Not always possible. I’ve done a few sets over time. First two were fine, take the spacer out or cut it down and instant increase. Great! The last set didn’t have a spacer in, 130mm damper as standard, no way to increase travel apart from a different air shaft. Booo. Worth pulling them apart to check though.

Got 180mm lifeline disc’s front and rear with uber semi metallic and deore calipers. Over a year old absolutely no problems. Bargain.

Went from sektors to revs. Was a little disappointed At first because they didn’t feel that much better but after adding The maximum amount of tokens (sausage and egg belly ahem) and playing around with the pressure I’m starting to feel the difference and although not huge I’d defiantly say better.

Stiffer. Hmm. Hard to bet on but waay more plush

    Fuerteventura

Corralejo in the north is a bit too british for me.

Caleta de Fuste in the middle is the best for me. Plenty of places to eat and not too loud. No nightclubs.

Morro Jable Very German but has amazing Beach. Long way from the airport.

Do yourself a favour and have a drive round. Some amazing scenery and great little places to visit.

Don’t forget the two small bearings at the rear of the swingarm triangle. You might think your bottom bracket is creaking but these will be the culprits.

We had something like this earlier in the year on our way to Cwm Rhaeadr from New Quay. Not a major road or anything, bike copper comes round bend towards us waving his arms at as if we should pull over. Before we had time to really take it in, more cop bikes followed by cars and a black jag/bmw car with a smartly dressed couple in the back? No it wasn’t the queen.

Always wondered who they were? Gawd knows. Nice riding by the way. :-)

I made the switch from a 26 steel hardtail to my first ever 650b FS. I hated it to start with. Really thought I’d made a huge mistake. Just didn’t feel right, hated the way it turned etc etc.
But I kept at it, changed my riding style, wider bars, shorter stem and tyres made a HUGE difference.
Love it now. Never really had the “It’ll make the trails too easy” thing. Its allowed me to look at and ride stuff that I just wouldn’t of considered before.
Plus your back will thank you for it.

    Age.
I’m 48 and a lot more cautious now despite spending a lot of my younger years doing a brains out how big are your b***s sport (motorcycle road racing) and being quite good, ahem.
So its not like I’ve never known the risks. But its just the way it is. I’m not as brave. nutty or whatever as I was.
I still like to tackle big drops and rooty stuff but I always stop and have a look and a good think about it and have no problem walking away. Quite nice to have grown up a bit!

Ok, I now know 100% a Rockshox Tora Turnkey damper will NOT fit a Rockshox Secktor fork. Dohh!
It will screw in and work but the Tora compression damper is longer and will hit the rebound damper just before you get full travel. Good job I checked beforehand!
You can’t even just change the cap. Because the two dampers, despite looking almost identical from the outside, are manufactured differently inside and the pushrods won’t fit. Double Dohh!

Not all bad news though, a chance conversation with a mate led to a bit of swapping of parts so Its sorted now.

Thanks for the offer phutphutend top man ,but I’ve ordered a new damper unit from a different fork.
I’ll post the results up if it fits…………If it doesn’t I’ll have pulled my own fingernails out in the garage

Yea cheers bud, seen that one. Problem is I think that one is for Aluminium upper tubes which are a smaller internal diameter than the steel uppers.

I’ve spotted this one and the recon silver does have steel uppers so maybe….. Does anyone know for sure?

Unfortunately still not heard anything yet…………..

If anybody is up at Hopton this weekend maybe ask a few other people in the car park. I know its a long shot but he/she might be going back to have a look around?
    Go on…be sociable for a change :D

    Cheers all.

Brought a TMars bout a year and a half ago just to see if I liked a dropper post or not. Didn’t want to invest a lot so read up on tinternet and went for a TMars. Its now in the second frame and nothings broke or been replaced but to be fair I might get some bushings(£15) for it soon.I do class myself as a fairly sympathetic rider though.

Bottem line is, if you don’t want to service and adjust on a regular basis don’t buy a TMars or similar as you will hate/break it.

Definatly worth it. Wouldn’t want to ride without a dropper post now but having just put a Thompson dropper on my GF’s bike..mmm nice.

    Yea, I hear you dobiejessmo. I know what you’re saying and I can’t disagree….

Without giving the game away, the cost of replacing the Camelbak plus what was inside must be easily over £100. Not cheap. I’d be weeping on a Daily basis!

Its now up on Pearce Cycles Face ache page so you never know.

Spoken to Pearce Cycles as they have close links to the Trails at Hopton and they are/have putting it up on their Facebook page.

Cmon Guys, could do with a bit of help on this.

A fellow MTB’er is seriously having a bad monday thinking how much its gonna cost to replace all this stuff.

    I got this…

    https://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/clarke-bandit-iv-8-litre-air-compressor-with-a

Not too noisy, reliable, can pick the compressor up and carry around with one hand. I don’t regret not going the S/H fleabay route. Guns never jammed once.
Get about 20 plus staples fired before a recharge which takes about a minute.
Depends how quick etc your nailing really.

I’m gonna say fix it, keep it, ride it.

I love seeing stuff like this out on the trail. Great.

    Good luck.

For me a full strip down, so you can at least feel each individual bearing for any roughness which might be missed when its all bolted together.
Push your finger into the center of the bearing to feel any roughness.
Suspension bearings only move a few degrees compared to wheel bearings.

Running an older Yamaha xq125 maxster at the mo.125cc four stroke, sips fuel, about 60mph,paid £600.
Brakes are stonking (twin piston brembos), motor is fine if uninspiring. Be prepared for a bit of a shock on the handling front though!
All scooters have not got the best suspension. You’ll soon get used to it though.
Used to regularly switch from a 50cc two stroke scooter to a 1000cc superbike!Bit strange but not a problem.
For the midlands commute they’re great.

If on the day you felt that the reds were too rough and only rode the blues, you’d still go home with huge grins

    Spot on.
We went mid week november (very quiet) and my Gf who is still learning really enjoyed it. Both hartails. Don’t be a hero and you’ll be fine.

I extensively research nearly every purchase, not a problem over £50 but I can waste hours on low value purchases or trying to save 2 quid. For some reason I can’t seem to put the same effort in to actually earning or investing money

Christ! I thought it was just me! 99p ebay purchases are a favourite…..WTF

Loved the Kirill Benderoni one. Probably the most interesting MTB vid I’ve seen.
Mad riding stuff but nice to see a No BS vid aswell. Thanks.

How about upgrading your clothing? Just as, if not more important than bits for the bike.
I’d strongley reccomend Nant yr Arian aswell. Did it last year on a hardtail. Great!
