Love the more challenging conditions in the winter. Still don’t clean the bike, just look after the chain and the mud protects the rest. I have the beard but not the legs for singlespeed.

A just helped implement Highrise (http://highrisehq.com/) for my wife's business which is a similar size to yours. Much cheaper and simpler than the alternatives mentioned and a fantastic tool for keeping track of your customers. One of the best features is you can forward emails to the system and they are added as notes to the contact/company the email was from or to. You can also create tasks and monitor deals as you make them. Its hosted and costs around $25/month depending on the size of your database.

Often short rides (as I don’t want to miss out on the kids growing up) crank up a hill, enjoy the view, not flat out on the way down but with as many pumpy, jumpy, interesting lines as I can muster. Come back happy, not exhausted, with points remaining in the bag. Repeat at least 3 times a week.

Just got one from here. They have specific versions for XT and XTR. Not tried it yet.

I’ve had Easton Cullys for about 3 months and they are going well. Light, thin, loads of grip. I’ve not tried the others though (apart from V8’s which lasted about a week) so I can’t really compare.

Slugwash – I bought these pads over a year ago so they maybe ok now – Good Luck!

I was a big fan of superstar pads until my lunchtime ride today. Pads were about 6 months old with plenty of wear left (no big hills in Essex). On the ride out I heard a clonk as one rear pad seperated itself from its backing plate, by the time I stopped to change them both were gone. 5 miles later the front pads did the same. 4 pads failing on one ride, I guess it was corrosion. Scared me a bit!
