I too have be looking at the same Marzocchi option Ze, with a PUSH tune. It seems like a good way of getting a coil to try out without it costing too much.

I’ve found them to be fine. Pre lockdown I looked at a Trek and a Spesh hardtail for the Mrs in the local store and they had stock and helpful advice.

i guess it’s the same with any retailer, you will get some stores that are better than others in terms of service.

That’s not normal, I’d say the air spring needs to come out and be checked over.

Love my 145. I’m 5ft 8 and on a Medium Long. 32mm Raceface stem ( I seem to have short arms!) and the reach is spot on.

it’s such a capable bike and I have go nowhere near it’s limits yet. A proper bargain at the current price.

We have a 4×4 as our main car. It’s a 2013 twin air. It’s a great little car and can handle all conditions well from snow to sand. I have driven the diesel also (we have one at work) and there isn’t much in it drive wise. The diesel may be more frugal but the twin air is actually quite quick considering it only has 2 cylinders!

The way I understand it is that now both chambers are equalised, so no real loss in the neg side.

There is a good article on Enduro MTB about the changes that happen in the fork.

RockShox DebonAir upgrade: an affordable performance boost for your fork

Not at all. Another bonus is that you are now getting all the travel you paid for. The thing I found with my Lyrik’s is that a few PSI either way can make a difference. For my weight 80psi was recommended (fork felt good) with the app and dropping to 77 felt very good, plush and supportive.

The negative volume reduction isn’t really an issue as the red seal head is recessed to add back the volume taken away by the assembly being higher up on the shaft.

I’m actually pleased with this upgrade. The fork is now more supportive and the sag at rest is eliminated. I have been running slightly less PSI than with the old Debonair spring and it has given me more confidence to push knowing the shock support and feel is improved.

Been a subscriber for a little while now and I’m not going anywhere if you lot at Singletrack towers aren’t!

Keep up the good work, I always call by the forum on a daily basis and things would be worse without it and the mag :)

Love my Aeris 145. Such a capable bike.

Thats a steal at that price!

That raw finish is mighty fine!

I had a 2018 Bfe and the new model tweaks the geometry slightly with a steeper seat angle. It’s a massively capable bike. If I was after another hardtail it would be top of the list.

Just found this thread. I hoping to head to the Fort William WC next year. I see tickets are on early bird discount until the end of today.

Can anyone recommend a hotel up to an hour away? Also are both Saturday and Sunday worth attending or just one day?

    Cheers

5-10 Freeriders or the Specialized 2FO are both good options.

I have the Freerider elements for winter and the 2FO for summer, both really grippy on good flat pedals.

Indeed I’m hoping they are looking out for me before I return, as I have mentioned they are writing to me so we will see what the letter contains….

Watch this space and thanks for all the replies folks. This really is a great forum with some top folk :)

Exactly, I don’t think they believe me, as I have kept and managed my mental health issues to myself over the several years I’ve had them. This is the first they know of it. This time things got too much and my brain is like scrambled egg, making me irritable and bad tempered. (not excuses..)

We don’t have a HR department.

Hopefully the Boss has called it incorrectly not ‘records’ but should be ‘report for current absence’

I’ve nothing to hide, they can have a report for the current absence only, once I’ve reviewed it with the GP.

    Thanks northshoreniall

No occupational health department at work, I am aiming to speak with my GP once I receive the information request.

Thanks all a great help. I will know more when they send me the paper work asking to write to my GP for information.

As mentioned, all this isn’t helping my state of mind.. :(

They know about it because someone I used to trust told someone else….

The doctors note does indeed expire when I’m deemed OK for work.

Horrid news so close to Christmas. I’d get that list up online so people can share. Hope the bike shop recovers from this setback.

+1 for when my mental health is s**t and consequently I’ve not slept enough.

Some days I have no energy but thankfully I can recognise and ride accordingly (slower!) now, although this wasn’t always the case..

I want for the Nukeproof Sintered pads in my RE/code callipers and they have been spot on. Not too much noise and plenty of bite.

Also have some Uber bike components Race Matrix pads I’m waiting to try out.

I am pretty sure an Updated Bossnut is due soon. I have a Triple B and love it – superb value for money.

I got a Magic Mary on the front and a Hans on the rear. The Mary is Addix soft compound.

Having ridden a few tyres at Aston Hill, I’d say the chalk is the issue. It offers no grip regardless of the rubber!

Normally its new BB time. Once the bearings get rough they are normally done. I’m guessing regreasing will just delay the inevitable replacement.

I too am struggling with this. I’m restricting my News intake as it all seems to be negative. Work is pretty grim at the moment and constant exposure to poor planning / deadlines / idiots isn’t helping the mood.

How do people cope in the workplace with the negativity avoidance?
