I struggle to see the difference between a CX with road tyres / wheels and a road bike?

You can move the bars anywhere you want for aero-dynamics, and put any groupset you want on. The only discernable difference is going to be a lb or so on the frame and non calliper brakes.

The Boardman CX Pro has to be worth a look.

I was just messing about with mine similierish sort of issues, fix one end and the other is jumping about.

Then I noticed the derailleur was a bit close to the spokes and I reckon the rear hanger had bent in a little for some unknown reason, effecting the arc probably.

Bending it out a little seemed to solve my problem.

Up north nearly everyone like 9 out of ten people give a nod generally, even walkers, unless it’s like Sunday afternoon and the roads are packed. Doesn’t seem to matter what bike or attire.

Spent a week in Somerset / Glos way, 1st ride no one, not one person acknowledged my presence. Thought I must look like a northerner, or it is customary to ignore mtbr's on the road.

Next time followed a Sustrans route (to Humber Bridge), could have been a bit later, nicer weather too. And just about everyone gave a cheery hello, even a policeman on a ramshackle mtb.

Reckon it's the commuters that are miserable fheckherz. And younger women, but that's prolly just an affect I have.

Instead of buying one just hammer 4 fence panels together, that's about the quality of the B&Q stuff.

Went to a wood yard 4 mine (well tell the truth my father ordered twice what he needed for his 🙂 It's a lot easier than you think, just a 2×4 frame screwed together. Cost in a cheap circular saw and it's a weekend job.

Try looking at some connects2 adaptors. The one I have lets me use the steering controls. They simulate the CD player but you need the right one for your head unit, oem stuff is usually catered for.

Gyroscopic inertia

My ten year old and I were discussing why it's hard to balance on a stationary bike but stays upright when you're moving along. Stationary bikes on trains were discussed, as were wind tunnels and we came to the conclusion it must be the gyroscopic effect of the wheels? For anyone still with me, the thought then occurred that 29'ers must be inherently more unstable? Fire-road bikes you might say? Not really suitable for the rough stuff. 😛
