    And go where?

    not necessarily for ‘25.

McLaren have always had a policy of letting their drivers compete

By all means start the season like that and see who emerges in top, but at this stage in the season, 2/3rds of the way through, Oscar is not going to catch Max, so it makes sense to put all your energy into Lando, who has much more of a chance to.

Assuming they win the WCC, they’ll look pretty daft doing it P2 and 3, when they could have done it P1 and 4/5, and all the kudos/marketing opportunity that brings…

Wouldn’t mind trying a DH race some time if I can ever get myself back up to how I used to ride at my peak. Something like Steel City DH looks fun and not too serious. I’d probably be shit but it looks like it could be fun at least.

The Northern Downhill guys put on great grassroots events. Not serious and you be smoked by 12year olds, but good fun. Doable on a trail bike too.

Wonder, come the end of the season, if Lando will be looking elsewhere if he misses the WDC by less than the number of points he’s missed by the team not favouring him when they could have switched cars. That’s 10 now.

Had XX1 AXS x2 for 5 years now, both faultless. Same with 2x GX AXS I’ve had for 1 and 2 years.

    Not going back to cables.

I’m going to Machynlleth in a few weeks for something else anyway, may have to pay them a visit…

Though, the final purchase would more than likely be Steel. Might even be singlespeed.

You’re not even 40 yet and you’re already giving up on the challenge of riding by buying an ebike

I bought my first ebike 8 years ago.

Funnily enough, I was looking at a status 2 DH alongside the Kenevo SL…

Both very capable bikes, knees stayed solid though.

    They’re spokes.

theyre really, really light, provide comfort and are cool. They’re a pain in the arse to build with. And are expensive.

    but they’re still just spokes.

Website says their road bikes are $12-25k+ AUD. They’re only doing half the FS frame though ;-)

Didn’t Rockshox invent the Torque Cap because they were admitting a 15mm front axle wasn’t stiff enough?

to try and combat the noodle-y nature of the USD RS-1 fork. With limited to no success. They then rolled it out across the range.

Hamilton 14th, where he should never have been due to poor qualifying, to 7th*.

*8th, behind Russell. Giving Russell the lead in the head to head between the 2 (8-7). Merc were the 4th fastest team today, George was the better of the two team mates.

Flown a Spitfire :-D it’s every bit as brilliant as you’d imagine.

Next up is flying a jet fighter.

and/or drive an F1 car (former more likely than the latter i suspect).

    It’s much cheaper to drive an F1 car… https://www.trackdays.co.uk/experience/jordan-f1-race-car-driving-experience-with-pace-car/12089/

Is only for sale because of the UCI rules on race bikes needing to use components that anyone can buy?

if that were the case, why go to all the trouble of a product launch. Hope don’t advertise their track bike, but you can still buy it if you have £70k burning a hole in your pocket

just wait until you find out about quick release axles (and how much carbon wheels can cost)

what can’t be taken off a bike with an Allen key? BB? Brake rotors?

You can import one yourself for significantly less than the cost of UK RRP

I reckon you’d get change from £850 which, given how much Cane Creek charge for a few short welded Ti tubes (and sell plenty), doesn’t seem all that bad

£650 for a dropper post is still in the realm of LOFL

cheaper than when AXS reverbs launched though (£700 iirc)

also, I reckon the us vs uk price will be explained by VAT & import duty, plus disti and seller margin, are fox selling direct in the US? Keep in mind the us price won’t include sales tax

I assume the performance elite version (same, but no kashima), I assume will follow in a few months. will be more in line with AXS reverb pricing.

or the factory model won’t sell, and be discounted in a similar timeframe

the other thing – imagine how much a replacement lever will be when the cable ones are such mental money for what they are! £300?

    £229

Folk with 15 year old frames will be happy they are at the cutting edge again, not having dropper routing.

    With matching Kashima forks

lol, they can barely get two legs of the same fork colour matching, never mind two products

Buy it in the states, where it’s only $859, so £650?

New Fox Neo is out (I’m sure it will get a mention on STW this week) and it’s four figures!

£1149 here, or $850 in the states. One to smuggle back from holiday…

I think the car movement must keep it jogging position or something.

    more than riding?

I’ve had to rearrange bikes where something has shifted and pressed one of the shifter buttons so the mech is constantly trying to shift, guess that could be it.

I believe in KISS Its an expensive complex solution

For the user, it really couldnt be any simpler. Bolt on, pair, ride.

+1 on never going back to cable. I got my 1st AXS groupset when it first came out in 2019, still haven’t needed to change a shifter battery.

Being on an ebike means being in the wrong gear isn’t as much of an issue as on a regular one.

pretty sure aftermarket chainrings are available for transmission now too.

the motion sensor works on G forces, so unless you drive to the trail always at full throttle or hard on the brakes, it’s not an issue. I don’t take the batteries of of mine and have never had an issue.

would a 4.5 mm space behind the ring have the same affect ?

might throw the alignment between the ring and the idler out? Drop deviate a mail, they’ll help

Another long term owner here (and the Guide that came before it) mines a V1 140mm, with a 160mm fork. It’s a brilliant all rounder, but definitely better on the downs, just feels like it’s got 20mm more travel when going through rough stuff. I haven’t noticed any issues when climbing, but I don’t do a massive amount of technical climbing. Originally ran mine with a fox X2, but swapped that out for an EXT Storia. The X2 wasn’t bad, just fancied a change.

+1 for no idler issues, & Chris and Ben have always been super helpful on a whole myriad of questions I had.

Seeing as everyone else is posting pics…

obvs not a standard colour, but if you buy from JMJ designs, he’ll do you a discount on a new paint job. He’s very good
