Yeah that’s the fella. Just found the hardware on on their site, not the linkage though. Guy in the shop said distributor had changed still under madison though. Must be like an umbrella arrangement.

Cheers guys. Seems to be that the gear is quite hard and would probably need changing. Was good to see someone actually ising one out on the trails like i want to.

Love this thread. I found a snap on socket spanner, an old rusty adjustable spanner that i take out with me when I’m on the fixie and a blackburn pump by the road over the years. Thought i found a set of white oakley radars but thwy turned out to be just cheap no name jobbies. On the trailside I seem to find a huge amount of anodized red rock shox rebound adjusters.

I dropped a bottle on one of the first jumps on lower cliff over chase and when i went back to collect it i notices there were loads of computers and bottles that had fallen to the same fate.

I ran dual Ardents then slashed one. Bought a minion for the front and it is the the best tyre i have ever used. Im now going to go dual minions front and rear when the weather fully turns. The high roller doesn’t seem to have the purchase my mate runs this front and back and I personally don’t think they are even close an an all round tyre.

These frames are so cool. My brother has one at the moment in blue and its a rwally nice bike. He is selling the frame now though as he i just going to keep a full suspension. It is a small or medium i think. Nice thing is they are very versatile, they were a bit too expensive when new in my opinion but a steal second hand.

Are the top hats on that link du bushes anyway? When i say worn i mean that the they were not on the bike that long. They had no vertical movement but I could move the back end laterally and I thought a bit of this could be attributed to the rough endges that looked a bit worn.

They are not going onto the shock just the frame linkage. Could someone please explain to me why these would not work?

People need to lighten up and stop putting a downer on things. Sounds class to ride an ace race circuit with some interesting people to talk to on the way round, not only this you can spend an evening with your child riding around with them in relative safety off the roads with friends so you can all enjoy it.

    Whats not to like?

    Ariel here. Ace bike!

Defo large. I am 5ft 11 and I ride a large. The top tubes are short too so the medium will feel short.

    Hope this helps.

Ride nice the linkage works well. My mates have a 9.1and 9.2 and the value is ace. All the spare parts for them are so cheap. You can order all spares through the workshop, full bearings for the frame cost about 15pounds and the shock bushings are about 6pounds.

    Thanks guys,

The cranks fit on fine and the tab goes in with no guide on. I did make sure I tapped it on when I fitted it.. I am now thinking that it may have come loose and the damaged splines are causing the problems. Is the sting 2.5mm wide?

Ran mine 120 and it was bas ass. Did everything well but I wouldn’t have gone to 140. 130 is about max I would go to.

Dam you boardinbob, I have just looked at the smorgasbord tyres and everyone is raving about them and they are so cheap. I could buy the pair for not much more than a single minion. Talk to me peeps, I am very confused. I looked at the butcher too but they are a little pricey in comparison. I bet the smorgasborgs last a lot longer on the sidewalks too.

Ok worth bearing in mind. Just like the tyres, good value and good quality, used to use them then went to schwalbles and others and just gone back to maxxis and love them.

I have tried minion front hr rear on a friends bike and it was nice. I have also tried hr front and rear and that seemed ok too but I have an ardent already which works well on the back so think an aggressive minion on the front would be good combo.

Thanks for the comments guys. I think I will be going for the minion, I did like the ardent and will give it another thought.

You can just buy a metal circular clamp to replace the matchmaker. They look really tidy too and they are OEM. Try chain reation cycles or something. I bought one and it cost about 5pounds.

Cheers Waldo, I didn’t start the thread to bad mouth you and I never stated you were not to be trusted, I defended you, it could have been the postal service that dropped the ball for example.

I was just wondering why I could not get in contact with you and thought you may have friends on the forum who could contact you, or fill in any gaps.

As you can imagine there are good genuine people about but there are also people who will take you for a ride. Luckily on this forum most of people are good genuine people and that’s great to see but you can see why people get nervous at times?

I will let you know, by email 😉 when the parts are received LOL.

How much is the other race face chainset with the renthal ring and would you sell just the ring and bolts seperate?

    Cheers

This isn’t a slanging match and I’m not bad mouthing anyone. Was just wondering if he has any friends on here who can contact him. Or if anyone has done any deals with him before.

I did a transfer as I couldn’t access PayPal on the tablet I was on. I know he comes on to sell bits, I just can’t contact him.

There are some good dh runs over Abberley by great Whitley, and at Ribbesford. The wyre has some amazing trails but you just need to get over there and explore. Ludlow had some amazing stuff too, along with the mynd and hopton.

I can see where you are coming from, without being condescending.

I also have an old anthem and it’s a great bike. It punches well above its weight. I can’t see how the newer model is going to be that much better to warrant buying one. I can seee where DrR Swank is coming from too. Orange’s older models are timeless.

I have a cx bike and an MTB but I have taken my cx around cannock chase and it even coped with all the black runs.

However, it would be advisable to put inline brakes levers on for the tops, as some parts had to be riddin virtually brakeless. Take a couple of tubes out as I had a couple of punctures and you will have to have no regard for mechanical sympathy,as the bike will get battered.

Honestly I can’t think of a trail centre you couldn’t ride one. You just have to be a little more sensible in some places.

32T front, with 11-32 out back. Perfect for everywhere I feel.

That is honestly the best colour scheme I have seen in ages. I bet you didn’t see many people complaining when orange brought out their fluoro colour ways.

+1 On what GW said. Had to do that a few times at places. 😉 Honestly you will be fine. Haven’t had problems on Weirwolf drop before?

I run 780’s round chase pretty much weekly and there are only about 4 places to watch. They’re all in pretty boring places, not on descents or anything.

You will not get better than Renthal. Best by far and ace value. Look it up in Dirt 100.

SPD-R’s are the best but only available second hand now as mentioned before.

Any track will allow any pedals. The speedplays are ace but quite expensive. I use SPD-SL’s on all my bikes, road and track and they are the best. Great performance and great value.

I would say 100% guaranteed go for the SL’s you won’t regret it.

    Cheers

Fully rigid is brilliant. It seems to make the bike so much more responsive abd you always know where the front wheel is. It does take a bit of getting used to. I had sore wrists the first couple of rides and what seemed like a bit of tennis elbow but you do get used it. It will also improve your riding skills so much as you won’t be relying on anything other than your body to do the work. I would play around with front tyres and find one you like and that you can run a bit softer. My preference would be to go steel. I have run steel and carbon and just prefer the way steel feels.
