So is there no hope that Nocentini can hold on to the lead?

It was and still is all talk of Armstrong Contador, but the reality is this fella after 9 stages is leading them.

Also am I right in thinking this is Nocentini's first tour? It looks that way from his rider profile.

FWIW, I want Armstrong to win.

Mr Agreeable, yep been to a few of the local shops, gave police pictures of the bikes, was a bit miffed that one of the shops showed no interest at all, mental note to never, ever, even if I am desperate buy anything there again…

I have posted on bike magic, but not bike radar, will sort that out today, I am doing everything I can but it doesnt seem enough, am searching every site I can keeping an eye out for the bikes or bits of them.

Weird forks, a roady crankset, handbuilt wheels, it was lovely and I want it back, and am going to **** kill the theiving scumbag given the chance.

Yes seems very odd to get points… He is on Scottish radio later today, it seems to have really caught the news.

Yep, its like that all the time, we do ice cream runs out as a family, we go for bike rides, I live in a fairly prominent position other than just riding hacks we are easy anough to spot and trace…

I am really gutted, all the money in the world wont make this better, and I still have to sort out the insurance etc so no idea if I can get the right sort of value for the bikes, mine had taken me years of wheeling and dealing to get it up to the spec I had it as money isnt exactly free flowing in our household.

1 thing for sure whatever money I do get back is going on sorting out a new and very secure shed/workshop.

kingtut, I ask myself all that sort of question all the time, and its keeping me awake at night going over and over anything thats happened recently & no I dont think I did, however I am pretty sure they came for that bike and got the wifes as a bonus.

When I got burgled last year it was the same, am now wondering if I have been targetted, they got some flippin lovely stuff of mine out of the house.

They were the first 2 they could get out as it cramped in there, but they left my full sus and a mint MK1 raleigh chopper, all bikes now live indoors.

Yep given them everything I can, not like you can get a Tinbred frame like that anymore, and it had been polished by hand by the previous owner so in itself was a one off… even right down to the front wheel built up special with anodized nipples it was about as individual as a bike gets.

Even the wifes Carrera wasnt how it would come from Halfords, I had only just built it up from classifieds and CRC Wiggle etc, having all the receipts will help me on that one I guess…

Yes they came out that night to do the finger prints, and they came around on the Sunday to take a statment from me…

My house was burgled last November, so maybe they were more sympathetic, however I did have to ring them as they were an hour later than planned.

That sucks about actually going to a station and then given a number it all seems so wrong…

When I tried to ring my local station to find out if they were coming, it took explaining the whole thing to 3 different people.
The police were nice enough, and very sympathetic, I think they could sense I was absolutely livid and very much a man on the edge, not with them you nderstand, but the theiving scum bags who has the bikes.

    1) the one that doesnt vary but is the thickness of the varying ones thickest point.

    2) tricky one, the force will move down the tube.

That bent and broken kona from the other day looked a good example, extreme force will find the weakest point, it was hard to say what went wrong with that bike, did it bend first then break or break first then bend??

Very sandy and best grip, you want a mud tyre… drawback is more grip and sand means even more drag.

mmm, on reflection I didnt mean to sound quite so negative, your obviously trying to promote cycling and thats good.

But the timing does leave a little to be desired.

The real killers are sweat and as mentioned sunlight. If you use it a lot and you would like to rely on it helping you out when you need it change it every now and then.
Something stored in a shop should still be fine unless its been in the window.

I bought my xen in 05 its ferked… not its fault just used a lot, crashed in, de laminating cracked and definately fit for the bin.

Exactly shoefiti, the differnence in thickness is .4mm if a something sharp is going into the tyre, chances are it going to puncture wether its an thin tube or a normal tube.

If you have gone to the extreme and are running 350g tyres and 100g tubes then you cant be doing the low pressure bit as its going to pinch flat, but with normal tyres around the 500g mark and decent volume I still get to run reasonably low pressures for comfort and grip and still dont puncture loads.

I bought some hangars to go on the ceiling with pulleys to hoist the bike up from Lidl I think they were £6 a pack….

Also just check out storage hooks at B&Q, got a few to choose from.

If only I had enough money to build the super shed I bought them for, maybe I would still have my bike and the wifes bike.. sadly now on the missing list.

Lightweight tubes will drop 100g per wheel, and I dont find they puncture any more than a normal tube (OK DH tubes would be stronger)

There are loads of makes availiable but try to stick with the standard rubber as they patch the easiest when you do puncture.

conti supersonics or something is a fair bet… not sure how much the nutrak butyl ones on CRC weigh in at but at a fiver they are reasonable price.

If you can save 100g per tyre on your next tyre choice too you have just saved 1lb all off the wheels…

    IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE..

Yes I built the Carrera up for my wife as her first mountain bike, I had built up my Tinbred over years and constant evolution into what it was, wich may have been a bit gaudy for some, but was a bike I absolutely loved.

Cold chisels, and an iron drain cover…. you could buy cable cutters but I find this does just as well…

2nd the imperial allen keys they must be much harder than the metric ones as they always round out the bolts…

I cant get the eurosport coverage in the office (only audio), but oddly enough I got its fine through this, maybe it will work for some others.

2nd tour feed in the list.
