Depends on the rest of the build. If your paying a fortune on carbon bits n bobs would make sense. If there’s more emphasis on comfort then steel forks are a much nicer ride ime, worth the weight penalty.

Doubt it was the first time and given the time of day I’d expect he was after some milk or a slice of bread. Plod is OTT given the circumstances. Can’t see it ever happening again but would be asking the guy to explain himself and offer some recompense as an apology.

Purely anecdotal and my pain (in the same place but probably not the same league) used to come on after an hour of cycling. Went when I put the seat forward and learned to spin. Right foot pointing a little outwards helped too.

Just done a round of interviews as the chair, DT78 gives best advice. Like a few others have said you have no way of really knowing how well you did without sitting in on the rest of the interviews.

If you got an interview your qualified on paper but joviality doesn’t count for much, could just be trying to calm your nerves or personal style. It’s whether you presented the most convincing evidence for the interview criteria. The most weighted being experience.

It’s counter intuitive but I’d say you generally find yourself asking more probing questions to those that aren’t doing so well. But even that is relative – and probably doesn’t apply to the HR person.

Letters from the bank saying they’ve been ‘urgently’ trying to get in touch to discuss ‘important’ matters about your account.

When they actually just want to sell you insurance or con you in to upgrading to a ‘premier’ account with no discernable benefits, and they will charge you £25 a month for!?

Sounds perfectly rational to me. Don’t know why the sort of drops you describe have to be so tall, it’s an unnecessary risk.

Titus Ti Fireline and a pair of Rebas.

Then mount it above the fireplace for 6 month while you save up for the rest of the bits.

Edit – Cube LTD Pro 29 is bang on budget.

We’ve had the Nabru 4 seater I’m sitting on now a couple of years, back cushions could do with a paddling, apart for that so far so good. Be warned though they come on a pallet Ikea style.

Just built up a 29er SS inbred, flat bars and bar ends for leverage up hills, but with one of those built-in freewheel cogs. My first time SS, rides much better than was expecting. Not sure I’d want to off-road fixed but bet it would be a blast on tarmac.

Nabru are worth checking out although more for custom sizes and looks like it’s ‘faux’ leather.

Surroundedbyhills is right, there would be an unmanageable population explosion and none of use would ever get to draw a pension.

Actually the opposite is true, it’s the lack of young tax payers that will end pensions.

Does being the lesser of two evils make it less evil though? Will legalisation increase consumption is the real question.

Superstar have some light cx disc I’m saving up for. But do you know the rear hub width of your frame? You could always build your own, that’s what I did initially with some xt hubs and halo rims.

My short ride not unusual experience today, nod from a roadie, scowles from a group of walkers, a look of incredulity from a dog walker. Blanked by 3 very serious looking younger mtb’ers on expensive bikes. A cheery hello from a second mammil.

Cars were infrequent and slowed down to pass safely. If you have to tarmac I find sticking to the C roads is best way to minimise unfortunate encounters. Might be longer but the scenery is nicer too.

A voluptuous woman of unknown origin combs the highway in search of isolated or forsaken men, luring a succession of lost souls into an otherworldly lair. They are seduced, stripped of their humanity, and never heard from again

Scar-Jo, Aliens, Scotland, the word voluptuous – interest peaked.

I’ve one on my Kaff, and would say 45 was a little masacistic for hills. But I’m a bit of a wuss.

After breaking my back digging out snapped concreted in, used spikes a couple of years ago. This year’s non stop rain & wind has left it well wobbly. Clay soil doesn’t help. Just broken bricks and rubble doesn’t sound like it would be that stable either.

Easy fit a 23.5cm pump in a roll. But fek me £40 notes is a bit steep for a pencil case, swear I only paid half that when I got it.

I use the bagman QR but with a bit of an alu strip bodge rather than big wire pictured above, but I already had one for a camper bag.

You can also get seat post adapters for klickfix barbags, they work pretty well at the back.

On the cheap you could knock something together using a gas mask bag from an army surplus?

Not really sure I understand but if your column of values is in col B, then try this in col A: =IF(B2=MAX(B:B),B2,””) – Put in A2 first then drag down.

Edit – you may want to change the last B2 reference in the formula to refer to another column? e.g change it to C2 to show the value in col c.

Another vote for Aerotrack, cheap, strong, look good, and surprisingly light. They will take a wider tyre too.

Just did a hose swap on some SLXs, apparently they don’t need bleeding if you do it quick / right. Good luck with that…

Hub dynamo phone charger that doesn’t weight a ton, linked up to brakes so it only charges when your braking or going down hill.

Like the idea of hub gears for the BB too.

Bout time someone invented front wheel or better still two wheel drive.
