Anyone watching Eric Cantona in Inhuman Resources? Not quite sure what to make of it. Few episodes in and good performance from him.

Last 5 hermes parcels over about the last 5 weeks:

    1. Arrived real quick.
    2. “Lost” at depot, refund 2 weeks later.
    3. Arrived bit later than usual.
    4. Returned item held at depot as too large, must pay extra tenner – even though hermes delivered in the first place.
    5. Item to be delivered held at depot, too large. Turned up few days later. Measured 20x24x86 which is allowed according to their bizzare way of measuring volume (H+W)*2+L must be <250.

Sigma Sports are always first choice now, they use parcel 48. No idea if their customer support is as bad as wiggle, never needed it.

The Mrs had a test come back positive as did four others that work with her. And she says nearly 20 people in the care home she works at have died. Hospital was sending patients back.

She has had zero symptoms a week on but did have a temp three weeks earlier and isolated then too.

Me and jnr did the drive through test this week, both came back negative.

Current advice seems to be we still need to isolate but she no longer needs to!

Sold 4 bikes last week, two on ebay two on faceache.

For two I had to deal with dozens of similar op and height related messages daily for a week. Then get charged nearly 15% for the privilege.

The other two were picked up next day and paid in cash for full asking.

The latest Whyte, Grade & Merlin G1 are all rather long in the virtual top tube. This, the stack and headtube angle is what usually guides me to a new frame based usually on the previous bike. Of course you can size down but you’ll lose some stack. Or then again you might want a more racier position then you have now.

The Ribble CGR AL looks like your usual road geo and owners always seem happy, but it’s Tiagra mecanical at 1k.

Evans have some Arkose d2s back in stock, well 14 days anyway.

Just picked one up and the new Tiagra 4725 hydraulic looks really nice. The finishing kit looks good too, even keeping the tyres.

Whaaat. I remember a special trip to visit their london shop in the 90s. Picked up a bike this week.

Recent years had turned into a bit of an upmarket Halfords, but that wasn’t a bad thing. Lots of newbies uncomfortable ordering online trusted them.

The whole ‘invasive species = bad’ thing is a bit of a popular misconception. It’s a wild animal that’s well established in the ecosystem

That’s oxymoronic. The bark stripping and nest robbing aren’t at all sustainable.

Been impressed with my asrock phantom gaming b365 mb. Generally i just get the cheapest and while this wasn’t especially pricy, has a lot of extras.

Just put a pcie ssd in too. Won’t be bothering with sata types anymore. Another upvoat for the 1660 super, and i wouldnt waste money on higher than an i5 if you go intel.

As for cases, they are just a box, go with what looks nice (says the guy with a lian li).

Was at Hamsterly once on a hardtail asking a couple of teens with full face and body armour directions to some new bombcrater run.

They looked absolutely horrified and were quick to point out it wasn’t XC :)

Felt like asking them if they’d feel more or less confident with another 20 years riding under their belt!

When I was at college a million years ago we were taught the humane way was live cage trap, into a hessian sack, head out, then pull it’s neck. Or fertiliser bag with a few drops of some sort of toxic household detergent.

And by taught I mean here’s the sack get on with it. Very vivid memories :o

Alternative was air rifle barrel through the bars which inevitably they will try to eat.

Would be very impressed by anyone that could shoot and kill an uncaged one with one shot unless you were using a shotgun. Back in the day hoppers of Warfarin was an option. And poking the dreys with poles, but that may be a seasonal thing.

I gots a spin bike, set up as you describe, garmin and an old android phone. Putting the new hub sensors on may be problematic, but I managed. And not really sure the speed is right even at the lowest wheel setting. Also no gears will make speed fairly meaningless without power. Heart rate is better for training anyway but tracking progress?

They are quieter than turbos and take less room. Although I got a s/h gym one with magnetic. Very adjustable too, but also heavy.

Re cranks, they are usually proprietary bbs and square taper which practically only leaves you with the pricy pedal meter options.

Pretty sure I got the last D2 in stock in the country last week besides small. You might find some 2020 Giant Revolt 1s kicking about, bit more though and cable hydrolics. GT Grade AL Expert on wiggle with 105?

The nukeproof one looks real nice imo. And 650b is much more fun.

Might feel a bit draggy on tarmac but worth it when you leave it.

Sounds like a fault with either the ram or motherboard.

If the motherboard could be permanent and a faff to replace.

If it’s the ram than easy fix to replace. Usually two strips different speeds just defaults to slowest, but best advised to have same. Overclocking sounds a bad idea too.

Sorry if obvious but MBs are not happy with different sizes of ram strips and you need to make sure you use the correct slots.

Edit – sounds like you covered all that.

Spent the weekend packing two bikes, masterly I might add. Including LBS courtesy purchases to procure boxes.

Both sold to locals that wanted to pickup. And one, in a brand new range rover, insisted paying with wads of notes.

First world problems. Ouo’d ave em.

I’ve a pair of the GRX ones on a shelf waiting for a bleedkit to turn up. Will update on install and performance if I remember. Going to be fitted to 105 7020s and can’t see why Tiagra would not work either, all BH90 hoses?

Merlin would be a no brainer if they hadn’t messed up the geometry so royally, thought Whyte were bad.

If it is to be believed, some interesting shop soiled here: https://www.hargreaves-cycles.co.uk/offers/index.php?cat=39

The Nukeproof hands down, if you can find one available. bergamont grandurance 6 also meets your requirements, although the tyre clearance is a bit measily.

Cleared out all the old bikes and picking up a Revolt 0 tomorrow, not that big of a bargain and currently trying to remember why I wrote off the Digger on the other thread. About to pull the trigger on an Arkose too, debating if an extra £45 for an R2 105 vs the D2 Tiagra is worth it if it means new tyres possible new wheels.
