Nope, never had to put it back ‘in gear’.

We always drive in B mode, sport setting.

A question for the ID3 drivers if I may. My wife has an ID3 registered in July 21 (I think..) and the **** thing keeps yanking on the handbrake and kicking me out of drive/reverse during low speed manoeuvres and it’s pissing me off (mainly from a safety perspective as we live on a main road and it has a habit of doing it, sometimes more than once!, as I’m reversing onto the drive).

    @nickewen
    – simple answer, no, our iD3 has never done that, and we reverse on and off our drive regularly. It does sometimes put the normal brake on at very low manoeuvring speeds, I assume it’s detected something it doesn’t like. But never the parking brake.

    I love a Q car fast estate.

Had an Impreza Turbo wagon back in the day, and a 300bhp awd Volvo V70R, which was rapid with a huge boot.

I’m currently trying to justify the maths for swapping my 3L diesel A6 for an S6. A lot less showy than an RS6, but with 440hp it’s still not exactly the sensible option.

Freemotion is the big bike hire place over there, there will probably be one close enough to wherever you are.

I can’t help with mtb, but you really don’t need a guide for road riding, there are not too many road choices. Freemotion will be able to help, or I am happy to give you a few possible options.

I like to play spot-the-impending-car-wreck-later-in-the-show, when watching BBC dramas. Barrister character driving an 18 year old Mondeo? That’ll be rolled in a bit. Baddie in a new S-Class, he’ll be fine.

British TV dramas are particularly bad for that. You know that only £500 scrappers are going to get crashed.

Something else to look out for is the pipe gun that is often used to flip cars over (that fires down out of the engine bay. I first saw it on an Indiana Jones way back, and it doesn’t seem to have changed much. Clearly visible at 19s in this clip:

Not stupid per se – but why not at least try and hide it?

Yeah, Millbrook pops up a lot.

Bond rolls his Aston there for instance in Casino Royale, despite just having left Monaco.

Always getting USB sticks in the correct orientation at first attempt.

Finding and downloading the necessary files on an unknown computer faster than I can even turn my computer on.

Totally mismatched cars having an exciting chase.

Always oversteer, never understeer, and the untrained driver being able to drift round every corner better than Ken Block.

Mirrorless has pretty much caught up with DSLR now, but only recently. So the worthwhile mirrorless cameras are very expensive (Canon R5, R6 etc). Whereas the older DSLRs like the 1D4, 1Dx etc are relatively cheap and have better image quality (and ease of use for birds and planes) than older mirrorless.

It’s only with the most recent mirrorless options that wildlife / bird photographers have started switching over.

Edit: Also, up until recently, the mirrorless options weren’t designed for sport or wildlife, so even if the IQ was great, the handling, frame rate, AI focus etc would not have been suitable.

If Masi loses his job, how on earth can the FIA allow the results of the last race to stand – sacking him is a total admission that what he did wasn’t right.

Just for context, I’d have liked to see him attempt some of that stuff on his normal bike too, to demonstrate the difference the ebike made.

As a glaasses-wearing dslr photographer, it is pretty difficult, especially in this colder weather. Both my glasses and viewfinder steam up instantly and I do find myself trying to hold my breath.

But, one suggestion is to put something like micropore tape across the top of the mask, along your nose and cheeks. This blocks the warm breath and forces it out the sides instead. I noticed that my optician had done this to prevent his instruments and glasses steaming up with his mask on.

I have no issue with team orders within the same team, it makes total sense, but it really annoyed me when Coulthard was suggesting that Alpha should/would also act as part of the Red Bull team.

Yep, Photobox here too. Done loads over years, simple process, decent results and pretty much no quibbling if there are any issues, they just send another book.

And yes, just wait for the discount codes.

Very impressive – I know it will have been prepared and practised, but a lot of that was done blind on the day with no multiple sets of tracks or landing marks in the fresh snow.

As if proof were needed, Harris’ time against Norris shows how good a driver he still is. Shame they didn’t give us the other times.

Takes me about a month to get the hang of most games!

As a new PS5 owner, is the Playstation Plus monthly subscription worth it / necessary? Coming from a PS3 I hadn’t heard of this, but it seems that GTA V online requires it, and it seems that other games push you that way too. Is that also true now of all online games on the PS5?

I know it’s not a lot of money, but I bloody hate being forced to subscribe to stuff monthly rather than just buying something.

Just wanted to say that finally, after 12 months of vaguely trying to buy one, my PS5 has arrived.

Seeing as I am coming from a PS3, I am looking forward to a big jump in technology. And as for about the last 3 years all I’ve played really has been MW3 online, I am also looking forward to some new games (hopefully ones not populated by hackers and cheats).

Thinking of Dirt or WRC, latest Modern Warfare and then maybe try some of the above suggestions. Really loved GTA5, but has it moved on much for the PS5?

    Guttingly, I am busy tonight!

I think I’ve just been successful at Very.com for a PS5 if anyone is still wanting one (they have accepted my order anyway). Bit of a queue to get on the website, but only 15 minutes maybe.

At what price, the original rrp or the £700ish price?

I am tempted by this for using Lightroom when travelling – but I know bog all about computers really.

512 SSD Hard drive would be fine, 16gb is ok I think, but 32 would be better. Screen res sounds good. Small and light is nice. Sounds like peripherals might be limited, but again, probably manageable just for travel.

Is there anything better for that kind of price? Especially given potential supply issues and price rises.

One relatively easy measure would be if proof of ownership was needed before being able to buy replacement electric bike or Di2 chargers.

Obviously doesn’t work in all cases, but so many high end bikes need power of some sort and most have proprietary connectors and cables.

Jöro and Rafters sprang immediately to my mind. Fischers in Baslow is good, but Okd Vicarage is a bit stilted if there are more Bly two of you, and I think it lost its star recently.

Slightly lower key, Oi Soi is great fun, as is Juke and Loe, and so is Brocco on the Park. Brocco has bedrooms too, so could be a full night away (but maybe not in budget).

Max basically wants it both ways – being able to run people wide and force them off the track when it suits, but also him being left space when he’s trying to make the move.

This is it in a nutshell – he (and Horner) just seems totally blind to his hypocrisy.

Serendipitous thread, I’ve just been looking at swapping from Bulb to Octopus, as Bulb don’t yet have an electric car type tariff. But the car doesn’t do that many miles, only about 7000pa, so I haven’t worked out yet if it’s worth switching.

About 50% town, 50% 60mph dual carriageway. Basically my wife’s 15 mile commute. It’s not been on a motorway yet, so that probably helps.

Our iD3 has steering wheel reach adjustment.

Otherwise, after 1500 miles all is good so far. Comfy, super easy to drive, modern safety tech seems useful.

Interior is fine but not luxurious. Very roomy for the exterior size. Nippy enough.

    And 3.9 mi/kWh so far.
