Sigh, not another Froome / Wiggo debate. This race has always been a whole greater then the sum of its parts. I’m off to watch Le Tour and cheer on some riders not a team. Am more interested in the podium girl selection than Sky’s.

Been thinking along same lines lately, Phillipa makes it look so easy, just and debating how to do the joins for things like wardrobes.

Never used one but is a biscuit joiner worth buying for MDF? And are the cheaper screwfix jobbies alright?

    Will I die?

Have been guilty of cheeky shortcuts on the firing range just north of there. General rule is Sunday’s are OK, you are supposed to ask permission, they put up red flags too. Wathgill Camp is bit closer to Catterick, tank country I think.

Re camping, there are plenty of unclassified roads to the north of Gunnerside area, many that turn into bridleways. Also a few carparks: http://tdf.roadworks.org/

Might have a recky for signs this weekend.

As mentioned Ritchey Classic is nice and reasonably light. Hope, Deda and vintage stuff, or Ti to consider. Have been known to spend winter evenings polishing black kit with emery-cloth, thought it might spoil / oxidate but stayed OK.

I’m only going for the dancing girls and free Haribo. On the proper Le Tour site it even tells you what time to expect the caravan.

Looks OK to me too, I get neck pain on the road bike if I’ve been riding the MTB too much and forget to remember your meant to stare the front wheel not the scenery.

Did a fixed rate for ten years just as it hit the bottom and didn’t move for ten years, pfft at least I didn’t have to worry about being able to meet the payments.

Just got another 5 year fixed because with the last ten year low there is probably never gonna be such good fixed rate deals offered again?

WOW i did not know that re the record. I got overtaken by an old lady on a TT bike in the dales once, wonder if it was Beryl’s daughter. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

It’s not the duty its the VAT that you get stung with. I’d one turn up with ‘Warranty Replacement’ plastered all over the box. Which of course it was. Fairly sure I just paid the duty.

I let it build up to a grand once, like a Christmas club to help pay for the holiday. You just ring em up and ask for a cheque when your ready. That was Npower, with EON now who I’m sure have some credit = mysterious increase in usage algorithm going on.

Is this thread for real!? I was shocked at the thought of SPDs for 10year olds.

Then again I lead a sheltered life, I didn’t even know ‘house cats’ existed till recently.

Did a site in the South of France few years back, might have been keycamp but all the same now. Fantastic weather and beach. Site was OK but big and a bit crampt. Walking distance to beach and town though.

Was cheaper to Easyjet to Montpelier and hire a car than ferry it. Always plenty to keep the kids occupied, if they are the right age.

There’s a lot of open moorland about and a far few bridleways off the route.

More food is produced per person now than 30 years ago according to Oxfam and I don’t see many empty shelves in UK supermarkets.

GM would help 3rd world countries produce locally but for the UK and Europe its about animal feed and profit margins, not altruism.

Bizarre arbitrary deadlines 24 and 48 hours and such. I mean you do get these in real life for mundane reports, but if someones life or career is at stake I think you would probably agree to see it through for as long as it takes.

Picked it off a shelf at some student lodgings age 17 first classic I ever read and it really shaped the way I thought ever since.

With much of it is so ingrained in popular culture, Orwellian, newspeak, proles, Big Brother, room 101 it would probably read as a Cliché now. Especially with technology having since led to much of the surveillance culture having actually become realised.

Richmond is not far and popular, bit stuffier but closer to the trails Reeth way. Some fantastic road riding is round Swaledale too IMO. Nothing wrong with Barney apart from being a bit remote.

If you can’t build it you don’t deserve one.

    Something custom along these lines;

Really simple and sturdy. Takes a day, buy a circular saw with the money you’ll save to do it.

Think I used some spray stuff out of an aerosol? Not a pretty sight but works. Melted it.

Or petrol and a lighter? 😀

Edit, real men use a knife and a bin bag.

Sold a 3 year old Bein for £10 less than the RRP. Must have spent £100 in those 3 years replacing / upgrading worn out parts and sprucing up with new tyres and grips & cables for the sale.

Got ridden a lot, school runs and weekends. No way a £100 bike would have lasted or been used as much, but it’s a long time wait to get your money back. Plus the profits by some twisted logic became my sons?
