My wife is also an SLT specialising in post stroke. She suggests having a look at the following:

Same situation for the Majesty frame and wheels. Refund on items but not the £20 postage cost so will be following up about that. No word yet on the Eccentric, but I’m expecting same thing to happen with that.

Friend had 2 wheelsets cancelled. He’s still waiting to hear on an Eccentric frame too.

Thought it was too good to be true, was surprised when I got the dispatch notice tbh.

I bought one of those 11.99 frames. Not 100% convinced it will arrive though!

I just had dispatch note for a NS Majesty frame and 26″ Enigma Roll wheels and an Eccentric Cromo frame all at £11.99 each, so hope yours comes through too

Current Reactor frame use a UDH. I think Pilo D1239 is the correct match for the models prior to this year (or at least thread pitch is correct and it looks the same as the Nukeproof replacement)

It was possibly with the headset as well, so could be a couple of hundred grams lighter than that. I managed not to make a note at the time I weighed it. Built up with carbon bars, gx drivetrain, fox transfer, hunt trailwides and maxxis exo tyres it came out around the 30lb mark (no pedals)

Large with super deluxe was 3.6kg including seatclamp and axle

What stroke shock have you got fitted? Reactor takes a 210x50mm shock. This is the same shock as 210x55mm shock just with a travel spacer fitted, so you wouldn’t expect the o ring to reach the end of the shock. Caveat to this is I don’t know what markings your shock will have on it.

Pretty sure the rear wheel shouldn’t be contacting the frame with all the air out – if it is then I’d be grateful that you’re not getting full travel!

I have one in large and at 6ft I run a 210mm dropper with room to spare. Maybe I have long legs. Mines a carbon with 140 pikes built up at around 30lbs rather than some of the burlier builds they sell.

Pedalling is ok for the type of bike it is, ie descending focussed trail bike. It doesn’t have the snap forward under power of a bike with more antisquat, the flip side of this is it feels great on fast chattery stuff. Traction on technical climbing is also good, but the effective seat angle is fairly slack (this maybe be better with less seatpost showing) and it likes to dip into its travel so you have to shift around a fair bit at times to keep the front planted.

I’ve found the megneg a useful upgrade for tuning the suspension on my stage 5 if you go down the rockshox route.

Shock stroke (45mm) on the Stage Evo is too short for a megneg aircan I believe

Has anyone received a set of these and know the offset?

    Thanks

I had one of the 6 bike walk in sheds done in November. I don’t know how long it took them to get into, but it didn’t look like it was too difficult for them to get open using garden tools taken from neighbour’s shed.

Ah yeah, tyre clearance on the carbon frame is quite tight to the seatstay bridge. I never put anything larger than a 2.3 on mine (tried Specialized Slaughter 2.3, Specialized Eliminator 2.3 and MSC Singletrack 2.25) and with all of those could never fit more than a 4mm allen key in the gap between the tyre and the bridge. I definitely wouldn’t want to go bigger than any of those.

I had a 2018 carbon Smuggler for a few months before it was stolen last month. With a mid weight build (carbon bars, EXO tyres, GX 11 speed) it came in at 30lbs without pedals, so not the lightest for the travel but not too bad considering how capable it was.

It was a fun bike to ride, but it wasn’t a particularly responsive pedaller compared to some other short/mid travel bikes I’ve tried. The flip side to that is that descending the rear end feels more like an enduro bike, but I did find I would bottom out now and then. The stock Fox DPS shock comes with the largest volume spacer in, so no way of making it more progressive without changing out the shock.

Also interested, I had a Solaris Max stolen last month, thinking about a Switch9er as a replacement

Seat post size is on the technical info pdf, it 31.6mm. Can’t help with the other questions though

    Hi Tim,

I haven’t ridden the Pace so I can’t compare them but as you know I’m keen on my Solaris Max

Did you see this thread from a few weeks back?

There’s been at least one red arrow every day down along the Hope Valley for the past 3 days.

The longer foot nut will push the whole shaft up so that the air piston is sitting higher, not at the same position as shown in the photo.

Only other difference apart from the damper is the lyrik has lower friction SKF wiper seals.

I initially ran a DB coil IL on my longshot RM with Cotics recommended spring rate and with a lighter spring and was never fully happy with how it worked. The recommended one felt oversprung and the lighter spring either bottomed out too easily or I had to run more HSC than felt good.

Now on a DBair IL. Trail chatter doesnt quite feel as good as the lighter coil spring but overall much happier with the feel of the bike and the level of progression and pop.

No personal experience but a friend had one for a bit, also riding Dark Peak. He found it too stiff and swapped it for one of the current version Sonder Transmitters.

What size Pyga are you looking for? I have a large frame I need to get up on classifieds.

No problem. From memory its also the same hub as used in Hunt MTB wheels too, so you can pickup the freehubs from them too.

    It’s the Horizon freehub

No issues here with one a non-boost Diablo wheelset with XD freehub. Flat spotted the rear wheel but still going strong with a Flow EX rim on instead.

Like BB have recently changed the freehub using the Nukeproof branded one, but I went the other way to Shimano.

    Thanks Onzadog

James from J-Tech has confirmed that the damper in these is limited to 120mm. To extend the travel you’d need a new damper (£250) as well as the air shaft.

I just bought a Fox 34 performance elite for £350.

    It’s a 44mm offset but I’m thinking I’ll not actually notice.

    Hi Onzadog,

I don’t suppose you could let me know the 4 digit code found on the rear of the lower legs? I’m looking to see if these can be extended to 140mm with just an air shaft swap.

    Thanks, Tom

I’m pretty sure the Horizon hub is a rebranded Novatec SB642, but you may want to check this with Hotlines/CRC.

I don’t tend to get through more than 75% of the travel even at 32% sag.

My 2014 T129 frame came with 5 volume bands in the shock and I struggled to get full travel. Weighing under 70kg I took two out and found the setup was a lot better for me.

My frame was second hand, so could have been a change of setup from the previous owner, but I’m pretty sure that they came like this from new as I saw it mentioned in a review somewhere.

I’ve done the GR5 option but not the other. It was a good few years ago now but from memory it wasn’t great – quite a wide track which I didn’t really feel justified the ride up to the Col.

As Andy says it’s not down to Les Ray but the track that zigzags down via Chalet de l’Acquy. From memory after doing the steeper bit that goes straight down the fall line I then turned left and traversed round to Crepet.

It’s very quiet out that way – I didn’t see anyone after leaving the piste. The Prodains lift wasn’t running that year though, so that might have contributed to the lack of walkers.

There’s a small section on the video which isn’t on the correct trail (around 50s to 1m19) where I took a wrong turn up the hill – that section is descending back down to the correct route.
