This morning in the local woods, just above 0 degrees C. I forgot how fun but hard riding on snow is!

Spectral would be my choice if you don’t want a 29er.

Looking at the spec you selected they are almost identical so it comes down to the ‘frame for the terrain!’

I guess it depends if you need an Enduro bike with all the suspension travel or a fast trail bike.

The site looks better on a Computer, the mobile version looked worse.

Good luck to them I say, its a bold move in the current climate. I just hope they build bikes us mere mortals can afford and not just focus on high end.

I got one of the new Go Outdoors Calibre branded jackets https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk//zucci-peak-softshell-p433844

Only had a first ride out in it last weekend, but all good thus far.

I am actually bored of reading about the new classifieds.

If you don’t like it don’t use it, if you do and can live with its ongoing development then great…

There really are more important things to worry about in life.

Im near Penn and everything is currently soaked through. Aston Hill is my usual and that’s a mud fest at this time of year.

Yup I just had the same battle with a Wirebead Comp Trail Boss on a WTB i29 rim. It was almost like the bugger was glued on!

Much swearing and sweating involved. Once the bead does give the rest of the tyre came off slowly.

The tyres in the bin now and a new Magic Mary has replaced it, and now tubeless.

Well going against the grain here, I think its an improvement over the old system!

Sure its not perfect (and they have said it is WIP) but I had success quickly selling my Cotic via the new Singletrack system, whereas eBay was rife with tyrekickers and silly offers…

    Great post chakaping.

I read that with I interest as its something I too have struggled with. Once a week on the bike does indeed help suppress some anxiety and negativity.

Im not a Facebooker but will follow via Twitter :)

Read that at lunchtime. Superb stuff and a good read. Good to see the positive effects 2 wheels is having on the local community.

Make a new a4 size image in photoshop with a white background, then cut and paste the label into the new PSD document.

I would put each label on its own layer, move them and scale them until happy then flatten the image and print away from Photoshop

That’s a shocking new lineup! To my mind Chris Harris will be the only one who actually knows anything about cars from the new line up

The last series was just about Ok with Reid, LeBlanc and Harris and they had some on screen chemistry developing

    Personally I find Flintoff annoying.

Ah cheers, will look into those. :)

Anxiety really shut me down a few years back. So much so that I struggled to walk to the shops let alone a longer distance.

Glad you got some help via CBT.

I still have the odd Anxiety flare up and panic attack, but they are generally (and likely happen)  when tired.

As already mentioned just get out and ride, don’t fret over the distance, time etc, just ride.

I did exactly this last night and it really does help clear the mind. The biggest battle I have is convincing myself to go out and ride or go for a run in the first place, but 99 percent of the time its totally worth it.

Just ordered the Chunky Monkey and Smorgo combo. Will report back when fitted but for the money I think they will be fine. Made by Maxxis apparently..

Cheers folks – I feel an On-One order will be occurring soon. Can’t really go wrong at £15 a tyre can you!

    Good point Si77

the bike has the WTB comp versions on. Woburn, Aston Hill and Swinley are my normal bike park visits, as well as the local woods.

Seems to be that time of year – ours stopped working last week as the Gas supply valve packed up. :(

As already mentioned, test them now before it gets properly cold!

I have the Triple B and love it. It really is excellent value for money and I nearly bought the Bossnut Evo myself.

Nothings fallen off or destroyed itself yet, and it was a blast at Aston Hill on Sunday.

I would check the bike over once its bought though as Im not to sure how thorough the PDI process is.

In fairness to GO Outdoors, they did a good job on mine. Im just OCD with bike prep and check everything :)

I’m 5ft 10″ and ride a medium BFE (gen5) and find its spot on for reach etc..

I have 2.4” High Rollers (3c) on my Cotic. The front doesn’t really offer much grip or feel over 27 psi in my experience.

I find they do grip well, but I’m looking for a faster rolling Maxxis trail tyre. Would a Minion Dhr on the back help?

    cheers

Aston Hill was a dustbowl and Swinley the same last week. Heading out on a local ride later (Penn Woods) and expecting the same.

It looked like it could rain with big black clouds last night, but nothing!

So i popped into Go Outdoors earlier and tried out a Medium Bossnut Evo for size. At 5ft 9 the medium was spot on for me and the bike had plenty of standover top tube clearance.

The salesperson in the Reading store had good knowledge of the MTB scene too seemingly as he was aware of the other options I was looking into.

I have to say its a strong contender, as already mentioned elsewhere its cracking value.

Interesting thread, I’m going to have a look at a Bossnut tomorrow myself. The standover does look high.

Having said that, there are also plenty of 2018 bargains starting to appear as the ’19 models arrive.

The Whyte T130SR is that other bike on my radar, but I need to save some more pennies… :)

Sorry i meant this one – it should be perfect at £79. Just go with knee and elbow pads and a helmet and you’ll be good.

Have a look at Z Flex’s cruisers. They are pretty good and we used to sell loads when I worked in a Skateshop :)

Get on it i’d say. At 43 i still go for the odd skatepark roll around, I even attended Southsea Skateparks 40th bash last month.

I don’t try anything tech these days, but just carving and a few grinds and kick turns are still big fun.

Peoples attitudes towards older skaters have improved and i would say its not just for the kids anymore.

The facilities the Yoof have these days are impressive, we had to make do with a small 4 ft mini ramp and the tesco supermarket curb for street sessions back in the day :)

A 15 plate Fiat Doblo or its bigger brother the Ducato is what we run at work. Both no harder to drive than a car and comfortable pretty much all day with Aircon, DAB radio etc….

I don’t think it should matter if your gear is 5 minutes old or 5 years, just get out and enjoy it!

I’m not the fittest or the fastest, but enjoy both group rides or solo. Getting to a trail centre may help as theres always people to chat to / ride with?

Cheers V, great info in that reply. It’s pretty much confirmed what I thought.
