Oh and a pair of Tannoy m1 bookshelf speakers, God knows when I bought them, they must be getting on for 18 to 20 years old… not super expensive but I can’t justify upgrading them, they bring much joy

I have the same, got them on my 18th birthday. Probably my oldest possession.

They came stock on my spectral, so no bother.

I think a crack habit would be cheaper than pcp.

I’ve got the parkers app, not sure if I paid for it or not. I am very tight so I won’t have paid much!

On previous results it’s a real shame Stybar didn’t hold GVA off. I don’t see what the issue was, I was watching it thinking I’m glad someone with a chance of winning is just working for the sake of it. Good tactic.

I find GVA a bit dull personally.

Any Honda Civic, mine was so good I sold it to the next door neighbor. Not many of my old cars I would have done that with!

I got a top 100 on the riddler at cwmcarm today. Must have been to tired to brake! Someone once drove to the top of a trail trail so they could try and take my KOM while fresh.

I love it when people should stravvvvvvaaaaaaa while you hold a gate!

I’m 5’11” and ride a medium (29er), I have about 2cm to spare in the seat post. I don’t need a long reach, but would need a large one if I did.

I am a rider of many surfaces. I find being very specific about the surface I ride on limits the route options. It also mean I need to drive to the surface in question, I prefer to ride from my house.

I have an x-trail and could get a baby seat a toddler seat and a high backed booster across the back and 2 medium children in the boot. I only use one Iso-fix seat, defiantly no need to one with a booster type seat.

No need for an mpv, but they do fit more bikes in.

I wouldn’t be seen dead in any kit that cost less than £250, it would just be awful….only Rapha and assos for me.

I had a look at leasing & couldn’t believe the cost if looking at something nice eg BMW or Mercedes estates. So it got me thinking. How about buying something, say 2/3 yrs old with a bank loan. Let’s say £20k. Pay the bank loan over say 4/5 years. That way somebody else has taken the new car depreciation hit, your paying off your asset and left with something you own and can sell. Plus if the worst were to happen eg lost job, flog the motor and pay off the loan. Anybody gone down this route?

I know your taking a risk as it’s not brand new. However, realistically these days cars are well made. Just look at how many German cars you see with 100k plus on the clock. All still fetching good prices on autotrader

This is what I will be doing next, only because I wand something moderately quick. I currently lease an x-trail for £300/month 15k per year. When it goes back after 2 years it will have lost about £15k. I will have paid 8k. No brainer, but it is very car/deal specific.

The biggest pain in the arse is when utilities companies dig it up, as they know they can do a s**t job.

Ive got an al9.9 and it’s great for where I live. I’ve only swapped the grips, saddle and switched to 1×11. I didn’t even have to wait very long to get it.

    Subaru Legacy?
    BMW 530d touring?

    I think that covers it

I’ve done the whole of the new shed in and they are great. So cheap that if one gets ruined you can just replace it. They are nice and warm underfoot, and great if you have to do any work kneeling down.

    B&Q do them 2 packs for £18.

Applying to go to Heriot Watt uni in September to do the post grad brewing and distilling course.

I did a couple of years of an BSc in brewing an distilling, jacked in the end as I was too skint and couldn’t see a decent career outside of “factory production”. That was when craft beer wasn’t cool.

    Very hard degree is that.

Regional technical manager for a construction materials and geotechnical laboratory. It’s good when I get to actually do my job, rather than dealing with BS.

I’ve got a specialized tricross, not very hip, but basically a light touring/could bike. If they still made
It it would be an “adventure bike”. Can be had very cheaply.

Wot tiger said. A small bottle of wood glue with a nozzle should suffice, spread the crack pour in some glue and infer so gravity helps the glue into the gap. Clamp it up and it will be better than new. Clamping is the key here.

Spokes should be tight, no reason not to be. Comfort should be in the tyres, not in the wheel IMHO.

That camber sound like triggers broom!

I like fixing bike nearly as much as riding them, but as said by others, not everyone is wired this way. IMO time=money, if your time is better earning than fixing then just pay the man. I would suggest you pay a different man though.

I got my parent Miele dishwasher when they moved to a new house with integrated appliances, it was 12 years old. 7 years later they are on their 3rd new dishwasher and mine hasn’t skipped a beat.

What sum it’s up is when you open it up you get an exploded parts diagram, when you open up a hotpoint you just get cut arms! Nuf said.

If you are near Dorchester, Mud sweat and gears is a good honest shop, there is one in Weymouth and Dorchester. I’m not sure they would service your lefty in-house, but I’m sure they would arrange it all for you.

Also worth joining their club, it’s £5 per year and gets you 12% of all accessorise. Really good if you like endura, as it makes it cheaper than on-line.

Charlie is good, but doesn’t stock much, great for singlespeed bits though. Will point you at some awesome riding. Cyclexperience in Wareham is also ok, but you won’t get a discount, they do have good stock and wheel building though.

Primera in Bournemouth is also good.

The only rubbish shop was Dorchester Cycles, but that has now closed. Just avoid anywhere that also sells car parts!

They took a month to take payment for my bike ordered around the same time. I would double check your bank statements, but I did notice that I had a few grand more than expected in the bank!

It’s not unheard of. Miguel Indurain famously recorded a resting heart rate of 28, though I believe that was a one off even for him, and low 30s was more common

I think his blood was probably a bit like treacle TBF.

I’m 38 resting is 40 if I’m fit, 49 if I’m not, max 199. Wrist based hr is bound to be a bit flakey. I’ve got a phone app that uses the camera, quite good for occasional spot checks.

He was a bit reticent to divulge what he did for a living but he eventually admitted being an armed response officer for the Met

I had 2 pursuit coppers test drive my spec b legacy, both pretty hairy test drives!

I wouldn’t buy anything without test driving it, if it was a track car I would want to try in on a track ideally. Have you considered breaking it? I had a 200sx that I crashed while for sale, I ended up selling at parts and got more than I had it for sale for.
