I’d click from Google on to a site that was selling something a £ cheaper. Go through with the sale for honest P&P, but carry on searching if it was inflated.

Memory map here, can trace routes on to OS25 maps, zoom out then transfer visible portion to mobile device. Shows position path travelled and direction you are heading.

Although I had to use an anologue version today because I dropped and smashed my phone on a ride last Sunday :x

Looking at some XDA Orbits on the bay at the moment.

Take drive along Moor Lane north of Marske on the map only about 10 minutes by car north east of Richmond. You are up on the moors, just park up anywhere and there are loads of bridle ways.

    Or head for Reeth.

    Not 1and1.

I would think it will be your domain still with justhost, I would guess the T&C are more likly to say you have to re-register through them after 2 years for which they charge you 10 times the going rate.

To make life easiest you want to be registering with the same place you have your webspace. So pick a good host and take it from there.

I recommend Fuzioned.com, cheap reliable and you can actually deal with he same person each time you contact them.

I’ve some PD-M424s and I wouldn’t ride them without spd shoes either. And I don’t really notice any additional support compared to eggBs clipped in.

Probably better off with those ones with spd one side an all flat the other.

Then again what do I know, if you want to do a swap…

When it happened to me there was an invoice on the package when it arrived, 15% + a customs admin charge for opening it up to have a look.

Do nothing and worst case scenario you get stung about £20 and they charge a bit extra you for the pleasure of charging you. I’d guess there’s between a 1 in 10 and 1 in 20 risk. Some more friendly shops put a sticker on declaring it a gift.

Slow twitch and fast twitch muscle fibres make energy in different ways

Muscles that contain a lot of slow twitch fibres are red, because they contain lots of blood vessels. Slow twitch muscle fibres rely on a rich supply of oxygenated blood as they use oxygen to produce energy for muscle contraction.

Fast twitch muscle fibres don’t use oxygen to make energy, so they don’t need such a rich blood supply. This is why fast twitch muscles are lighter in colour than muscles that contain a lot of slow twitch muscle fibres.

Fast twitch muscle fibres can produce small amounts of energy very quickly whereas slow twitch muscles can produce large amounts of energy slowly.

Having recently skim read 3 books on cycle training and being just over a month into my training program I now consider myself Britain’s foremost expert on this 8O

I’ve gone from feeling like death after 15 miles to doing 40 miles relatively comfortably by doing an hour two week nights just below anabolic threshold (‘fairly’ hard just before your legs start to hurt / 155bpm). And increasing Sunday rides by 5 miles each week. This is all road though.

What I’ve picked up from the books is that there’s slow twitch (weaker endurance) muscle used for long riding which uses mainly an unlimited supply of oxygen and barely fatigues, and the fast twitch (stronger shorter) that uses limited food / fat and depletes you of of strength and energy pretty quick.

The key point is to go for longer you need to keep the ‘free’ energy from slow twitch in a bigger proportion as possible. That means higher cadence and increasing aerobic efficiency and threshold – so you can go faster before going anaerobic and using non oxygen energy.

Riding harder is just strengthening your fast twitch and sprint speed, you should train aerobically which is about 80% max for best results.

Although I agree with some of the interval comments, there seems to be evidence that improves anaerobic and speed/power. Did a session on the turbo last night and it was much easier than riding at a constant speed for an hour too.

ricochet is right, step 1 is always to remove or remove access to all food in the house.

And food for mouse is not just human food, it includes crumbs, soap, grease, food packets etc. That means a trip to B&Q for air tight containers.

Then you can think about traps or poison.

Have a Topeak Bike Wedge Bag Small just big enough for an innertube, levers, tesco PR kit, chain tool and a couple of allen keys. Tight but never need to open it except for an emergency and looks unobtrusive. Mini pump on frame.

Stuff I use like food and phone with map in jersey pocket.

Went for my first off road with newly installed carbon rigids last week.

Tarmac fine maybe better, smooth track OK but after a mile on fireroads I knew it was a mistake. The rooty stuff I actually had to get off and walk. I can’t remember the last time I walked ‘down’ anything.

Although in hindsight maybe the black route was not the best choice with semi-slicks and flat bars :?

Spend the money on some lighter wheels and tyres.

GPS Cycle Computer v3 – for your gps enabled phone, with windows mobile – if not why not!

Its free and even loads your route on to google earth.

Just tried it today, was interested in some elevation data, but the battery went flat right at the end :x

Or, that tesco’s one that even does cadence, on special offer for a tenner.

Fek that bling bling, Garmin Forerunner 50 best £35 I ever spent and my gadget of the year, I’m officially obsessed with my HRZs. It tells the time too.

If I wanted to spend more I’d go for the 405 with GPS.

Got a new 2009 spesh allez for not much more recently, very pleased with it. Had never ridden a road bike before but am doing 30 mile Sunday rides no probs.

I scoured ebay but the prices for second hand are way high, reckon everyone’s looking for a bargain.

Parts on the Allez are a little entry level (Sora) but perform fine and the frame is worth upgrading on. Only regret is I wish I’d got a triple for the big hills.

If they can get in to my garage they deserve the bikes. If I ever lost my keys it would take me days to break in.

Anyone tries to take one off me on a ride will get a screwdriver in the neck.

As above, the red is surprisingly short, basically up the hill then back down.

But don’t think it’s not worth bothering. The downhills are so well put together it is worth arriving an hour and half early just to fit it in.

Park up at the Buzzards car park to save some time.

There are a lot more feral / black dogs kicking about than most people think and they’re not stupid, they don’t hunt in packs, they leave the sheep alone you never see them in the open. They never stay in one area for long either.

A lot more likely than a lion :|, as is a fox for that matter. Cats tend to attack from above back / head / neck, while dogs and foxes go for the stomach / neck. Dogs will beat things up up pretty bad generally.

Kielder red is next on the list.

Or hand reared a fox cub named basil, taught it to catch rabbits and tearfully released it into the wild when it began raiding neighbours bins and being aggressive towards small children.
