A couple of years back in Stoke-on-Trent a bloke was murdered by his neighbor as a result of a planning dispute….

I’d urge everybody reading this thread to read the Vaughters comments on the cyclingnews forum linked on a previous page-very interesting stuff.

an awful lot of people on stw seem to tell people what drugs they’ve taken at every given opportunity-its always struck me as a little odd that.

Vuelta has been ace though! (although in 5 years we’ll probably look back at it as ‘the bad old days of doping’!)

Is the Bailey Assraper still available :-)

I’ve always found towing and reversing a doddle tbh-my dad can’t reverse his caravan for toffee though-he’s a good driver too (ex instructor!)

Alko stabaliisers are the best invention ever imo. Holds things rock steady.

I watched the second half of the race today-really enjoyed it, and its the only live action that I’ve seen all year. I’ll never pay for sky so my interest has been almost non existant this year after only missing 15 or so races from the ages of 5-25 :-(

Daft move by Grosjean-I’ve just read that he hasn’t completed the first lap unscathed 7/12 times this year 8O not quite sure it warranted a ban, but as said above, Teflonso was very lucky!

What Hamilton is thinking these days is beyond me-last year his head was completely gone. This year he seemed to start with a much more mature attitude, but of late he has been worse than ever! He gets worse with age, and from being an absolute hero of mine when he won GP2 and had his amazing first year, I can bear to watch an interview with him now.

Are Renault allowed to field a reserve driver or are they only allowed to run 1 car?

You seem mighty proud to have been banned-is that a big hitter thing?

Rumor has it that all of the evidence will be released by USADA after all of the investigations are over. Bruyneel is choosing arbitration so a lot of it should come out in court then, but Travis Tygart has suggested that all of the evidence will be released in due course.

Sad day, but cycling will move on. It’s not the only sport to be tainted by huge cheating (remember the Serie A match fixing scandals?) The past two years have given two winner whom most people believe are clean, power outputs and climb speeds are down, here’s hoping for a cleaner future.

    What constitutes 100% evidence Hora?

It will look bad Hora…..should they just leave it be then?

His father said “Oh well, boys will be boys.” Prince Charles on the other hand, is said to be disappointed.

    Predictable, but still hilarious :-)

LA has to decide whether or not to contest USADA by tomorrow…

See it’s at this point Hora that you start contradicting yourself-why would it be depressing? You claim to want to wait and see over LA yet you seem to have made your mind up about the rest of the peloton.

Lance isn’t doing Ironman, he’s banned.

I can’t believe that you’ve still got the nerve to post on this forum, but there we go.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/cycling/8530063/Lance-Armstrong-denies-claims-as-Tyler-Hamilton-alleges-seven-time-Tour-de-France-winner-tested-positive-in-2001.html

Tyler Hamilton and apparently George Hincapie too have testified it (I’d guess that this will come out if LA decides to contest the doping charges) A link was posted to the source of the 100k Euro payment claim on Bike Radar a while back….I can’t find it now if I’m honest-it may even have been a Livestrong fund transfer?

He has a positive test Hora….at about the same time as he donated a lot of money to the UCI to help them to catch out dopers.

They weren’t all cheating though. Its pretty safe to say that Evans was clean back then…his 8th place one year would actually become first non subsequently banned rider if LA gets popped.

….and the old sage of ‘they were all at it so he must have been better’ is just a ridiculous arguement. Surely different people will react in different ways to doping, LA had the biggest budget in cycling so would have had the best program available too, plus some are willing to take more risks with their health with regards to doping than others.

Which of Lance’s teammates have ever tested positive then Hora?

Who on US Postal failed a drug test Hora? Other than Landis…..

    Lol @ Higgo!

Hora if his entire team admits to systematic doping being carried out by US Postal/Discovery etc then why shouldn’t Lance be charged? Are we to believe that everybody on the team but him were doping?

I don’t really care about his legacy etc-I’ve got cancer survivors in my family whom will always be much bigger ‘heros’ to me. At the end of the day, his cycling career needs to be judged solely on what he did as a cyclist and not take into account his cancer. You can’t go giving his victories to other riders because in most years the majority of the top 10 have already been popped. Just stick a load of asterix by his wins and move on-he needs to be brought to justice to ensure a cleaner future for the sport though.

I’m thinking that he will just accept the ban without challenging it, say that it was pointless contesting as everyone was out to get him, and continue to spout the ‘most tested athlete in history and never a positive test’ line to the grave…

    There wasn’t a prologue…..anything over (I think 8km) is a stage proper….the TTT was definitely stage 1

    Tom-B

Stage 3 today not stage 2….cracking finish but I’m 50/50 as to whether Bertie is clean now (doubtful) and the stage winner has found some form from nowhere after struggling in the Tour, he is now showing better climbing form than Froome.

Ace pics. I’ve been looking at the alpkit sleeping mats….they do a few that are £40 that are pretty light. Can anybody recommend me a cheap sleeping bag?

Cav will be at OPQS next year…..ex HTC DS’s are there and they have zero GC hopes-him and Boonen may clash at say San Remo, but other than that it seems an ideal fit.

I had him…tough between hm and Swift I guess, but he has a slightly better kick and a slightly better palmares imo.

Just seen that the alpkit dry bags are back in stock. A question: How well will they attach to a hardtail using just straps and no rack/clever homemade cages? I’m thinking of a 13l on my bars and a 20l strapped to my seatpost and saddle…..will I die?

I’d go for rowing, marathon, triathlon, open water swim and possibly the TT for the toughest events given how fecked the athletes looked at the end.
