Cheers Kayak. I rode Bringewood last week and it was in a bit of a state. In your opinion are the ones below the DH track worth riding or just keep to the stuff at the top?

The field campsite never fills up. Doubt it has this year so don’t stress. If that fails Aberystwyth is about 20mins away and should have loads of accommodation too. Cleric has a nice campsite just outside aber too. Also about 20mins away.

Also I really like the look of that Fugio but its way out of my price range at the moment.

Yeah I have ridden road before on some decent canti cross bikes and had some OK results. They are not too much of a compromise. I really want discs though this time and maybe something that can take more than a 35mm tyre. I have done monkey and follow the dog including all the blacks on an old paul milnes cx bike I had. With the 32s though I did get a couple if punctures and I did feel a bit more tyre may have had it a lot more comfortable. I don’t want to dwell on it being used for road racing too much. I just dont want it to be a complete slouch on the road. I really like the tripster and it could work. What else is out there like it?

Looking at the top tube it’s a specialized isn’t it.

Lol. Never saw the headbutting incident so i may have to retract my statement. Although I’m sure some paparazzi deserve it sometimes.

Don’t agree with Jay Kay though. I have always loved him. He is maybe a little self loving but he never comes across as selfish or mean person.

    Arctic Monkeys.

Alex wasn’t too bad when he started but has seemed to have become worse with increased fame.

If your asking the question you have already missed out on so much he has done. Just move along.

Consider going a size up on a YT. On my Capra I ride and XL as the large would feel a little short for me by todays standards.

Epic race. I love Nino but it was good to see him get beaten for a change. Hes soooo good to watch but to be honest once Gaze got into a rhythm he was techinically on a par with him.

He said in the post race interview that he had the legs to pass him in the sprint but even if his foot hadnt come out i dont think he had it in him.

The whole grip moves but you mainly notice it at the end of the bar.

I bashed the ends of them when i installed then to make sure they were on. Checked the lockrings were tight too. First two rides were fine but a wet one today and they start slipping.

    Yep they are right on.

Didn’t know FOD had had snow. I assumed Cwmcarn had even though in hindsight they are not a million miles away from each other.

I have ridden FTD and Monkey on a cross bike including all the black sections but some bits are challenging.

You could get round monkey avoiding the blacks easily on one but it may involve walking a couple of sections if your not too confident. The main problem is impact punctures even with hard tyres.

If you just head out from the campsite in the opposite direction to Swinnertons there are loads of bits to explore around there.

I have a Ragley Piglet 2 frame that I’m selling. I have had an original piglet, a 456 EVO and my mate has a summer season. The Piglet 2 is the best frame of those in my opinion. Decent sizing, nice head angle with 1.5 headtube, can run a sensible dropper post rather than something 27.2. Its near new condition and comes with headset and seatclamp. Pm me on here or email me at tomhib13@gmail.com if you want to know anymore.

I’m not saying they were better than the jap stuff. I prefer the jap stuff but the price difference is astronomical. I have only ever really been around jap 2 Stokes in our family but my dad had an mz as a commuter and it was great. Hence me giving it a new lease of life.

A lot of people compare them with the jawas that were around at the same time that were pretty poor hence the bad name tarnishing them too.

I know a few guys that have bough cheap Suzuki savages and Yamaha xs’ and done flat track or bobber variants on those and they gave been great. Not huge money. You just have to watch out as silly things like wheels, tyres and exhausts can add 1500 on to a project to get the right look if you have your heart set on a certain style.

I don’t have any pics on my phone sorry. It will be somewhat like the one in the picture but with a different exhaust and chrome rims. Keeping my tank the original colour too as it has a nice bit of wear on it.

Yeah that exhaust doesn’t look to have a spannie so doubt it would be very effective and the power band would be none existent.

As Rusty spanner said a they are no crap. Reliability wise they are bombproof and if you get an ETZ 250 you can’t go wrong. I can’t comment on the later 251 variants.

Switch gear is basic but they are so simple and cheap to replace. You could just loose all the indicators and just run lights. I am converting mine to a café racer at the moment and just going as simple as possible. I have no ignition system just a hidden switch somewhere on the bike. I am trying to source a pipe from the racing club as they change the designs of them meaning the older versions get sold off from time to time. I have then just used the rear footrests and dropped the carrier off for the front rests. You will need to mod the brake lever and I have the gears reversed (I tell myself it’s like a moto gp bike ha) I have lost the indicators, mounted a different seat with a battery in the rear hump, will prob be premix. If you go the café racer route you will have to use the rear foot rests meaning two up won’t be an option. It is so uncomfortable if you do not do this. But the position you end up in on the rears is not far off perfect when you are lay on the tank.

I think this one looks ace (minus the exhaust) and nothing on it is overly fancy.

If you want something cool, simple and a bit of fun get an ETZ 250. Not going to set the world on fire. Nice and light comparatively so you can throw it around, still has a decent power band. The racing club do loads of aftermarket bits for them such as expansion chambers. There are sites from over the channel offering ridiculously cheap spares and it just screams it be made into a cafe racer with a set of ace bars or clip ons.

I think by getting an older two stroke you get all the nostalgia, sometimes the prices can be premium but if you look around there are bikes to be had. I’m desperate to build an old 70s 2stoke flat/street tracker from some of the Mx spares we have.

I bought an AR rolling chassis of here and would definitely recommend one. Had it about a month. Did tour of the black country on it and it was really good all round. Nice on the road and good off road with the right tyres. Wheels are very cheap though and need replacing.

I went for the giant connect xr bars. Looked at the genetic’s and the love muds but saw the price of the giants and couldn’t say no. They are great bars for the money and couldn’t reccomend them enough. The 44’s come out at a decent width too as I like them wide.

Good to know. I really need to demo one but they are in short supply at the moment.
Might have to try the bird out.

Awesome bike mate. Could you give me an idea of how much is cost. If you dont want to say don’t worry that is fine. I just wanted to know if it’s in my price range or not.

Friend has a 30.9 or 31.8, whichever they are, which needs constant work. I had a 27.2, serviced it once as it was exceptionally stiff on the next ride it went stiff again only to realise when I got back it was bent. I put a lot of people posts failing to them being slightly bent, as mine also went very metallic before I realised. The larger diameter posts may be better but don’t even bother touching a 27.2 just a complete waste of money.

Ah man, have probably missed it. Are there still places tazzy or any way of still getting an entry?

Might sound stupid but can you still enter this then? Did I see that entries closed on the 31st July?

I saw those too. I think that’s why these have been reduced.

Was in this situation too. Get the old 4g moto g for around £90 from tesco with cash back. Online doesn’t have it so you will have to find one in a store. If that fails buy the new one but if you can find an old one they are better vfm.

Ha this is exactly what I am saying and the variety of posts above just prove my earlier case of the mix of people on here. I haven’t slated anyone and your calling me a dick?

My hub is perfectly fine and I would not have gone to the extent of damaging it. I was just asking for a bit of advice to see if anyone else has had issues. Thanks to the guys who have provided me with information I was after.

Why is everyone so quick to slate me and my abilities? That’s the problem on here there are so many idoits just waiting to put people down and prove the supposed superiority. Like I say I don’t want your negative feedback.

Cheers for that guys that helped and yes I have removed the circlip I was using a proper guide.

I not asking you to judge my workmanship. I am a very competent mechanic trust me. But even with the tools I had the inner freehub body just seemed like a poor design and I just wanted to know of peoples solutions to these problems. And trust me smash the right word in this case. What harm is a little score on the face going to do.

    tom13

I totally agree about the right tools making life easier but I had enough tools at my disposal to make it relativley easy. You have to admit the dual bearing surface inside the freehub is a faff. What is the tool like for the seating and removal of those? Is it exactly the same size as the hole on the back of the freehun so when you drift it out it comes out straight?

Cheers guys. The BB is quite high so a drop would not matter. I think the seattube is quite slack as it is and that is my major concern. I am thinking that if I start with the slackest, the stack is a bit lower than a standard headset so that should bring the seatube forward a bit. If I start with 2degrees on the headset I can see how that feels then adjust the bushings if I need. Just wanted to see if anyone has any pictures of it been done on an asx.

I love mine and would definitely buy another. Its such a good all rounder, I don’t think I will ever sell it. Its the Mk2 and the build quality is superb, I am currently trying to collect a mixture of Dialled bikes. I recently bought an mx20 and the next on the list is a Holeshot.

Ignoring all the other stuff as i don’t really care about who rides what or who does what with their stuff, Cannock is ace. Its a good challenging trail and this adds to the character of it. Its not too easy just nice, only downside is that it eats your bike.
