I have the same van as you mention and love it. Mines on alot higher miles though.
Regarding speed limits I’m sure if you get a tourneo you don’t have to worry about it. Also I don’t know if you are but if you just search tourneo you can get some bargain tourneo connects pop up that have been partly or miss advertised.
Mines an ex police connect with side windows and seats. Price wise they are expensive with the seats and windows but you could buy one at a fraction of your budget and invest in converting the rear seats and adding windows. They supposedly all have the footwells in even if they appear to have a flat floor, you just need to remove the plates.
You will want to check belts have been done including the wet belt. Clutch is ok and that the injectors are as well. Also check sills for rust.

Each to there own but the mounts were the worst thing about it for me. Go pro with a Allen bolt instead of the flip lock was bad and the rubbers were even worse. Fine in gravel but for proper MTB they were useless for me. The only way I could have seen an inporvement was with a aluminium mount.

Don’t buy the halfords one. The mounts are rubbish. They move all over the place on roughly terrain. You would need to buy an aluminium mount to go with them. Mine also had charging issues.

Planet X XLA is a bargain at the moment.

Gusset Single file grips are really nice. I bought a pair of Deathgrips and just didn’t like them. They are cheap, comfy, grippy, come in loads of colours and last exceptionally well.

I have the Zero TR and would recommend it. Great bike and a very good price.

Try the Wyre Forest. The trails will be quiet and some are easy to get around for all ages and the singletrack is great. PM me if you want a bit of info.

Gave you all the wrong measurements by mistake. Its 5m x 3m x 1.5 – 2 inches thick. It is going to be a base for my garage which is up but the floor is a mixture of slab and compacted gravel/soil so I want a more consistent surface.

Im going to try the shimano cassette first then use the spacers form the Campagnolo cassette I have if that doesn’t work.

Yeah I was adamant they were. I ideally want all the gears to be working perfectly as well so I will have to find a cassette. If anyone has one just let me know.

Dyfi Enduro is on the same weekend. That is well worth doing if you get an entry. We camp in the field and it’s always a good atmosphere. The comedy people have the field next to it to camp as well but everyone shares the facilities such as the bar.
Devils bridge isn’t too far away but still about 30mins. And there are some nice harbours just south of Aberystwyth. Aberdyfi is really nice as well.

I Like Blake but would love to see Roczen or Barcia win. Thought Roczen was very unlucky as well.

Cheers for the reply. I do watch the Highlights on Youtube but they always seem really short. I like a bit of the pre race stuff as well.

Appreciate the feedback guys. I liking that people are using and abusing them. They did say I could mess about with an Angleset with no need to worry about strength.

I get what you mean about trying them on. I fall pretty well between a 44 and 45 EU normally so can go up or down without too much of a problem. Didn’t seen those Scuff, or I may have discounted them for some reason. Will have another look if I pop back in though.

Good in terms of maintenance and if you have relatively smooth flowing singletrack by you it will feel great as you feel everything. A decent volume front tyre works really well with them and choice of forks makes a huge difference. With a standard tyre though you will notice less front end grip as the front doesn’t track as well and it can be very hard going on the arms even if the going isn’t that rough.

Just incase anyone on here is interested. I have a cheap fixed frame and fork. The generic modern steel type. Good condition in baby blue, suit rider about 5ft 3 to 5ft 6. I would like to swap it for a bigger fixed frame (im 5ft 11) ifpossible. If you’re interested pm me.

The new bikehut light is epic for the money and with the remire you can toggle the modes easily to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic.

That bikehut light is epic for the money. Had my first ride with it last night. You will be amazed. As with all rubber mounted lights though it moves in the rough bits so you may want to run the GPS mount that comes with it.

I’m liking people recommendations. I won’t lie I am being put off by French and I’m sorry but I will never touch a Vauxhall.

The Sedona is still an options, the new Galaxy is really taking my fancy 2006 onwards with the flat floor. What’s peoples opinions of them. I will have a look at what takisawa2 said as well and see how much the older models fetch. I do like those older ones as they have masses of space too.

Cheers for the input guys, its good to get a real world opinion. I could get an estate but I was lusting after a van (t5, transit) but decided I could get a better people carrier for the money. Having the Elgrand previously showed me how much more space they really have over an estate, as I had 3 estates before it.

I get what people are saying about budget but I paid sub 2 grand for my Elgrand and while it was an older car (1997) it was spot on reliability wise. With all the new 4×4 style cars they are a bit unfashionable at the moment so I have seen some bargains about but I know what people mean about buying a dog though.

I was half thinking something French or Euro but I had my doubts about reliability, I am glad you have steered me in the right direction.

I looked at the Carens and the Verso but in my head they seem a bit small? I think I need to see one in the flesh.

At the moment I am thinking some type of Ford and maybe lower my mpg expectations, a Mitsubishi Grandis, maybe a Mazda 5 but I need to do more research on them or a Kia Sedona (why did timba mention 2006 onwards? Were there issues before then?)

Woody2000 I get what you mean about an older car and reliability is a huge criteria. I want the best MPG possible as I want to do a lot of miles in this and I don’t want to not go places because I know how expensive it will be to get there. Something I was doing in the Elgrand as it was so thirsty.

Onzadog really appreciate your comment but I don’t think I will ever buy a Vauxhall. In my opinion they are just really awful cars. Shame as the Meriva and Zafira look good though. I always heard bad stuff about Renault and Citreon but don’t have any evidence to back that up but there people carriers like the Espace look good for size. Kia Sedona looks goods for size too but same again I don’t have any knowledge on them.

Mine does the same. Its needs the bearing replacing rather than changing. Grease cured it for about 2 weeks.

The shop ride has a faster and slower group and they know some good trails. If you pm me I can give you some more details.

I like the feel of a rising rate. Means you can run it softer and enjoy a smooth ride and not worry about bottoming out when you hit bigger stuff. Took me ages to set my bike up but I am there abouts now. It does use quite a lot on big hits but I’m happy it’s not bottoming out.

I would recommend taking the bike out with a shock pump. Use the sag as an initial starting point and work from there. 30% is only a rough guide anyway. Just keep dripping 5psi until you are happy with the travel you are using. You will have to push it a bit though to make sure you are happy on it when the bikes taking bigger hits.

I have had quite a few but if you want a fun little 20inch mod get a late model Onza with decent brakes not vees unless they are really well set up.

Something like a 24inch Inspired or Zoot may be easier to manage though and better for more all round riding but prices are higher. Out and out trials bikes are really good at hopping on the back wheel but more street styled bikes are just as capable for mere mortals and more fun on the street and skateparks.

Thought the same when I read it earlier. It gets the shock factor that’s for sure but it doesn’t make for a pleasant read. It gets publicity though so I can see why the parents want it, as it can only help their efforts for better packaging.

Look out for a second hand Boardman Pro (green/black). They don’t sell for much, I sold mine for about £450 but it was a really good bike. Only sold it as I went for a Stooge.

I did mean 8×4 sorry it was a typo. I was told by a timber merchant that marine would be overkill for my needs. Could anyone expand any more on the OSB3. If there is a big price difference it may be worth going for.

Nice ideas. I liked the look of the Decathlon one but wanted a rechargeable one ideally. The do do one but the battery life is poor.

I have a joystick and one of the beacon covers but I use the joystick as my main light when not using the lantern as it is pitch black where we are going, so need a backup ideally.

Any older Lexus. Can’t go wrong. Better value for money than a BMW at the moment but prices are rising.
