Does anyone else turn all the lights in the office off when working in the evening? I like it as a comedy show.

I had an existing slab partially covering the plot, so is just dug a strip foundation (through the paving slabs) and a dwarf wall. Keeps the bottom of the cladding dry.

surfer, a lot less digging and concrete!

    sadexpunk, nice shedding.

I’ve used 4×2 for the joists, 3×2 for the framing all treated C16/24.

I’m building a 5x5m one at the moment and have 4×2 joists, 15 degree pitch, with the joists at 1.2m spacing. Basically one at each edge of and 8×4 sheet of 11mm OSB, I have a single purlin running between mid board. I don’t think you could go any skinnier than that, but it’s stron enough to take my weight. With hindsight 18mm OSB would have been better, but I was bulding on my own so hauling those sheets onto the roof would be PITA.

If you fall through the roof add some more joists!

Pro cyclist are not normal people, as such they require abnormal treatment to compete in rediculous events such as the TDF. Therefore in order to compete at the top level in this sport some medical assistance is going to be required (it really would not be possible without a dr). The rules exist in order to regulate the level of medical assistance in order to create a level playing field. To this end Wiggins is as “clean” as they come.

Just because team SKY over egged their clean stance for marketing reasons, does not make Wiggins a cheat. Since when has sport been anything to do with ethics? Surely any ethical issues are included in the rules, no?

Any comparison with Lance is ridiculous.

If the same level of scrutiny was given to Quintana, Nibali, Aru, Valverde (FFS), I’m sure similar medical issues would be uncovered. But there seems to be no interest in applying that level of scrutiny elsewhere.

Best: Being allowed to build a new shed (now referred to as the bungalow).

Worst: A burr coffee grinder that’s finest setting is so coarse you can’t even use if for French press. Any recommendations for a replacement suitable for a fine espresso bring would be most welcome.

Pug=useless trail dog BTW. Get a rescue mongrel from a proper rescue centre, if you can afford £500 for one then donate that amount to the centre.

The cheapest car is the one you already have. Depreciation outways all other costs IMHO.

It’s about what I get, but I don’t quite pay 40% tax so means I can run a decent car at no extra cost. Were I to be on high rate tax I would ask for more or run an older car. If you do high mileage probably better off with a company car, if it’s just a perk then it’s OK.

That last issue sounds like laptopitis or ipaditis, do you work on a laptop? It’s caused by the strain of looking down all day. Get a monitor.

It could be HAVS, best avoided by keeping your hands warm. Get some gloves, if you get HAVS you are stuck with it forever, not good.

Mine is fine, I generally don’t ride if the weather is lashing down the whole time, but it is prfect for its intended purpose i.e. when you get caught out or at the beginning/end of rides.

I have had the same stunt tried, I told them to bugger off, they left me on the same terms. All turned out well as i am earning double now as I was then.

I would say if they are trying to f u over, they will have budgeted for some settlement costs.

Hence why I said that hourly rate is a misnomer. I also get the same regardless of whether I do a 50 hour or standard 38 hour week. Unfortunately, it’s a symptom of being a “professional

    This ^^^^

I would imagine a stint at a his restaurant is like a training contract, therefore when you leave (which you will for that money), you reap the rewards elsewhere.

I can’t stand a fixed service charge though. The whole point of a service charge is that you decide how good the service is and tip accordingly.

If you get a trade deal I would go for a Pedros bench in a box. Perhaps see if they will sponsor your project by way if some free tools? Good PR is that.

Yes, except when you get a hard frost and the shrub is still short. Particularly slow at the moment, but the new shed is coming on nicely.

My first car, a 1978 2CV, used to do 50mpg on a run. That was literally driving with your foot on the floor on the motorway, and doing about 60mph.

Me too, it was awesome. Flat engines are the best.

Trip computer mpg is nearly as inacurate as “official figures”, usually 10% higher than reality.

I think alonso should have won about 4 or 5 titles by now, if being the best driver was enough.

What’s Hulkenburgs position ATM? He would be a compliant team mate for LH.
