On road you will probably be fine, off road you need an N gear jump stop and a bash ring,,,, or MRP just bought out a specific guide for the job.

Markus, I got a suspicion that looking at slugwashes KHS is the answer to why a full suss Ti, am I right in guessing that they are recent shots of the KHS Slugwash?

You notice it still looks like new Markus?

That was my reason for buying a Ti frame, a 2nd hand Tinbred, I dont really look after kit and it always looked new with a good wash. Buy one now and it should last a long time before its completely superceeded by the latest thing… Right up until rear brake mounts go post or something and it gets hard to get calipers for, or 1.5 headsets do eventually take over from 1 1/8th, I cant see one getting out dated..

So i had a frame for life, and some fecker stole it.. 😥

Yep looks very simple, does it take the place of the spacer for the ht11 bottom bracked and use the cup to clamp it in plce?

(maybe its too simple for me to work out!!) 😳

Solo, it occurred to me on my ride last night, you must have searched me out to find a week old thread, so that in itself has rang alrm bells, I assume that you know me…

ARACER… Yes I get it, but it doesnt change the irrational fear that I have, thats why its irrational.

Jimmer dont get me started on ally/carbon frames, they are bonded, that cant be good, obviously exept in planes and the Aston Martin and Lotus Elise and VX 220 chassis… Would I have a plane or an Aston or a Lotus or a VX… yup sure would,,, would I have a carbon/ally frame nope…

    Irrational knows no bounds..

Maybe, will ask that question, I have actually had quite a positive experience with the police on this, they came out straight away to take prints, and I had another visit to take my statement, and also a follow up call to say they had leafleted the local 2nd hand shops and bike shops.

    I live in hope.

Its a nightmare subject for me, I understand carbon is ace, I ride carbon bars, used to run RC31's with a massive disc & do stoppies, jumps the lot, but am currently looking at racey hardtails and have dismissed carbon as a frame material and am looking at ultra light scandium(wasnt that Kona scandium?).. Wish I hadnt seen this thread and just blundered along without questioning myself

    😳

Homebase and B&Q has big plastic boxes like the metal ones linked for about £100, but no idea how secure you could make em…

Alpin yes I saw it, it looked like Armstrong did the equivalent of a brake check, however I don't think it was that way, Armstrong's bike was ghost shifting or slipping or something, it did it quite a few times in later part of the stage.

Some blokes used to bend one pedal arm so the pedals wasnt 180 deg/opposite in cycle speedway, rekoned it helped get the 2nd stamp onto the pedal going into the first corner…

Crap innovations/re hashed ideas gotta be girvin forks, much like a 1920s Vincent mororcycles forks.

Mind you I quite like the look of USE SUB forks and thats just another re hash on a leading link suspension design again from motorcycles of the 1950's re hashed again in the 70's for a bit and still used in sidecar MX because of the anti diving properties under braking.

They are a tenner on the bay, also check out Spank grips, they are the same grip but with the outer clamp as a full alloy end cap..

Good grips, I had em in brown and the grip itself is more plastic feeling than the more rubber feel of the Odi grips, they last well but when worn are not as grippy as the Odi's cos of the plastic feel.

You might get the deraliuer to go to 9 speed, but the shifters wont do it, see if you can get a 34t 8 speed cassette if you think a slighty lower ratio will help, V brakes work pretty well in the dry and if she isnt flying…. seen what looks like decent wheels on the bay for about £70 with Shimano hubs and wienmann rims if you did do the disc upgrade, and they come in colours so can match the bike and look more bling than their sting…

zippy has a point about maybe longer forks would slow the steering up a bit so might make it feel safer, especially at speed.

I like it, there used to be an ace shopper snap hanging about on here, like the shopper equivelant of a fakenger, but sure it was about before the fakenger thing really kicked off, lovely bike to own I rekon, & can do everything, had a pal up the road when I was kid and his parents didnt have the money for a bike for him, he road a Shopper MX as he called it, did everything on it….

Even seen a couple of blokes race Summit MTB dressed as the 118 blokes on em, NO KIDDING. (if you have done a loop there you would know how ferkin hard that is)
