Saracen bolts are ok, I got a second hand one for £70, quite heavy but work well and is robust. Would have got an Isla bike if I had the cash, the second have values are ridiculous.

It might fit, I’m 6″1 and can’t get anything bigger than a 54 to fit. Tell the shop you think it’s too small and get them to do a proper fit foc.

No problem at all, it was a bit tricky getting it blown up on a non tubeless Alex rim.

Bring back memories of the Halson Inverions I had in 1994 8) hopefully they will have more than 50mm travel!

Golden chetah is a bit like trainer road but free open source software. The UI is a bit crap, but if you have a supported trainer (kurk kinetic/tacx flow/tacx sartori and a few others) you get virtual power. All you need is an ant+ speed cadence sensor and dongle.

I find that it gives you enough to focus on. I think you can view vids via the software too, although I haven’t tried it.

There is another free one (virtual trainer?) but it on,y works on 64 bit windows or mac.

My old man had a forester 2.0xt for four yeas and it was faultless and pretty rapid, I had a spec b legacy estate that was epic! Fuel consumption is the only downside of both. Legacys are dirt cheap at the moment.

I paid one months payment at the end to buy the bike. 12month old scott scale 960 for £76, I’m sure I’ve seen them on ebay for more that 😉

I know a guy with a high end hi-fi shop, he sell speaker cable for >£1000/m! When I asked him what the best cable he sells i, he said it was the £2.99 stuff, why, because it sounds the same as the most expensive!

I had a similar issue, I ignored it and tried not to back pedal or freewheel, I destroyed the freehub on the first testing climb.

I can’t wait for the new enduro 50mm travel fork and flex stem combo. Progress at last 😕

Not those in particular, but I have recently bought some am45s and some Ro64, both in 45. The am45 are a lot bigger. I suggest you try some on before you buy.

Thanks OP for sharing. So I’m wondering why Strava are ok with sharing their data with veloviewer given that it seems to cut across what they offer with premium membership.

What jam Bo said, the heatmaps feature available to premium stravarers (or whatever the correct collective term for people who use strava is!)
started life like this. It’s a shame about the downhill thing as those are the only bits I score well on!

Spesh Purgatory/Ground Control is a pretty decent most conditions setup. Doesn’t excel at anything, but reasonably quick, predictable grip in pretty much any conditions, and they’re pretty cheap.

This^^^^ Does me all year round and only £30 each.

Scudo vans are a good size, you can get 3 up in the front (just). The 2.4 diesel is the same engine as the Alfa 156 and goes like stink.

    Workstand
Decent spanner set and socket set
Decent Allen keys (long ones with a ball end are handy)
    Cone wrenches
    Torque wrench
    Chain tool
    Chain whip
    Cassette tool
Hollow tech bb spanner (if applicable)
    Crank extractor (If applicable)
    Pedal spanner
    Cable cutters

This should cover most routine service jobs, as for quality, go for better quality on the tools you are likley to use the most. Can’t really go wrong with park or Pedro’s. Halfrauds professional spanners and sockets are pretty good, cheaper than bike specific ones. By spending more you generally get something that will work time and time again, some cheap tools are fine as you may only use them once a year.

So he got done for stealing £270 and had to pay £270 in compo, how’s that an incentive not to scam? There must have been loads of other he’s scammed.

Brake cleaner is IPA, halfords do one for about a fiver, probably cheaper from a local motor factor.

If you put it on autotrader you will be inundated with scams, when I sold my legacy I had 3 genuine enquiries and 10+scams. Pistonheads is good, but it depends on the car. If it is a run of the mill car try your local rag.

AM45’s are good if you don’t mind the weight/bulk, got mine for about £45.

You need an enduro stem, like a trial stem but not fun. It will make you corner much more seriously.
