The Tweed Valley Bike Patrol have been using the Keela Roadrunner trousers for a year now; they are very hardwearing, a good fit and fit over slim kneepads with no worries. So impressed with the performance for the price. They are not waterproof but I’ve treated mine with Nikwax proofing stuff and the water does bead on them provided it’s not a monsoon. Not tried the Scuffers so can’t comment but, if Keela is good enough for the emergency services and Mountain Rescue Teams it’s probably a sound choice!

Just put one on a full suspension bike out of interest as I needed a new chainring; very impressed when it comes to traction on technical climbs. On the flat I haven’t noticed too much difference but my legs are less tired at the end of a big ride.

Absolute Black also offer a 30 day trial so what’s there to lose? If you don’t get on with it they will send you a new round one. Go for the same size as your normal round imo.

Sorry no help but I machined some up because I couldn’t get em, I’m considering making them available if someone doesn’t start supplying em soon

Good effort – stick them on ebay now and I reckon you’ll sell loads, can’t believe that Shimano don’t supply it. Tight.

This is just really poor customer service to the extreme. Cheap or not, what kind of company tries to increase the price of the product that its already sold you between accepting the order and then sending the product?

I agree, but when they are selling in such bulk creating such a back order (income stream) what’s one or two grumpy customers.., they are still selling out. That’s the biggest reason the LBS still has a major place in the market imo.

    Orders bike from actual shop.
    Gets bike within a week.
    Goes for a ride.

Warranty issue – ring LBS – LBS sort asap and only delay was with manufacturer who had to ship a part from the US. I know it is often cheaper to buy direct and the spec is undeniably better value BUT, when it goes wrong I have never been let down by the LBS but have heard and read lots of horror stories of Canyon and YT. I would probably trust CRC if I got a Sommet though.

Not in the car park, hard as nails. Usually for these events camping is down either in a seperate field and/or at the rural centre. Sure the No Fuss website will give details.

Send back to Fishers via the shop you bought it from and about 10 days later a new boxed one arrives – got one waiting for me. :-)

Test rode a T129 recently and really liked it; the spec for the money is awesome, as is their lifetime bearing warranty. Only issue (not sure if it’s just a T129 thing) is the rear tyre mud clearance is non existant! 2.2 at an absolute max but it would need to be a slick! Something to consider for Uk riding in the 4-season mud :-)

I have been through all of it and the best I have found, by far, is John Lewis specialist house insurance. Also, securing with motorbike chains and ground anchor, having an immobitag fitted and permanant marking registered with the Bike Register lowered the premium by £60.

Great laid back event with testing but not particularly hard or gnarly stages last year. Best done in fancy dress…!

I loved a blast on a Tallboy but needed an XL to get the fit right (Im 6ft and ride L in any other brand). Now getting a new 5010 with the longer top tube so going to a large. It might be a great price but a) check the sizing and b) if it’s too good to be true then it probably is…

Washing machine on a ‘quick wash’ at 30deg has worked a treat on my Freerider Elements then sprayed with a re-proofer spray – been going strong for 10 months now.

Been using the Superstar Carbon AM wheels all summer, including beasting them in various enduro races, and have been awesome. Deviant is right, the ride is a bit harsher initially but playing around with tyre and suspension pressures a little sorted that. I love the stiffness the front wheel gives, put it into a corner, load up the bike and it just goes where you want it. I have also hit it hard a couple of times and no issues. Would def buy some more but not at Enve prices when Superstar and LiteBicycle seem to work as well!

 When I use it for work too it is extremely frustrating, now being forced to look at the n+1 option. Thankfully I have some great folk who have let me beg, borrow & steal a bike when needed. Guess it’s going ok then!

If you haven’t been before and are a bit wary about big mountain riding then GoWhere are the folk to turn to – they know this area like the back of their hand and if (when) it goes wrong it can go wrong very quickly. The rising is mind blowing but please don’t under estimate the severity of the terrain you are heading into.
