Great choices. Seen saw doctors many times and they are 10/10. Also seen Utah Saints, also 10/10.

Vaults with Kingpins are the best I think. My other choices would be Pembree or Penthouse.

If you have the option of a road bike just do it on that.

It will be 100x more pleasant. I bet 95% of the field will be on them and there is good reason for that. You would be very unlucky if you puncture with a bit of careful riding and the tyres at a fair pressure.

The paths we do on ours would make this look insignificant in the grand sense.

Stop at Peebles and ride all around there.

What about a T4. Options of short or LWB. Good range of engines which are all pretty reliable. Easy to put seats in the rear. Hold their money well. Easier to work on if you are that way inclined.

Can’t go wrong with them. Bought mine from the first batch of frame onlys they released.

Been used and abused all year round and it’s great. Yes it doesn’t manual well as the stays are too long but it does tight twisty single singletrack with ease. I ride an XL for reference as well. It’s just so stable you will feel so safe on it it’s unreal.

I would ditch the gyro go back to a single cable. Chrome rear rims work better (in the dry) although you can sand or rub tar on a standard rim to help it a little. Finally a set of soft pads.

If this fails, if it can take it get a v brake on there. Or if you feel flash a Magura rim brake with non evo mounts.

A 70s or 80s 2 stroke trail bike might suit you well. TS, RT1, DT etc. Buy and Import from the states and register it or buy one that is already over here.

Cool for days, great on smaller roads, can be taken on the lanes, relatively easy to look after at home, more than powerful enough, low stand over, super easy to ride, light.

Drums are the only questionable area but they aren’t that bad when set up and you adjust your riding accordingly. Not as comfortable if you are doing big days in the saddle in comparison to a newer bike but more than happy to sit at 60-70 if you get a bigger capacity one. The smaller sub 250cc will happily do 50-60 constant.

Are you kidding? It’s a great line up. That there is some of the Uk’s best and most entertaining riding talent. I would like to see who else they could invite that would be more exciting to watch than the likes or Fairclough or Atwill for example. It will be a sight to behold.

It has been sitting a while before being put on this bike. I would say the noise is maybe a thud sound. No damage that I can see.
I thought it was an equalisation thing but yeah it happens a bit deeper into the stroke.

Looking at matts pictures clearance on that Merlin loks good.

Yeah I’m not after a tourer. Don’t mind cx or gravel geo. Its more tyre clearance that is proving to be a bigger factor.

The Merlin looks good but with the 40mm max clearance I may hold out for the moment. I have been looking at the sonder as well and they look a good buy. Nordest look nice but are getting pricey, tripster is nice but getting pricey again. Marino custom is looking a very good option but need to check the lead times on one.

Thanks for all the replies. Graveendgeunt that is just the picture I was looking for. What size frame and wheel size is that.

I have seen the Oxford one but looking at the reviews people have slated it for damaging frames and just generally being a bit cheap.

£6 camping £10 parking. There has been an email go out for early entry so keep a look out for it or ask your mates to send it you if they entered on your behalf last year. It’s only a generic code that needs to be applied but I don’t want to be the person that ruins it by putting it on here.

Bit random but those 29er Boardman pro hardtails are pretty good frames. I had one in large and it did a lot of things very well. It was decent on a pumotrack with the saddle down and the frames are cheap.

I haven’t seen any emails from them after the one confirming what size I wanted. What sizes did you order? Mine was an XL.

You can buy brakeless BMX bikes without tabs even installed on the frame so I am sure you can buy one without brakes installed. Wasn’t there something stating if it didn’t come with pedals if was effectively a sum of parts? I may be wrong on that one?
If you want to install brakes you need to make sure that the tabs are being supplied as well. You can normally buy tabs from certain more specific shops.

Connect Tourneo would be ideal, or a long wheel base standard one with seats installed in the back. If you get a Tourneo the three seats in the rear fold forward out of the way. You will struggle to find a petrol one though as they didn’t make many at all.
Old Japanese people carriers such as early Elgrands or Estimas would be good. Something early like an e50 model is cheap to buy and super reliable. Diesel and petrol versions but they are a bit thirsty and tax isn’t overly cheap but they do fall into the old tax system.

Providing the seats actually fit the opening you can easily adapt brackets to make them work. You have to be careful if you have items such as heated seats or they are electronically adjusted. You can splice into the harness but they don’t always work. Some do though if you buy from the same manufacturers.
You have options of adapting the brackets on the bottom of your new seats to fit the runners of your existing, or having brackets made to adapt your new seats to the existing mounting points. It’s worth seeing what the dimensions of a set of 159 seats are and then what their mounting dimensions are and then going from there.

I had an e50 elgrand as well. Was a great car but very thirsty. Connect is much more convenient.
