May be true, but do I really want to drive forever in a cheap feeling car?

At least you will be driving!

Funny how if a vw has a reliability issue, it’s “just a few parts on a particular batch of cars” and has been blown out of all proportion, yet if another brand (alfa/fiat) has an issue it because they are all crap. VW’s marketeers must be praised for their ability to convince the owners of their mediocre machines that they are wonderfully reliable, despite the fact that there are in fact s##t.

The difference between VAG stuff and Japanese stuff can be summed up, based on personal experience, as follows:

VAG – Feels really good quality, but doesn’t last
Jap – Feels cheap, lasts forever

Also what get me is people criticise the likes of subaru for having expensive parts, this is irrelevant because you won’t need to buy any.

    Exactly this, especially your interpretation.

Often showing off in front of their friends, although I’ve had it from solo walkers too.

I had a 100db electronic bell back in the day, it was great for frightening ramblers with, particularly in dartmoor.

Big enough to ruin my wheels! Not on a trail bike though, 3foot on a ht landing in a narrow gulley.

I’ve got a 960, it’s great for xc, surprisingly good on more rad trails too. I do feel under biked on a lot of trails that I ride, and I don’t race xc. I will be swapping it out for a 130mm 29 fs and I have a cross bike for more sedate trails.

For you intended use , I couldn’t think of anything better.

I parked at the visitors centre and did the wall in the end, it was good until the hail froze my eyeballs! 1:34 total which was nice.

Having a go at stuff. Most people I know just won’t try an fix stuff or do a diy job, they seem to think because they haven’t done it they can’t do it. I am the opposite, if I need something done and someone else can do it, i assume that I can too and give it a whirl. Mostly I am right, I must be more awesome than my mates 😆

I have just sent my fixed penalty off, I decided to take the points rather than sit the course.
    My reasoning is as follows:

3 points makes no difference to my insurance premium
I would have to take a day off work (losing a days pay)
The fixed penalty goes to central government to spend on useful things (maybe?)
The £110 for the course would go to the local camera partnership to spend on more cameras

What really took the p***s is that the guy in the camera van was a former employee, whom I gave a blooming reference to allowing him to get the bloody job in the first place. Where the karma?

Late hijack, but bare with me. I am working right outside afan on Friday so will be taking my bike for a lunch break. I recon I can spare 1 1/2 hours, is the wall feasible in that time? I am fairly fit (less at the moment as it’s the off season!), other recommendations for an hour an a halls spirt are welcome.

I did a bit last winter, but hated it so I stick to mtb or cyclocross (some road). Rural roads that are pleasant during the day, become like riding through a tunnel at night. Nighttime views are much nicer on my local mtb loops.

Whats worse than nazi stems is when they are nazi stems sported by triathletes.

A,B and C are all wrong. It’s because most people spines are not as flexible as a pro cyclist’s. Easily solved by one of 2 options:

1 suffer like a proper roadie (surely suffering is half the point)
2 buy a cyclocross bike and don’t worry about being 1mph slower, you won’t notice the speed because you will be having fun rather than suffering.

    I opted for the later.

A bent piece of wire supporting the rearward facing pedal work, generally hidden by the rear tyre. Better than letting go IMHO.

I replaced all my kitchen ones because whenever the kids jumped down the step into the bathroom above the bulbs would blow. Payback was about 6week no including the electricity saving.

Swap the company car for a car allowance, spank the money on a sick new bike, and spend the change on a rubbish car you don’t mind soiling.

I’ve been out on the p***s with him after an interview I did for a student rag after human traffic came out. I thought he was alright then. He seemed to have toned down the cockney for his recent tv roles!

No higher rate taxpayers should be getting Child Benefit.
I think what irks the OP is the unfair way it is implemented.
Take a set of neighbours, both with the 2 kids. Once pair earn £49,999 each. In the other pair, one earns £60K and the other stays at home looking after the kids. The first family earn almost £100K and get £1800 child benefit. The second family don’t get any.
Taking it away from both families would be much fairer.

Not saying it’s right , but the first family contribute significantly more then the second.

What bugs me is when self employed folk who actually earn a lot, but account little profit still get £700 per month in tax credits, just plain wrong.

From the op’s point of view, clearly he should vote conservative and protect the interests of the we’ll off (not somthing I would condone).

I don’t know what it’s like to drive, I’m not that brave. It’s the single speed full sus, enduro fat bike of the family car world.

Nothing says “I have given up on life, and proud of it” like a zafira. If you want somthing to fit loads of kits/stuff in how about one of these.

    Can be had for £2k

    First, you need a beard.
    Second, speak to the bikemonger.
    Third, you need strong knees.

Try mole grips on the nipples, it might be enough to get the wheel straight, if not just cit the spokes of and rebuild.

    Have you tried this?
