Firestarter that sounds about right, just been looking on chain reaction and the xt one looks like it would sort it. Dont know why they would spec one that causes problems though, surely this must happen a lot!?

Yeah its a 2010 zesty, basic model. There’s no play in the suspension or the bb. It looks like a slightly too small chainring has been fitted. I’ll check all the bolts tomorrow but its not long since I checked thm. If not I’ll have take off the cranks. Thanks anyway guys, I’ll probably be back with more problems soon!

Don’t think its the chain, its a thin groove that matches the metal lugs behind the bolt holes on the inside of the chainring, and when you pedal it I can see contact. I’ve noticed that higher end inner chainrings, like XT and Saint, dont have that metal lugs behind the bolts so it could be the design.

Im 6ft 2 and a 50cm suits me really well. Keeps it chuckable.

The new MK 2.4 is pretty good I find. The race kings are rubbish though, one came with my bike and I tore all the sidewall on my third ride. Made out of paper I think.

No prizes for guessing what I’m going to say. Mines been brilliant, but all these are quality bikes that will perform more or less equally well, I just think the Zesty is the best value for money. Fives are really nice but too expensive for me!

    Hi guys,
cheers for the help, I live near Cawthorne actually. I rode Cut Gate last week that was awesome, just always looking for a change for when I can’t be bothered going far. These suggestions sound good, I’ll search for those places on the map, I’ve got the 1/50000 one somewhere I think. Better get out exploring!

Cheers rudedog that seems to have sorted it. Boys at Evans cycles must not have put it together properly, never had that problem on my old hardtail in 2 and a half years.
