I asked them re this when I took out a policy with them.

They have no lock standard requirements, eg any lock will do.

I spoke to the team at YellowJersey, Mountain rescue is covered, just as part of the emergency medical care.

My M&S quote has gone up 20% this year, pedalcover are coming in competitive. What’s so bad about their wording?

I’d also highly recommend Phil from Target, we’ve had a number of frames done by then and had no issues.

Have you got the bikes listed as a separate item?

Any ambiguity will be in your favour, FOS Charges only kick in once they’ve had 25 complaints however lets face it a company that size will have done.

If they have mis sold the policy and this can be evidence (ie call recording) you are likely to have success with the FOS, they often side with the consumer.

It can be worth finding a older FOS decision as a case study, may help influence the insurer if they review it as a complaint.

Looking at the wording (https://www.nationwide.co.uk/~/media/MainSite/documents/products/insurance/home-insurance/P3398-policy-wording-booklet) I would read from page 39 as the relevant section, this would imply that you are covered up to the bicycle limit in an outbuilding. This is assuming you have taken the bicycle cover.

There’ll often be wording that if they cannot replace like for like, they would settle for cost as new

That sounds like what they’re trying to do.

I’d recommend Phil @ Target, I used numerous Carbon repairers via work and Phils my go to.

That would typically fall under accidental damage, sounds like a very common claim.

So has anyone found anyone who will be good for insurance of wooden “shed”?

    Yellow Jersey cover sheds.

Same as Tracey, would highly recommend Yellow Jersey.

I’d put your request for the CCTV footage of you ( from the buses cameras) in asap, you’re often allowed a copy under GDPR but buses often overwrite it within the week

I’ve used GCI for 4 bikes now ( not canyon mind), worked great no problems.

This has been used for around 7 nights, It comes with an optional massive porch.

Officially there is no 10% discount for BC at Evans instead periodic special offers,

However most staff don’t know/care so just apply 10% off retail as CTC.

I’m a big fan of Fizik Tape. Its not the easiest to wrap but feels really nice once its on.

Second best would be the grippy Vex tape from Evans.

    Thanks for all the advice.

After driving today (following comments from above) it made me think that the lower limit won’t be all that bad.

Yeah – your best bet is for someone with a van of similar vintage to look it up for you and hope they were all classified the same (there’s lots of variation in the likes of T4s/T5s). As I said, anything else is just speculation.

    It’s what i’m hoping for.

Our logic is if we have to deal with faff of speed limits we might as well get the next size up (Dispatch, expert etc) rather than the compact one.

It all seems a bit of a grey area without having a V5 in your hand. We are trying to narrow down which model to look for (thinking 10 years old) without wasting peoples time.

Thanks Scotroutes, problem with that is it requires me having the V5.

Was hoping someone on STW had some experience from their own van.

    I use bikehike.co.uk also.

Gives you google earth and OS maps, can export as a .gpx file (i think for touring) and drag/drop onto device.

When I used to work for a Bianchi dealer they were incredibly slow for warranty. Still I would complain to Wiggle.

Depending on how cheap you need it, Evans normally have a few hubs in the ex display section of the website. I’ve had some Hope road hubs for £25 odd in the past (front only).

I’ve seen it a fair few times on Rock Shox forks, few tapered Fox forks have had the same issue. In all case the distributor sorted it out pretty quickly.

I’ve tried the first generation Aftershokz, to me the sound quality was not worth it. I just got for one ear bud in instead.

Pull back the hood and you can see the cable going in, try seeing if it is loose, if so push it back into the shifter

    tomatoevousparlour
    Free Member

Normal cause is the plug in the shifting pulling out slightly, normally due to not giving a small amount of access cable at the shifter

With the rear mech the hanger may be bent as well, worth getting that checked before trying to reset it all.

On some of the semi integrated frames theres not enough depth to fit the external cup into the frame.
