    Might chance these wera ones.

As for the fact that only Allen make Allen keys seems a tad pedantic. Have you never used the term Hoover instead of vacuum cleaner, or jeep to describe a 4×4 or perhaps called a box cutter a Stanley knife?

I’m not sure about the dt Swiss axles but if they’re the same as the maxle axle then the superstar won fit. The thread pitch is different. Betd do an intense axle that suitably replaces a maxle axle.

He’s washing a towel at 90c to clean the machine not his coat.

    Edit:beaten to it. As above

Make sure to clean the detergent drawer out first. And put a hot wash on first with some soda crystals and a few towels to clean any remaining detergent out of the machine.

Sounds to me like the oil has expanded slightly, absorbed some water or something. Happened me on juicy 7s before. I just opened the bleed port on the lever a touch and pushed the pistons back, fitted new pads and worked fine.

Camped at pierces castle, then descended back to rostrevor via castle bog, then onto the new trails.

Spent last night in the wilds of the Mournes.

wasnt a bad night for it. Could do with a smaller sleeping bag if I’m going to make a habit of it.

All in all was a good night!

Their shares dropped sharply the other day I read. Could be a profit boosting scheme?

“The Stealth brand is the benchmark of high performance rubber. High performance rubber in outdoor sports means either the greatest friction or the most cushioning, often a combination of both. The first Stealth® rubber revolutionized rock climbing, and is still considered the best choice of climbing rubber world wide. Now there are more than a half dozen Stealth® formulas specifically tailored for a variety of rock climbing styles, as well as compounds that provide unbeatable, extremely technical rubber characteristics for hiking, mountain biking, trail running and water sports.”

    There ya go!

Depends on your needs and how picky you are. I use a fallkniven dc4. Great stone that can fit in my bag no worries for when I’m out and about. Ideally you want Japanese whet stones but they’ll put you out a fortune. Take a read on some online bushcraft forums for some better advice than you might get here.

Five ten have different stealth rubbers. Some being softer than others depending on application afaik

I currently just have it cable tied to the swingarm, but I feel it’s a tad exposed

Apparently evo hubs are ok as they have a beefier axle in them. I just replaced the maxle light on my five with a betd intense axle, this was for a hope pro2 though.

Does anyone know will the olive need cut off for new style shimano brakes or will the whole lot fit through the holes in the swingarm?

I pack my bearings with the finish line Teflon stuff. Pretty handy with the tube and applicator, seems to keep the bearings running smoother for longer. That post about heat build up and added torque, is it based in the likely rpm and conditions on an mtb? Surely the main reason for failure on an mtb would be from ingress of water? So the addition of grease will help to prevent this and is a worthwhile trade off?

I get creaking on mine between the stem and bars. Can’t get rid of it

For my hope pro 2 front I just bought a set of 6 bearings and re packed then myself with grease. That was about a year ago, and still on the first pair.

The other option is to go for skf or some other branded set which technically should last longer.

I went from elixirs to xt. Yet to truly get on with my xts. They are far more powerful than the avids I’ve had, but I feel they lack a bit of modulation. They’re just very in off. In saying that, my favourite ever brakes were juicy sevens, so maybe I like that sort of feel.

bought aa five frame myself, 18″ about a month ago or so. Thought the angles were perfect coming from an 456ss but felt there was alot of pedal bob on the climbs.

sent the shock to Loco and got it back the other day, the difference is night and day, its gone from being a great bike, to a bloody awesome bike.

It not climbs great and as you say once you point it down the hill it takes off!

    Definitely reccomend one!

I’m a fan of troy lee odis. But they’re a hell of a lot slimmer than rogues.

See I got the frame a couple of months ago but the propedal never really worked and the rebound adjustments aren’t up to much. Loco has suggested this could be down to nitrogen leaking into the damper.

Just wanted to hear if anyone felt the custom tune was worth it.

Got sorted in the end after a lot of faff! Ended up having to put an old seat post through where the seat mounts to get some leverage. Probably not recommended but had to be done!
