Won’t be able to use flats as they’re too bumpy. There may be a rat if or a rat Mav available as gears are needed!

Are they really running the course anti clockwise? How bizarre, all the good descents are climbs and no descent descents! Glad I’m doing the CHONC.

My wife sells a lot if Ti rings in her shop, Ti is harder to cut off but shouldn’t be a major issue. If you need any help my email is in the profile.

It’s the seal to stop grease coming out and crap getting in! Take out the metal Snap Ring (big washer like thing with a split in it) that secures the seal in place refit the seal (rubber bit) replace snap ring. Easy job done.

I’ve got Dogtag multi trip extreme insurance.
Shouldn’t need it for SSEC as I’ll not be using a bike, what’s the point? You’ll get 4th place regardless.

Bars and levers are where they’re comfortable, any lower then my lower back suffers! Could do with a 54 rather than a 56. It may be for sale later in the year.

The Mav forks would need a piece in the top to reduce the travel so the tyre doesn’t bottom out on the crown.

Rich the CK stuff seems to be too viscous over here when it’s cold, works well in the summer though. I used green oil on my last few services works a treat.

Chris, the issue doesn’t occur on a SS.
Postie you’ll find that one or both of the bearings in the freehub part are tight, ime it’s normally the roller bearing that gets a little tight. Or you’ve tensioned the axle up too tight.
