Storage and sharing with family/friends, I use OneDrive with a 365 account. 1TB store and they don’t mess with the photos.

Has album creation and all that.

Hotlinking is more of a problem, but I either use free Flickr or Imgur for that.

Social media sharing, Instagram. Despite the resolution downgrade. Everyone just uses their phone anyway.

Also I backup to my NAS which itself backs up to a 1TB USB drive.

My few thoughts on the subject (I am not a dentist / hygienist).

+1 cheapest Oral-B. Don’t need any of the bells and whistles.

The main point is they just make you clean more thoroughly than a manual brush. They don’t clean everything though.

You still need to floss. Yes, you won’t floss. Hence hygienist 😏

Hygienist / dentists do have promotional interest in Oral-B products. Whether they get something in return I don’t know. Still worth getting a basic one though.

The term electric bugs me. They’re rechargeable battery with a charging dock, but when they ask if I use electric and I say battery the dentist lectures me to get electric 😄. I don’t call my phone electric though.

Also, Oral-B want you to chuck them when battery finally dies. It’s just a Ni-MH rechargeable in there. Waste.

And their adverts are some of the most irritating ever made.

Amps delivered per socket may be key and more so whether it can do that with all sockets in use drawing full power.

Depending what you want to charge.

A lot deliver a bit low for fast charging or only do on one socket. Some are 2A when some devices need slightly more.

Then a few cheapies don’t short out the data line so phones think they’re connected to a PC and default to 500mA which will be slow charge. You can get fast charge dongles if that’s the case (just an adapter that shorts or the data line).

Then you’ve got some devices like high spec tablets and laptops that have a USB cable but with their own charger can switch to a different voltage and current than in standard 5V USB and thus deliver more watts and fast charge.

In this season of ruining classics, it’s a charming version.

Only negatives, not enough Aunt Sally and no tea and a slice of cake 😄

“Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun. Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-two million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea”

    Get her a fridge.

Watch her little face light up when she opens it.

Social rides with dad for a while which may help the anxiety, perhaps group rides with any of his friends or people his age and maybe he’ll be encouraged, and maybe seeing them play about on jumps but stressing he doesn’t need to do them. Can understand not wanting to replicate the incident though but seeing riding about and even jumps is normal may help. Though we crash at times, it’s not usually the norm.

    wrong tyre choice

It’s Swinley. Tyre choice is the reason for everything 😄

I was undecided but then the Health Secretary fabricated a punch-up and the PM hid in a fridge.

And Tory/Russian bots spread fake news claiming kid on hospital floor was fake news. Which some journos believed (or may have been involved in).

Problem is despite being exposed as fake fake news, it spreads around and certain people believe it.

Looks promising. A bit Ghostbusters Teen perhaps. Though the charm of the original was the comedy and it looks like this isn’t one.

Another legend gone and did so much more beyond Trek (and was also Colonel West in Star Trek VI though only in the extended cut as his scenes were cut on release, which was a shame). Probably the best character on DS9.

And down that rabbit hole I also find Aron Eisenberg, the actor who played the Ferengi kid Nog, checked out back in September aged 50 due to heart failure. Ugh.

Yeah, that was a shock as he’s been very activity on social media, events, conventions and all that. Though he’s always had health issues born with one kidney, being the cause of his small height, and several transplants.

Also tragic is Marina Sirtis (played Troi) lost her husband yesterday too.

Same as prepay travel cards, the restriction is anything that reserves an amount on the card, so deposit on hiring a car, hotel deposit, also pay at pump fuel (reserves £99 typically in UK, similar other countries, then adjusts to how much you actually bought).

Not all places will actually block it for these uses but you should avoid using them for these anyway and sometimes those reserves are held against your balance for days or longer until they’re cleared and that means less money you can use.

Found some places in US just won’t accept them even for normal payments. Also some supermarkets I found see them as debit cards and ask for a ZIP code.

I was a happy kid, but not confident- I think people thought I was quiet but really I wasn’t, I just was a bit afraid of drawing attention I think

Similar, or just happy in my own world and avoiding fuss. Cheerful, seemingly quiet, sometimes mischievous.

Never been “the world is against me” depressive, but anxiety hits big at times. Sometimes for no logical reason, others over trivial things. Big dramas don’t worry me so much.

The happy in my own world is maybe my way of dealing with it, and that ties in with riding as I’m happy just bogging off on my own riding into the wild. Very relaxing. The social side makes a difference though. It’s the most social interaction I can engage with comfortably and enjoy the riding at the same time without being someone I’m not.

Are there any pros/cons to going over centre lock rotors?

For the consumer, in my opinion, no benefits either with centerlock rotor or centelock hubs.

I’ve only got a centerlock hub on one set of wheels because I needed a quick cheap set and being DT factory wheels of the shelf they’re centerlock only (shops can get oem versions that are 6 bolt). Got perfectly good one piece 6 bolt rotors so I use an adapter. Cheaper than centerlock rotors.

The DT adapter is a bit rubbish though. It keeps loosening and it’s difficult to tighten down enough to grip the disc without play. It won’t come off and fine under braking but it’s weird when rocking bike back and forth with brake on. Can’t tighten on the trail unless I carry a bulky tool with me.

I’m thinking of swapping to Shimano adapter as they appear to bolt the disc onto the adapter, then you screw the adapter onto the hub.

All my other wheels are DT350 hubs that I specced with 6 bolt to avoid this nonsense.

Streaming involves a fair bit of compression even with 4k and not sure you get HDR colour.

Though there’s more to it than resolution and colour range. They should be fresh 4k scans from old prints and likely a new master with improved quality. Though sometimes they mess up though and make it worse.

With streamed 4k they might be a better master so can be worth it even on a 2k telly.

Annoyingly the HDR colour they’re mastered for can result in a poor downscale to a 2k version as often that’s done on the cheap. The Shining Extended Cut is an example. I don’t have a 4k telly and have no desire or need for one, but the new master extended cut in UK is only on the 4k Blu Ray release, but comes with a DVD from same master. The DVD is showing a distinct green tint from comparison shots available on the Web.

As for TOS Trek, it was remastered on Blu Ray release (HD DVD even originally!) with optional updated effects. Both new effects and original they’re very good and a lot of work went into it. The series was shot on film and scans in HD fine but the effects work better re-rendered in HD. Same goes with TNG. Film shot but effects edited on video so they redid those and really quite subtle. DS9 and Voyager are more complex and studio doesn’t want to pay up as the others didn’t sell massively.

There’s work in AI interpolation of SD video though that’s looking quite impressive. People have done clips from SD DS9 video converted to HD this way.

Anyway,TV shows like that even shot on film won’t gain much in 4k from the film stock quality typically used. Even less so anything shot 16mm.

Maybe borrow something for the month if you know someone who’s not using theirs?

I’d offer but don’t have something that would work with those lights.

Trailforks is more of an off road oriented segment database akin to Strava’s but has moderation facilities to allow more sensitive and controversial things to be kept private. Like the way you can report state of trails. Not really a route planning tool though.

Komoot is pretty good. Been impressed with the route planning so far, but don’t expect it to plan a singletrack adventure. It’ll pick official bridleways etc. That’s fine as I don’t need a planner for singletrack, just a plan of how to get from A to B off-road in interesting ways.

Not perfect though. I’ve found it dumping me on footpaths when it’s supposed to be picking stuff okay for bikes. Not that I object to footpaths as I’ll ride them regardless of the rights of way, but one I did couple months back I found many of the footpaths were just unrideable as they involved stiles, across fields and through areas tricky to even walk let alone ride. The bridelway stuff though was spot on.

Also comes up with other routes people have posted in the area and they’ve generally been interesting MTB stuff.

The shorter version was down to Yanks objecting to the more uncomfortable scenes, which is no surprise.

Brilliant Besson stuff. Oldman is at his best his, Jean Reno is Jean Reno. Kicked off Portman’s career.

Well, it’s not a rumour that he had a 15 year old GF when he was 32, he’d known her since she was 12. She had her first child to Besson when she was 16 years and 5 months old.

Maïwenn Besco. Age of consent in France is 15, so no law broken and she’s been pretty open about it all. Stated the film is partly based on their relationship.

Then there are the other accusations, and that’s all they are at present.

Don’t know really. Can you separate art from the behaviours of the artist? Obviously you can come up with the Hitler and his paintings argument, though his paintings weren’t that great anyway.

I still like many Polanski films despite his run from the law (and his is a more serious crime which he pleaded guilty to).

It’s still a bloody good film.

Anyway, in same boat and also awesome – Nikita. Original French with subs if needed.
