I’ll never vote Conservative but I’ve also now completely lost faith in Labour. Seems every other week something like this comes out, CCTV, monitoring your internet, police and council officer anti terrorism powers, detention without charge, DNA, photographing us but not them, hasseling protesters and press, billions set-aside for new databases, the list goes on and a lot of it is pushed through so called environmental bills. At least when Miliband was in charge.

Still not sure if it’s the Ministry of Information or Police empire building or some other hidden agenda, either way the Gov has clearly got impaired judgement when it comes to measures against potential terrorist threats.

Talk of practicalities or effectiveness or data leaks are red herrings, the issue here is the Government has failed in their responsibility to protect our liberties. And lost our trust, well mine anyway.

Whaddya mean “can’t do HDR” ?? It has manual exposure so you can do HDR all you want.

If you can keep it still while scroll through the menus – no decent range auto bracketing. Unless there has been some firmware upgrade.

If the trunk is thicker than your waist fair enough but anything smaller and an axe is much more fun. Worst case scenario a big bow saw.

Unless you have money to burn or want to make fire wood or something. Tru you’ll do it in a couple of hours instead of a couple of days but sounds to me you just want something noisy!

Anyone tried Branston Pickle mini cheddars? – DON’T

They are the most addictive crisps known to man, even Ronald McDonald and Coca-a-Cola could learn a thing or two. I don’t even like Branston Pickle.

Although recent trips to the vending machine have left me wondering whether there’s a country wide drought on. Having to subsist on the methadone / barbecue sauce flavour, yuk.

I has got to be easier to put up a stud wall against the solid one, just put a couple of extra studs well raw plugged to the wall in the right place so you can screw the shower to it if your worried about load bearing.

Or sandwich some marine ply between the studs and plasterboard & tiles.

We got a 10cm memory + 10cm normal foam kingsize from http://www.mymemorymattress.co.uk or maybe
http://www.memoryfoammattressdirect.co.uk, can’t remember which. Anyway they are very different to springs but I wouldn’t go back. Had been looking to get one from http://www.ergoflex.co.uk but the’d sold out.

Back ache totally disappeared and the pillows are great for your neck too. They feel weird at first because it can take a while to sink in as you heat it up. If you sleep on your side you need the softer 10cm+ depth.

Looking forward to tomorrow night but was also a bit puzzled about him spending more time in the pub getting people to do stuff for him that actually doing it.

Didn’t think you left the city to be a crofter for the social scene.

Slaughter time for the pigs is gonna be fun given the seagull saga, and I bet they have about 500 lookalikey ‘hens’ in reserve for the Reuben accidents.

And how come hardly anyone has a Scottish accent?

Farmers may only plough up rights of way across a field if they cannot reasonably avoid doing so, and they should not disturb the surface of field edge paths. Any bridleway that is ploughed up is supposed to be restored within two weeks of ploughing so that it is fit for horses to ride and its line is clear to see. It is a criminal offence under The Rights of Way Act 1990 to plough up a bridleway illegally or to fail to restore it within 2 weeks, and the maximum penalty is £1,000. The 1990 Act has cleared up several legal uncertainties in this area and made enforcement easier – but in practice, although things have significantly improved, ploughing up is still quite frequent and restoration not always as prompt as it should be.

Save some cash and get a KHS XC-604

    Bike Radar Verdict

” Probably the best suspension bike under £1,000, this is a brilliantly designed and superbly controlled machine that feels equally at home on steady climbs, rocky descents and high speed singletrack. “

It might be KHS, but at least it’s not a Specialozed ;) Still not sure where you’d buy one from though.

Its about 3 hours from Geneva by car but last summer we spent a week in Interlaken and a few trips hiking round Grindelwald – ‘North face of the Eiger’ fame. Great place to visit including the towns.

Plenty of cable cars and saw a few bikes kicking about:

Any excuse to get the holiday pics out.

Mesh are excellent, they build the same as someone building their own would if that makes sense. Not tied to own brand motherboards etc and regularly win magazine’s recommended (pick one of those).

Vista meh, more idiot friendly and flashy but infuriating at first, at the cost of no little amount of resources. If it comes installed the PC should be up to it though.

Tinribz; a dog or few would help keep foxes away (a fox would be able to smell farmyard dogs, and vice versa, and the foxes would keep their distance) without the need for costly fencing (foxes can burrow under fences anyway), and dogs could alert the farmers to any intruders. I’m not suggesting they keep hungry Rottweilers to rip people to bits!

If you think some dog poop is going to keep your chuks safe your in for a big surprise! I’d give them about 2 nights lol. Yes fencing is not cheap but if you’ve got birds you ain’t got much choice. I’ve built a fair few pheasant pens you just make sure it extends along the ground about 3 feet so it takes longer than a night to burrow, and put a leccy fence round to stop them climbing. Standard practice. Then again chickens are in sheds at night anyway.

Though for neither of those functions do you need an aggressive dog, and as I said before, for other functions aggression is counter productive. I’ve yet to see a proper rational reason why a farmer (or indeed anybody apart from maybe the police) needs aggressive dogs.

Tell that to people living in the middle of nowhere when they find 3 pikies sniffing round their yard, or you meet them out alone in the fields carrying a bloodied deer, or lamping at 3 in the morning. They’d be long gone before the police dogs turn up 6 hours later, and back regularly to fill their boots if you can’t put up a convincing show of force.

Scan disk Ex III is still a class 6 because it is minimum speed.

Class is a recognised standard, manufacturer’s claims are another matter… Especially if they are not specific about read vs write.

Also I wonder what speed the camera bottle necks it, probably about 10mbs on a good one? And usb about 3 reading?

There will be some law somewhere about 10 years is too late I’m sure. 2 years is not that long, they could probably ask for interest if they wanted.

    * Class 2: 2 MB/s – 13x
    * Class 4: 4 MB/s – 26x
    * Class 6: 6 MB/s – 40x

I’d be looking at class 4 for a camera and class 6 if it is that important to you. MyMemory are cheap.

    Thanks,

Brute force wins the day, It is not that old and I do always oil before and after.

I’ve used a standard link pin to fix it for now.

Will have to drop in to the LBS for a proper one then else it sounds like I’ll probably get the same problem again.

I pretty happy with my Kenda Small Block Eight:

Description:The Kenda Small Block Eight UST Kevlar Tire is an excellent hard pack XC race tire that features 8 Nevegal shaped but smaller knobs across the tire for better bite, and Dual Tread Compound (DTC) offers cornering grip with faster center line acceleration. The Kenda Small Block Eight UST Kevlar Tire is one of the fastest rolling tires in the Kenda Premium line.

To ward off foxes, and to protect the farm. Do you know how much some farm equipment costs? There’s a thriving black market in stolen farm stuff, and even livestock and horses.

Foxes, lol that’s what fences are for. As for guard dogs you don’t use your sheep dog for that you use a pair of Alsations that you lock up during the day and let out in to a fenced compound during the night. The collies will be getting their zzzs.

Farm dogs are wilder and collies especially because of the herding instinct, territorial goes with that. If there’s a bridleway they ought to be chained end of.

Before putting the world to rights though I’d be more concerned about getting some injections quick, dogs mouth’s are not nice places.

Here’s a way to make a drop down list I like to use that makes maintenance easier.

    1. in a new tab create write a list of values e.g. in cells a1, a2, a4, a5.

    2. select / highlight the list

    3. Inset > Name > Define – enter a name e.g. mylist > OK.

    4. Go to your data tab / cell – Data > Validation

    5. Select List from 1st drop down

    6. in Source enter =mylist > OK

Done. This way you can alter the drop downs easily on the lists tab.

Window cleaning, that’s where the money is. £5 – £10 a hoose, takes about 5 minutes with the right tools and a bit of skill. And most important it’s repeat business. Then there is the perks :)

Get enough clients, you can take on staff and just sit back!

    Don’t forget the vineger.
