Bloke knows what he wants, where to buy it – goes out, buys it, comes back. No faff. Bloke into bikes may well plan route around bike shops where browsing / chatting is permitted.

Bloke does not go to a shopping centre and browse for clothes and drink coffee. That is womanly.

WE knew you were are odd – is she catching on?

Speak to your LBS – 29er wheels are wheels and if they build wheels, they can build 29er wheels.

How about something geographical ie where she is? There must be somewhere nice sounding around where she lives or something. I guess she’s after local business more than anything, so that might be a start and make people remember a local business rather than a person’s name.

get out to West Charleston and these guys are pretty good. It is a good way off the strip so you might need to sort transport / bus routes. LVC do rentals and Red Rock Canyon is where the bike expos do their demos – but again, own transport relly needed.

S’funny. I checked a few of the Newcastle events and listings websites – no mention of any fireworks on the quayside at all. I wonder if them not planning or announcing any there has anything to do with there not being any for you to see? 😕

Wait for the trip and don’t buy it before you propose. I maintain you won’t get the right ring and she will be the one wearing it for the rest of her life – regardless of other blokes saying their missus told them they chose right – she is being kind.

The £ to $ is set to improve. The rings can be a good deal cheaper over there and, given the exchange rate, you’ll get a lot more for your money over there. Propose, then ring hunt together.

There was a thread on this a few weeks ago.

Get the train out to Frascati (40 min or so) and spend the day wandering the town and gardens and eat a pork sandwich – known for miles for them. Drinking frascati in Frascati just makes sense!

What are you going to bring to the business? Never mind what we want, why are we going to come to you?
How many houses in the village now? Do some sums based on that market ie everything from 1 cup per household per week upwards. Given we’re still in an economic downturn, expensive coffee is one of the things people reduce spending on.

One thought is that you put them in the coldest part of the room – used to always b under the windows. It is thought to prevent draughts around a room ie cold air falls at window, rad on opposite wall has hot air rising, air flowing around the room with a cold draught on the floor. Also that space under the window is ‘dead’ as you can’t put anything else there really.

The modern radiators are more efficient, so you may find a smaller one is recommended by the calculations and puts out more heat than the existing ones.

Having your thermostat in a room with another heat source isn’t very good – it won’t reflect the house temperature and ‘falsely’ cut thea heating as that room is warmer than the rest.

New rads will make for a more efficient system ie transferring heat better. I’ve replaced the rads in 2 houses and well worth the effort. If you can shorten any pipework, you’ll make it better too. Depending on how old the existing one is, the new boiler and rads could be a big improvement.

Most of them are far smaller when you see them in real life. I think they have 2/3 size sets and dwarves for the adverts!

If You can’t work out that 75%+ discount off current season bikes is fake, then you don’t deserve to be allowed on the internet – sorry. There are too many other pointers on the website to mention.

You have a ‘style over content’ issue here. Your photos are good, but how I get to see them isn’t. Get some of them hosted on your site so I can see them without a flickr or Flash delay. If you have me hooked, then I’ll go further – but you’ve got to hook me. Sell me your pictures – selling form over function fluff is for advertising agencies!

Newcastle – without a shadow of a doubt. Great eating, drinking, loads to see and do, compact city centre, coast 9 miles away (Tynemouth, getting better all the time – Front Street has pubs and great restaurants now) and well located for you.

    Sunderland – just say no.

I’ve got a moderate-to-slow brodband here. Bored with nothing to look at while your page loads, so clicked elsewere. If you’ve not got my attention then I’ll not wait to see what you do – even if I know what you do. Give me a reason to wait while your website pulls content from flickr. I clicked on what I thought was your website, not just a Flash portal to another. Make it your website.

igm – I can’t possibly condone your sort of activity – putting toilet roll further away from the user than is necessary. Hanging the available sheets closer to the wall means more chance of fumbling and leaving cooties on said wall. Your poor personal hygine gives me grave cause for concern.

Away from the wall presents the sheets in the most forward and easily accessable position – whch is best when talking about this sort of thing. You don’t want anything further away or sub-optimal.

I’ve got a 30 year old Kenwood Chef – good for mixing stuff (I was given it).
The Magimix I bought is just awesomeness for the sheer power and smoothness – chops, shreds, doughs, the lot.

Plenty valid reasons – but I guess daddy will want to blame someone because his son won’t get the present he wants – rather than accepting he could have ordered it earlier or bought from a shop.

All in, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall is my favourite because his food is balls out ridiculous but in a fun “killed it with my bare hands” kind of way.

Are you insane? He is probably one of the most traditional British food chefs on TV at the moment. The man is doing a great job of

    1. Showing where food comes from.
    2. Showing people old British recipes updated for the majority who think meat grows in nice tidy vacuum-packed joints.
