Problem? Harry? The movie is ancient, and a bad remake.

We don't mind cats coming into our garden. Makes for good viewing when they see our bull mastiff running toward them.

Bloody amazing how fast a cat can clear a 2m fence! 😆

At 7200 lumens you are going to down planes,, that's an impressive bit of kit. I am all in favour of individuals producing and selling gear that is better than the obvious mainstream choice that we tend to have.

I think that most people would buy British, if the price is competitive with imports. Doesn't havet to be as cheap, but close enough for us to question buying a cheaper more unreliable light. The comment about buying 2 lights has been made on other forums too, and is an option, why not? it's so cheap.

I know the question has been asked before, and apologies if I have missed the answer, but it would be useful if Troutie could post the price of some of his lights on the forum. It may make a few people buy British!

I actually heard that a lot of car crashes over here are caused from Huntsman spiders. Apparently they like to hide in narrow places like the gap between the sun visor and roof. Then the driver lowers the visor, the spider falls out, and scares the hell out of the drivers! Anyway, thongs or flip flops make excellent spider killers 😈

Well now I'm convinced that it is unsafe to drive in flip flops! 🙄

Just as well that my commute is by bike and train, all of my potential victims can sleep well tonight 😆

Well James, since I am mature enough to decide that it is safe for me to do it, unlike yourself who seems to be immature enough to criticise my decision 😛

Same as epicyclo. Drive around lots in barefeet and flip flops (thongs over here). I have never had a problem with it. Majority of people here do it. Might be a little different down in Victoria or Tassie where it's cooler.

Anyway, the British summer is never long enough or hot enough for flip flops 😆

When did they move Darlo from the South to the North of Durham? Last time I was back home it was still in it's usual place. 😆

You're not far from Hamsterley. Try the Hamsterley Trailblazers forum. They organise club rides, and you can get involved in some trail building.

Like you said mate, lots of pros and cons, just like the decision to leave good old blighty in the first place. You're right though, circumstances change, if my circumstances change here, then I may consider moving back, just not yet.

Before we moved to Australia, (almost 3 years ago), I spoke to a woman back in the UK. She had moved to Australia with her family years ago, couldn't really settle after giving it a few years here, and moved back to the UK. They actually found it quite difficult to settle in the UK after spending so much time away.

We have flown back a few times, and apart from our families, there wasn't a lot that we missed back in the UK, and just wanted to get back to Aus.

I work in the mining industry here, and work is very good, and picking up quickly again. If I was back in the UK, I would almost certainly be out of work.

I lived in central QLD for 2 years, and it was very quiet, so I can imagine what life would be like in parts of NZ. Once we moved to Brisbane, things picked up a lot for us, and the family are a lot more settled.

I noticed that Wiggle were quick with this. Trying to get us to spend our dollars while the pound is so weak.

For me, that's excellent news. I get more for my AU dollars now. I also work in mining in Australia, and things are recovering very well. What Global Financial Crisis? 😆

I find it very difficult to believe that people are arguing about this. We spend a small fortune on our bikes, and even more money on the rest of our gear. Most of us then either buy a mobile, or get one on contract, even more expense!

And yet, when it comes to spending a very small amount on ID, (or even just getting a card and writing contact details on it), people are reluctant to spending a few pounds!

It's something that I have only given a very brief thought about in the past, but I will be looking into getting something.

After working in Central Queensland, where dentists are very scarce, I bought some stuff to put on your teeth if you ever got a bad case of tooth ache. It is only a temporary measure, giving enough time to try and find a dentist and a good few hours drive to the dentists surgery. My wife used it once, and it worked.

I also know a bloke back in the UK who had a tooth ache at work, went to the workshop, got a pair of pliers, and you can imagine the rest!

Go for it, you'll regret it if you don't.

We left the UK 3 yrs ago to live in Australia. A compnay offered me a job and flew my family and myself out here, then shipped all of our stuff over from the UK. I have since left that company and now work in Brisbane.

We did it for lots of reasons. Far better job prospects, excellent money, change of lifestyle, better weather, sick of th eway the UK was/is going.

We have flown back a few times, and each time we notice that we feel less and less about the UK. It's good to catch up with friends and family, but that's the only real attraction that the UK has.

People say that you should give it at least 2yrs, as you could be homesick during that time, but less so afterwards.

Remember, Spain is a lot closer to the UK, and flights are a lot cheaper than if you were travelling from Oz!

Go fo it, life is too short!!!

no_eyed_dear, It was a genuine question that seems to have been lost with some people. If some people want to get upset with the issue and throw abuse, then I am quite happy to throw some back. Does that make me a pommie troll? 😆

I knew that it would open up a can of worms, everybody has an opinion on here, and don't they know how to voice it!

Interesting to hear some of the opinions/excuses to ride SS though.

It does quieten down in the UK right now, then the forum starts to pick up late this arvo.

I understand that different riders prefer different bikes, all I wanted to know is why do some riders prefer SS? Simple question I thought 🙄

    Count Zero, calm down, 😛

When your IQ is as high as mine, then you might read my previous reply and not that I am an English Troll, not an Aussie Troll, 😆

But then again, you do ride SS more!

See, I ask a simple question and get all of this back, 😆

For the record I ride a full sus bike, lots and lots of gears, and every other bit of new technology that is in the modern world, (apart from grizzly bears zip tied to the handle bars). Although I do have a beard, shaved short to match my ever balding head!

Before moving Down Under I used to ride my bike around Hamsterley, in all weathers, and never had trouble with my gears. The bike got very muddy, took it home, cleaned it ready for next time, easy.

Now I live in a world of almost continuous sunshine, and still no trouble with my gears, and no desire for SS either.

I also don't see the point of road riding, or bmx's!

Oh, I get it now, they're for technically challenged people that don't understand gears!

I'm living in Brisbane now after leaving the UK a few years ago. There is a lot of good riding around here. Daisy Hill between Brisbane and the Gold Coast is very good, my local ride.

Chains of Olympus is a good start. The new PSP is out later this year, so there should be a lot of new titles.
