    Wife bought me a bike
    I bought her a Wii
Best of both worlds? Mind you I do hate computer games. And I did buy her a bike a few months back.

Its not light but most of that is the fork. With a carbon fork in there it’ll be much better. (I’m looking at getting a carbon fork but will probably leave it until the end of Jan as I want to ride it as is for now)
I’ve not bothered to weigh it as I’m not all that concerned about it as it rides fantastic.

    Definites for next year are:
    March Scotland
End of March Tour of Flanders Sportif
    End of April SSEC France
    End of May Belgian SS
Aug/Sep French/Swiss Alps for a week then onto Italian Alps for a week and a SS event in Italy at the end of the trip.
Dutch SS champs date to be confirmed
Wales without a doubt will be done as will the FOD and Cotswolds
Also need to get back into the Peaks with a few guys from on here.
And on the to do but no plans yet are: Snowdon, SDW, Mendips amoungst a few.

Spares from either Sideways Cycles or from Simpson Cycle Services (07986 411 810) Craig Simpson used to work for Extra when they imported Maverick and now holds a good amount of stock. Service is fantastic and prices are reasonable too, I use him anytime I need anything for any of my 3 sets of Maverick forks.

I like them because they’re easily serviced at home, tunable and they work well. I do think the Duc’s are ugly though.

Why not use the real thing?

In the winter it tends to go a bit too hard and the hub slips, its the same lube for the bearings which I wouldn’t consider using anything else on (The hubs I’m talking about as I use Rock n Roll White sticky stuff on the BB bearings). As long as you make sure its lubed up when you’re riding you won’t go far wrong with most chain lubes although they can go dry after a wee while which will wear out your ring…….. and that’s never a pleasant experience

In the winter I use wet lube or suspension oil 7.5wt. It must be changed/topped up from time to time though.

Cwm carn and Afan runs would be more technical than FOD

Lol, you don’t know where to ride in the FOD then ;-)

There’s nothing much technical in the Cotswolds

Don’t own one yet :-) They have been on my ‘hit’ list for a while now and I may be getting something nice made by someone next year if I don’t give into my Jones yearnings.
My friend in Germany has one, I know she loves it. You may have seen her on it at SSWC in Ireland?
