I dump Mr. Toab about 3 times a year. He just goes on like nothing’s happened, text, emails, invitations to see his parents, the lot. It’s impossible.

I think the best one ever went:
Me: You realise I’ve never wanted to be in this relationship? I just can’t face the fuss you’ll make if I try and get out of it.
Him: That’s alright, you don’t feel like that now
Me: You have no idea how much I feel like that now
Him: (suddenly crying loudly to get the notice of everyone in the room)
*sniff* I know you don’t mean that, you’re just saying it to upset me, why do you have to do this
Me: But I do mean it.
Him: That’s alright edar, I know you don’t. You’re forgiven. Another cup of tea?

    Fun huh?

not exactly a trail centre but Swinley’s only 15 minutes from Bracknell or Martins Heron stations

Don’t know if they still do it but a few years ago the busses between Machynlleth and Coed Yr Brenin had special racks on the back to take a bike. I think the busses for Nant Yr Arian had the same

woop woop – hopefully buying a new bass from someone in a few hours (just have to go see that what’s on gumtree matches the real thing).

    Never had an Ibinez before…

Am I the only person who finds the new Spokeshirts website doesn’t actually work at all? You click on something, there’s a ‘loading’ type line and then…. nothing happens at all…?

    Just me?

I’ve never tried it before, but I’m planning to strap a tent to my bike and head for Devon, some time this year.

Going to start around Sidmouth and work toward Plymouth, sticking to coast / off-road as much as possible.

    Any suggestions?

Rather plain Lorus Kinetic (as in when you could get a seiko kinetic movemnt in a lorus for a micron of the price). Cost £50 about 6 years ago and has gone non-stop without a service, battery, anything.

One the best things I ever bought

I think I had a pretty good time at Stone Roses bar, but it turned out someone had spiked my drink and my memories of the rest of the evening are pretty hazy.

I can tell you all about repeatedly throwing up in the York Hilton though!

Yeah, I’ve found the same thing, they all go thump or twang and then stop. But I thought there might be something out there somewhere.

    Alternatively double bass trailer?

I think “affected” is right, but there’s an element of the tribe / culture thing. I tend to go camp when I’ve had a few, particulalry if I’m grumbling about Mr. Toab.

Sometimes at the pub or something I’ll play up to it, but that’s really just for comic effect.

(Although TBH it’s pretty fabulous being gay, Dahlings!

I know I talk too much but people seem to like me enough when they get a word in edgeways.

My name is toby. Most of my mates are too lazy for two whole sylables, so everyone ends up calling me Toab.

Could just as easily be Tobe I suppose…

OH, see what you mean, yes I suppose so – I was just suprised the topic got such a response. Hadn’t realised people were Shib baiting all along.

Someone asked if they could be offended but I only agreed to get the biscuits

More than happy for people to be offended on my behalf, particularly if they have biscuits (malted milk for preference).

Me and Mr. Toab were once asked not to come back to a pub in the depths of Welsh Wales, but mainly cos Mr. Toab wouldn’t keep his hands to himself and it was upsetting the regulars, who were keeping the business going. The managment were really very polite about it and I didn’t really feel I could blame them.

I’m glad this arguement seems to be fizzling out – I’m gay and I’m not half as offended as you lot seem to be

Another thing that can help fix a pattern is to set a time for going to bed and a time for getting up and absolutely stick to them. Don’t lie in bed reading before going to sleep and don’t lie in in the mornings. The idea is that eventually your brain gets the message that this is when you go to sleep, and this is when you get up, but you have to stick to it rigidly, no matter how sleepy you feel.

It’s a little thing that plugs directly into your computer. It has a built in arial and connects you to the internet via a mobile phone network (so it works anywhere you have mobile signal).

Like a mobile you either have a contract for it or you can get pand go ones.

They’re not usually as quick as using a router, but they’re better than nothing.

I’ve never known any YHA require you to bing a sleeping bag – they either lend you proper duvet cover etc. or they have kind of cotton bag with a pocket for a pillow at the top, and then a duvet to go over the top.

woody – I’ve realsied that now; Mr. Toab has severe hearing loss and tinnitus after a bout of meningitis and it makes things a total PITA.

I’m much more careful with my ears now.

I’ve got an Irish mate who doesn’t have much luck with the ladies, so he got an inflatable one. I asked him how he was getting on with her and he said “it was all right, but I gave a love bite and she farted and flew out of the window”

    (boom, tish, coat)

organic – If it’s the normal “post-really loud gig” tinnitus rather than the proper permanent stuff it usually goes in a day or two.

mr. Toab works for bmw in the corporate leasing bit and is fielding a lot of calls from people struggling- he’s getting very bored of telling people to turn off the traction control, put in second and go easy on clutch (or just overide into second if auto) which is what head office in munich told them.
1 series seems particularly bad, we can across one of his colleagues who needed pushing up a fairly small ramp yesterday.
There are rumours of a front wheel drive one next year though

I house share and it’s lovely. We have meals together fairly often, we all know each others friends / regular visitors. No one minds if you have to borrow a bit of milk and because we all like each other we all seem to be fairly considerate about noise and such

    is nice

C_G, yeah £4 to wash and swin but noi tumble drying.

My Laundrette did tumble drying in 20p installments so usually I just sorted out the things I really needed straight away and did those.

I think running a machine would be cheaper
