always offer, once at cwncarn a guy stopped me at the bottom of the big climb, had punctured and had no tubes, i tend to carry two anyway so handed one over. he insisted on taking my name and address and sending me one in return. In the end he sent me a massive box of 10 as a thankyou. quality guy – always help out 🙂

Capitalism works because one persons self interest benifits others.

you buy from a shop, shopkeeper feeds his family, etc etc

problem is most transactions come with external costs (costs to society not taken into the consumers buying decision) e.g. toxic waste in china from building your telly

Until external costs are FULLY taken into account in consumers buying decisions (eg polution taxes/ waste taxes etc) then we will just keep buying and keep stripping our planet.

eventually resource scarcity will force prices up enough that we will have to innovate around our propblems but its 50/50 wether our planet will be inhabitable by that point if you ask me.

    Live fast Die young 🙂

2nd westcott/ dorking (you 'might' be able to buy there) worth considering Reigate as its a nicer town IMO but has a serious price premium. Still great riding from there too. Lovely part of the country to live
(reigate will put you closer to Redhill train station for a good london commute line)

Reigate is a great base for riding the north downs ridge, some really nice stuff, just join up the bridleways as they go up and down 🙂

yup hub bearings, if it shimano is cone spanner time or if its someone else, lookup how to adjust. or just take it to someone who knows what their doing….

One thing i never get is the idea of clipping out to get through a technical section, this really decreases your chances of getting through it successfully. Stay confident, head up and stay clipped in, you will get through difficult sections with much greater control of the bike and less chance of comming of the pedal/ dabing/sitting on the crossbar/ raming your crotch into the stem/ etc

Cookaa i take your point about looking after the bike if you expect to avoid these but i really do. I had just had the bike on the workstand and got the gears super sweet a couple of days before. I knew that they were worn but i thought they would be fine and appeared fine in the workstand- just the real world showing up that workstand tuning is not the same as riding
If you see a guy at mayhem with a grey/blue mojo and a messed up arm come say hi!!!

I thought I might find a less than sympathetic response!!
I can see that both the crashes i mentioned 'might' have been avoided. I am trying to eak the last bits of life out of the drivechain that slipped, but it was correctly adjusted.
Snakebites are a fact of riding but yes maybe more tyre pressure would have helped, always a balancing act against grip though.
I actually agree with big john that having ridden SS i am fearfull to put that much pressure through my geared drivechain – the BMX style chain on the SS is built like a brick ****house 🙂

    (fellow mojo SL owner)
i would go against a dhx air, for two reasons,
firstly the fact that the mojo is designed around the rp23, i belive it is very picky about spring rates and stroke in the way its designed.
    Secondly my experiance:
I was really happy with the rear sus from the off but as i started to ride the bike harder/bigger/faster i was starting to find the rp23 couldnt keep up. It spiked on fast hits and generally got a bit choppy at speed. I thought its been about a year so went for a service and PUSH tuning from tf, told them i was getting a spike please set it up for a plush ride. It has come back and im blown away, new rear sus entirly, it really has made the back end so much more composed at speed, feels like ive got a flat tyre. Impressive service as always.
If I was you Id give TF a call and discuss with them- and they will have an informed opinion on the dhx air but id had a pushed rp23 if i were you 🙂

often found on adverts/posters where they flip the image and forget that it will put the drivechain on the wrong side

Help!! the 'very simple' 2 allen key unscrew is absolutly stuck fast, no hope of me budging it without damaging the hub
what next, bike shop? should i try and loosen the cone first?
feels like the bearings are binding and its all been done up too tight

Chris kings 🙂 serviced probly 6 months ago but not 100% the shop didnt put thick bearing grease in it. Keeping an eye on the serviceing thread below and might have a go if people recon thats the likely cause

If you call him do you mind letting me know what the result is, ive always been wary of doing it myself but i sware whenever i give it to a shop they dont know what they are doing and fill it with thick bearing grease

just had mine done a couple of weeks ago. My main issue with mine was that i was getting high speed spikes, damping oil not flowing fast enough.

Absolutly fixed the issue i had, now feels super sweet at speed, almost 'flat tyre' kind of smooth. to me it depends if you ride fast enough to notice.
I went for minimum platform when lockout off and i sort of regret it, should have got them to keep a little bit of platform. I find myself using the lockout a bit more than i used to because it feels plusher.

Im of two minds, if you dont have any idea of what effect you want it might not be worth it. If you can tell there is anything small u want changing then probly worth it. Does that make sense ?
p.s. great service as always 🙂

Another vote for a terra nova quasar here. Really impressed with quality of materials, proofing, durability and suitability for lots of different trips. Only a large 2 person though.
Put it another way if i wanted a tent id pick from the terra nova range!
