Another long term owner here (and the Guide that came before it) mines a V1 140mm, with a 160mm fork. It’s a brilliant all rounder, but definitely better on the downs, just feels like it’s got 20mm more travel when going through rough stuff. I haven’t noticed any issues when climbing, but I don’t do a massive amount of technical climbing. Originally ran mine with a fox X2, but swapped that out for an EXT Storia. The X2 wasn’t bad, just fancied a change.

+1 for no idler issues, & Chris and Ben have always been super helpful on a whole myriad of questions I had.

Seeing as everyone else is posting pics…

obvs not a standard colour, but if you buy from JMJ designs, he’ll do you a discount on a new paint job. He’s very good

Is that a reach, or is there some link?

No, Jordan’s in the low/no alcohol craft beer game now.

Absolutely this. If someone has to point out the mistake/error to get an apology, then there is no sincerity behind the apology.

I’m sorry you feel that way.

Where can you buy Trickstuff in the UK? A quick google makes it look like you can only get them from abroad, from most of the shops that wont ship to the UK anymore…. unless i am missing something?!

I haven’t looked for a while, but I think most German sellers sell to the UK if over £135? Which TS orders tend to be?

All the bikes had a sticker on saying it was an FSR rear end though. Most used it as a selling point, same with all the various DW iterations.

The more these sorts of threads keep popping up, the more I’m thinking copying TS look was purely to generate attention, nothing to do with performance. If they looked different to everyone else’s, they wouldn’t have had 10% of the exposure they’ve had so quickly, regardless of how good they are. No such thing as bad publicity and all that.

aka pivot do this with Atherton bikes

Both, and others, do it from Dave Weagle. They all mention who the original idea came from. As did everyone who used an FSR Rear end for 25 years.

This is just exploiting others hard work.

By the way I run all brake brands on my bikes. I have bo affiliation to any.

What bike are your Trickstuff brakes on?

I stand by the brakes as being one of the best I’ve tried.

Why haven’t you waxed quite so lyrically about the other best ones?

Works fine for me. (2013 ish GXP) a bit of messing around with BB spacers required, but works fine. 40T NW works chainring.

Real time Trains will have the details, those times are gathered from the official data:

for the first time, sense has been seen. Though interestingly they say I was only delayed by 209 minutes not the *checks notes* 400 I actually was. I assume this is because had I had telepathic knowledge of what each train was going to do and when, I could have changed trains and got myself home quicker. As has happened on my commute. Eg train cancelled but because there was another 29 mins later, I was only 29 mins late etc

    ****ers

600% and usable gears is very achievable.

    with a Pinion gearbox ;-)

The saga continues. LNER website is claiming it doesn’t appear that my train was sufficiently delayed to qualify for a refund. We shall see.

I always book through Trainline, and it tends to send me notifications etc, but it can only pass on the info NR give it.

Now some halfwit has pulled the emergency door release at Hitchin. Not one of the people due to get off here. Literally couldn’t make this up.

Oh for **** sake. Apparently the coaches missed 80 folk. So back on rescue duty.

I expect my VC will be imminent.

In a fit of efficiency, the two trains (us and another) waiting with baited breath as to who was to be the saviour have now been told the other passengers have now been rescued and put on coaches, destination unknown. We still haven’t left Stevenage, t’other train left 10 mins ago.

    Time for some rum.

Still in Stevenage, no progress. Train manager has  just said to people there’s some left over sandwiches from first class they are giving away. The resulting scenes were like an aid drop in a Warzone. Almost as many casualties.

Apparently we/the powers that be are now having meetings/drawing lots to see who is gonna rescue the stranded train. Was due to arrive in Leeds an hour ago. Still in Stevenage…

Seems rescue duty is no longer required, not sure what happened to the others. Not going to ask. Hope they made it.

Update. My train is going pull alongside stranded leccy trains to pick up those stuck on them. Reckon about 600 folk. Gonna get cosy…

Canary train has made it through! The engineers managed to switch off the electric so the passengers weren’t killed to death.

what it does mean is that he few trains in front of ours that are electric only are going nowhere.

    tomhoward

Train manager has said the first train in the queue is going to go through the affected area, with all the loose electricity, slowly to check that it’s safe to proceed.

I thank the passengers of that train for their sacrifice.

Am sat at Potters bar train station, on the LNER from King’s Cross to Leeds, and have been for the last hour as there’s an unknown fault with the overhead lines. Never before have I been so pleased to have got a cheap upgrade to 1st class, what with all that free beer, wine and spirit that isn’t going to drink itself…

The Evans local to me are super helpful –  they would definitely do small maintenance jobs .

Been in recently? This was maybe a month ago. I used to go to mine (Leeds city centre) all the time for small jobs, apparently I wasn’t profitable enough.

They’ve also stopped doing small repair jobs, annoyingly. it’s either a service from their (very limited) price list, or nothing.

eg, they’ll do a full front and rear brake bleed & service, but not free up some sticky pistons on the front brake.

M&S were cheapest for me (any 1 bike up to £15k, max £50k total) only a 60% increase on previous provider, who were wanting a 100% increase.
