    Volvo V90

    Skoda Octavia (VRS)

I’ve had both, both great in different ways. Volvo seats are the best.

These white elephants are keeping me in work, so can’t grumble.

Not sure why we can’t build power stations “off plan” like everyone else.

Petrol Octavia RS is the answer as that is what I have. You can get an adjustable boot floor so their is no lip.

I get 38 MPG long term from my 245.

We had a panda 1.3td, it was loads of fun at such low speed. Only sold it as it only sits 2 in the back.

    The 100Hp sound fun.

One of these would fit the bill.

Just swapped my monthly Tesco delivery to Waitrose✔️

    Espresso machine (proper one)✔️

    Aeropress✔️

    Rigid single speed✔️

    Gravel bike✔️

(from before that was even a thing)✔️✔️

    Gnar bike✔️

    Dont ride much!✔️

    Classless✔️

    Always right✔️

Build a massive bespoke garden space✔️

I’ve had a legacy spec b and my sister has a 2006 outback, both 3.0. Epic, wouldn’t bother with a 2.5. The outback is significantly less thirsty than the spec b (19mpg average!).

Quite a few examples of people driving fwd suv type stuff not realising they are for 4×4.

coming back from work down a short stretch of duel carriageway I sa doing about 40 in the clear lane, cumquat comes past me in the snow lane (been up my chuff for about 5 miles) realises 40 was about right and slams on the brakes, next thing I see her in the rear view mirror pirouetting across the verge!

I tried some Vibrocore bars out the other day. I though blimey, this is like having 5psi less in the fron tyre…….shortly after I rolled the tyre and landed on my face. Turned out I had a bloody puncture!

Need to try again, but I find the shape good and they were cheap.

I run one, I like it, tAke a bit of getting used to it under braking……….. feels like you are tugging the handbrake, good fun though.

Skoda Octavia, one that suites your budget.

I’ve had a few French cars; two 205’s, a 306, a Talbot samba, a 2cv, a Renault 5, only three of them fought fire. What put me of was the fact the dealer told be the 306 I had had 36 permeatations of drive belt, they could tell me which one was right!

New ones are probably fine, and bound to be more reliable than a BMW, Audi or Range Rover. Having said they I have a Skoda on order!

My guess is he probably had a nebuliser, that would be about 10-20 times the usual amount of salbutamol you would take via a puffer. Not very convenient to take during a race, so I would imagine the test picked up the remnance of this. If this is the case they would have records to cover it.

I can confirm that taking loads of salbutamol does not increase performance, just heart rest and hyperactivity!

Is there still a limit for cafeine?

I did one in the pan earlier, cheddar and salami on sourdough. It was truly awesome.

My first car, it was great. Removable back seats to form an impromptu sofa, was a winner with the ladies!

I rolled mine into a river and got wedged between two trees, quite exciting! The roof was only 300mm wide one I hasp did recovered it. I managed to fix it by removing the wings, parking against a wall and jacking the passenger side back straight.

Finally undone by a failed engine and gearbox.

Generally speaking, business models that are not about money are doomed from the start.

I’m sure the OP will sleep well tonight knowing when he starts his new job, he will be making more than Ling does.

This thread is great. Ling quoted on a skoda for me recently, wasn’t quite cheap enough so I went elsewhere, quite enjoyed the mental website once my eyes had adjusted!

Where I leased the car for asked for £500 upfront as a deposit, it I cancel they keep the £500, seems fair to me given they are ordering a specific vehilcle, build to order (in my case).

My previous lease I didn’t pay a penny until a month after delivery, not a penny!

Sounds to me like someone wants something they can’t afford (at the moment), gets someone else to finance it, realised they can’t afford it so changed their mind. Not sure why the lease company should take all the risk in this instance, just from a moral perspective.

Just off to make another cuppa.

I would say (for me), the length is more limiting. I can get up 25+% no bother, but struggle with longer climbs of <10%.

My mantra is keep it short and keep it steep.

I love it, almost as good as riding bikes. Just need some loud music and a decent place to work. The added bonus is free beer from fixing other people’s bikes..

I can do most DIY stuff, platerting included. Can’t fit carpet for s**t, it looks so easy, but it’s one of those things that has to be perfect.

    Time to pay the man.
