I just bought this primarily for antivirus, not got round to installing yet but it has parental control stuff too.

Plus you get 3 licences to put on 3 pcs.
tinribzFree MemberLouis: 1791 was the year it happened. I was 24, younger than you are now. But times were different then, I was a man at that age: the master of a large plantation just south of New Orleans. I had lost my wife in childbirth, and she and the infant had been buried less than half a year. I would have been happy to join them. I couldn't bear the pain of their loss. I longed to be released from it. I wanted to lose it all… my wealth, my estate, my sanity. Most of all, I longed for death. I know that now. I invited it. A release from the pain of living. My invitation was open to anyone. To the whore at my side. To the pimp that followed. But it was a vampire that accepted it.
Probably not.
tinribzFree MemberI got one of those halfords 4 bike rack carriers for a trip earlier this year. Got to Scotland nervously constantly checking the mirror and taking it easy on corners. The top hooks are just not secure at all.
On the return trip while loading the tensioner handle washer thingies snapped, had to jerry-rigg with a plastic milk bottle and various cables.
Have used it once since for a 5 mile trip and had to pull over when the kids started screaming as it was hanging on by just one side.
Compete waste of money that would have paid for a towbar at least, not to mention dangerous. It's restricting but stick to 3 inside the car now.
tinribzFree MemberI got a lot of bits and bobs the other day but wasn't till couple of weeks later I noticed a part was missing. One email and next day arrives in post no questions asked.
Just don't get any ideas!
tinribzFree MemberHave had one of these Freecom NAS ones for over a year now with no probs. Bit expensive through, don't appear to have come down in price.
tinribzFree MemberNetwork them through your router, or take the hard drive out and plug it in to your PC with some adapter. Get a cross-over network cable, better still make one. Wireless dongle, bluetooth via your phone? Email the files to yourself on Gmail. Open all the files up with notepad, print out and type them into the pc.
tinribzFree MemberAs above >3 hours / more than on bottle needed road rides yes. Not felt the need on the mtb yet.
[unsubstantiated throwaway comment]
I read somewhere recently that energy drinks inhibit growth hormone, so recommended for events but counter productive in training.
[/unsubstantiated throwaway comment]
tinribzFree MemberGetting a road bike.
Because I enjoy the mtbing twice as much now I'm fitter. Obviously.
tinribzFree MemberAlu you appreciate going up, steel going down. Used to think weight was most important but have gone back to a steel HT after 15 years and not regretting it.
tinribzFree MemberGetting domain and hosting at the same place is better short term because they'll set up the DNS etc for you / configure the domain so it points to the right place.
Transferring domains between hosts is not that complicated (compared to transferring ownership). It is the same as setting up when separate but it's one less thing to worry about at the start. There might be a small fee to transfer out though.
May have changed but hosts used to require you to have a domain name first, or buy one.
tinribzFree MemberIt is just stevo's link not site. With a proper host there's no reason that a CMS/Wordpress couldn't be a place holder site till a html was ready. It only takes a few weeks to get grips with an hit limits of wordpress and the like.
Html / dreamweaver give more scope for SEO to get a decent position in Google too.
On that subject anyone noticed how this site is so quick on google, sometimes posts are on there in minutes? Lets try this: stwgobbdegookynessword
tinribzFree MemberNot unless you already have a host, all you get from there is the software to upload on to one?
tinribzFree MemberJust don't choose 1and1, they are scammers of the highest order. You'll be billed for the rest of your life, costs will double for no reason and even if you cancel you still get invoices and fake solicitors and debt collector letters for years.
You wanna look for a host that has a Fantastico control panel because there are easy wizards that install a blank site like wordpress for you in 10 minutes.
I'd recommend http://ariotek.co.uk/hosting/shared-hosting/basic-shared-hosting a small UK company, you might even speak to the same person twice if you need support.
tinribzFree MemberSaw a mint Lumix LX2 go on ebay for 130ish this week, twas a crime. Apart from the LX3 and G9/10 all about £300 I doubt you'd find a better compact regardless of price.
Ixus produce really good pics but check out how many faulty ones are for sale. There is a known issue with the lens getting stuck (not that I'm bitter or anything).
tinribzFree MemberHave had a pair of specialized deflect for what feels like years now. Have been known to wear all year when the fingerless are AWOL because they are not too thick and feel comfy. Not felt the need to resort to the Aldi's yet either, although they 'really' need a good wash Not exactly waterproof though and certainly not snowman building kit.
tinribzFree MemberRunning 130 Revs here and I find the front end a bit light sometimes, the odd moment of panic about flipping when lifting up the front for a boulder or log. Don't remeber it happening on a Dialled with the same forks. But then that was a 19", this is a 17.5.
80mm stem, 2cm spacer, but can't imagine a couple of cm on the front can really make that much difference can it?
Maybe my arms are getting stronger, or my @rse fatter.
tinribzFree MemberI'd second the washington services:
54°53'22.51"N
1°33'32.30"W2 mins south of the Angel of the North. He just follows signs South, you North. Can't miss it cos there is a big FO plexi-glass walkway spanning the road. If you see signs to the tunnel you've gone too far. Not so big or busy you'd never find each other either.
tinribzFree MemberHow are they faced?
A hand file or some monster machine or something.
tinribzFree Memberbig fat zero, booze tastes of poison and make you feel ill. Sea water is free.
You just make that stuff up on the forms, its more for your benefit make you realise how much you'll have to cut back.
tinribzFree MemberScott – I don't thinks so, its a Scott.
Specialized – aren't they supposed to be heavy, plus it's a Specialized.
Genesis – looks OK but is Alu and the croix is also heavy with the disks and that.
Uncle John – just looks too weird.
Focus – too 'own brand', and Herman the German.
BMC – Never heard of them.
Kaffenback – Heavy but robust and tourable.
Would / will be the Kaff for me, because it's more of a road bike you can take off-road. Also liking the new colour? Looks a bit yellower than usual. Plus reckon you get better kit £/£ which will knock off a couple of Lbs anyway.
tinribzFree MemberIf I had that much to spend I'd go for an xtr groupset and chuck it on a cotic soul or one of those new pace 853 frames. Or go the ti route with an onone 456 or cotic soda. Those all seem to have plenty of fans.
Or try to build a non shimano / rockshox so you can sneer at everyone you pass on the trail.
tinribzFree MemberMy chamel was cramped and the harshed I ever rode, lasted a month.
Had a ti HT (not an on-one) and it was silky smooth whilst still direct but a bit big. Lasted 6 months.
Now riding an 853 and that beats them both, (although the front end is a bit light, not that I'm picky or anything).
Forks make a difference though too.
tinribzFree MemberWhat about a new funky 456 and a groupset. Merlin are doing a deore disk one for 180, with wheels for 250. You could get some bargain stem, post and bars on the classifieds. Same for some decent forks. The ones they sell on most £500 bikes are worth about £50 anyway.
tinribzFree MemberDo public servants see themselves as a different class of person to the rest of us?
Yes, ones without company cars, annual or performance bonuses, no perks or company credit cards, inflation only pay rises even when times are good.
I work in the private sector, have done all my career. This year, no pay rise, big deal.
Probably not a big deal to you because you already earn more than you would in the public sector anyway.
If you don't like it, change your career, but then you'll complain when your private sector employer doesn't give you a pay rise!
Works both ways, feel free to join the CS doing a job as dull as ditch water for much less money.
tinribzFree MemberDoesn't it make you wonder about the Tory's ability to make rational decisions when they announce to 1/4 (or 1/3) of the country's voters (not to mention all their dependants) voting for them will cost a pay cut?
Keep it up I say.
tinribzFree Membertinribz – for someone retiring now with 40yrs service in the civil service? 2/3rd of the highest annual salary of the last three years of service.
That's the premium scheme with higher contributions, most are on the classic with 1 80th of salary * per year served.
Based on UK average CS salary:
Salary – Years – Pension
20,000 – 10 – 2,500
20,000 – 20 – 5,000
20,000 – 30 – 7,500
20,000 – 40 – 10,0002.5k after 10 years! Is that gold plated? This is closed now anyway new peeps have much worse.
Gonna look into the Premium one though :-)
tinribzFree Member+4
Someone tell me what they think these gold plated pensions are worth after FORTY YEARS service please. We're not talking the Police and Armed Forces levels here.
[rant]
Talking of pay bill, how many of the CS's here like me are working side by side with a bewildering amount of consultants earning 10 times what they do?And it's not just short termers or project teams, some have been feathering the nest 2 years and more on £1k a day. This is 'Management consultants' not just techy contractors. Where I am it goes up to director level on god knows what a day. One big social network public school gravy train.
I don't see any freezes in their wages because they're 'off the books' with creative accounting outside the paybill.
It's the same with the techy stuff, don't get me started on IT contracts, outsourcing for 5 times the cost of in house and replacing the in house with the same number of clueless 'relationship managers', genius.
Now we take cuts to pay for the mismanagement and bad decisions at the top.
[/rant]On the plus side, bring on the redundancy cash.
tinribzFree Member456 Summer Season Lemon
Meringue with White Decal –
Rose Head Badge – 14"Not even sure why, just got caught up in the excitement of it all.
tinribzFree MemberHere is my 'short' list:
Pinacle twentyfour – 26.4Lbs – £220
Gary Fisher Precaliber – 27Lbs – £220
Cube kid 240 – 28!Lbs – £230
Specialized Hot Rock – 27.3Lbs – £240
Kona Hula – ? – £240
islabikes beinn 24 – 22.6Lbs – £250
Marin Hidden Canyon – 24Lbs – £270
Specialized Hotrock A1 FS – 24.5Lbs – £300
Scott Scale JR 24 – 22.31Lbs – £329Don't take all that as gospel. The Beinn is winning at the moment based on weight and price, although it is a rigid fork. Another good reason is their resale value.
An alternative I considered was a cheap jump frame some of which take 24" or 26" wheels (e.g. plan B static?). Did wonder if a 14" 456 would too with disks.
tinribzFree MemberAnyone see David Cameron interview by Andrew Marr this morning? The guy never answered a single question. Not for want of trying by Marr, and there were a few golden but brief flashes of panic on DC's face.
I realise your thinking 'Politician avoids question shocker' but any other would have picked out at least a few for sensible debate or policy clarification.
The impression that comes across is a totally vacuous philosophy of get in to power, to feed the smug monster.
tinribzFree MemberCotic 2kg / 4.4lbs?
Tea&Medals on here has a really nice looking silver Genesis, presumably also 853.
