Anyone using a ‘strack’ i.e a steerer mounted rack? There’s a few of these emerging from the states. I’m thinking it’s wouldn’t work with drops though.

I’m sure the SRAM rotors will work but I’m going up to 180 front (I know it’s controversial) anyway. And Hope rotors also look superb 😁

Cheers, I’m already using Thule aero bars.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find a recommendation from the Yakima site for a 3 series?

Black and gold is a timeless combo used by some of the most iconic companies… John Player Special Lotus for example.

The caps are all I need TBH… I’ll see what’s available on the website.

I’m talking about TPU tubes not standard inner tubes.

To clarify… Almost like a slime tube (sealant in the tubilito etc)

Largely depends on the tyre clearance on your frame. Mixed is also a pretty loose term, personally I wouldn’t go any less than a 35c for the type of riding I do but did feel a huge benefit (in comfort) when I fitted a 650b/2″ tyre. But then North Yorkshire gravel is more XC MTB tbh!

@onewheelgood is there not a tech/modern version of the cambrian?

The bike is fitted with a 150mm pnw dropper so flexible seatpost aren’t an option. I was looking at the sram axs but it’s eye watering expensive for 75mm drop as you can set it in suspension mode but the drop didn’t seem enough for the really steep stuff I sometimes hit.

The Antares is the 00 version, DM me if you’re interested in @13thfloormonk

    FYI I’m 92kg with 12% body fat.

For high output the human body requires to burn the carbohydrate flame, every piece of literature I’ve read (and there’s a lot of it) supports this. Unless you’re an ultra endurance athlete where pacing is the key and load is below threshold. I am fat adapted and ride with the bare minimum and a double espresso before starting at times… That’s not what this post is about 😏

Thanks for your feedback team singletrack. Some interesting ‘opinions’ being banded about. The OP was in reference to riding hard, I’d love to have the time to pootle about stopping for a leisurely cucumber sandwich☺️ Although there was a British olympian that won a medal on jam sandwiches aledgedly?! 😆

As we are all physiologically different there is no one fix for all wrt carb dosaging. Personally I’ve found the suggested 80g/h to be way too light for me (120g is a bit much in all honesty) and I can feel it over longer more fatiguing rides. Through experience I have learned what works for me, I wasn’t really looking for health advice just ideas for on bike snackery.

I’ve used sis beta fuel but find I benefit from a combo including solids. Might just go down the Sagan/Haribo route… Hasn’t done him any harm 🤔😚

😂 Awesome review jargon. I’m leaning towards the 45c hutchinson tundra now with an insert… I’ll check the rimpacts out 👍🏻

I’ve given up on these, I had my heart set on them but they are hens teeth in the UK atm. Also a lot heavier than claimed when compared to other options.

Not a bad idea, although I’ve heard mixed vibes on inserts. The ballache of set up and need changing out, might be better getting a more durable carcass and refining line choice ☺️

Lol at the mtb suggestion… Mtb geometry on tarmac should be banned 😆

Nanos ey? Thanks I’ll check em out.

Hutchinson Tundra has been mentioned… Anyone running these?

Thanks all for your input. How much travel is enough travel on a gravel bike dropper? It just needs to give enough clearance to shift your Cog backward and move freely ideally?

The shimano shoes are good tbh, I have friends that use them. I’m using an old specialised Tahoe? Mtb shoe that I dug out the loft as the Giro Chambers weigh a ton for a mixed road/gravel ride.

Ideally it needs to be lightish so that’s why I said xc mtb shoe. Sidi do some with adjustable heel cups that look decent…

OK cool cheers. Things do get a tad steep near me and I’m hoping to get a post that I can slam to the clamp tbh. I’ve got the axs set up as a mullet on the SC so need a carefully positioned thumb lever etc.

I think powder coating in pantone 021c is the way to go. I’m not really into adding lots of orange ish jewellery on the bike but the matching spring will give the build a nice balance aestically.

Thanks for the advice Team 🙌🏻

Ideally I want to colour code the spring to match the fork I. E Fox factory orange. Not ideal but has anyone attempted to spray paint a shock spring… Any advice in doing so? Which paints work etc? 😚

The internal diameter is larger on the fox sls spring so is it just because it won’t seat correctly?

I’m running a maxxis dissector 2.6 on the rear that is great, rolls like a dream with great hook up. I do need a 2.6 Assegai for the front if anyone has a decent one kicking about surplus to requirements?

Lots of support for Hutchinson Griffus in 2.5 on here, might be work checking them out too.
