Lived in a semi where next door was rented and and the difference in noisy and quiet (normal) neighbors was night and day.

I’ll just leave this here: http://metro.co.uk/2016/06/28/man-forces-annoying-neighbours-to-move-out-by-doing-really-creepy-things-5971460/

North side ring road is rubbish.

Hope you just mean the traffic

But traffic is not as big a problem going in and out of the centre, especially on the bike because there is a cycle lane all the way most of which is car free to and past the chocolate factory. From Haxby it is 4.5 miles to centre and busses every 15 mins. Plenty of back lanes up to the Howardian hills 10 miles north east. Just look at the Sustrans map.

I would choose Malton over Thirsk but prefer being closer to York. A lot of people like and commute from Northallerton which is on the main (fast) line to York and London. As mentioned York doesn’t have a big city feel like Bristol or Leeds, but there is always something going on, looks good and has a great vibe.

As mentioned google competency based, ask about problems and how they overcame them: Can you give me an example of when you had a tight deadline and were unable to meet it, what did you do. Have you ever had to deal with difficult people, how did you handle it? Do you have an example of when you have come up with an innovative solution, etc.

    got a link, tinribz?

Here’s one: High cycling cadence reduces carbohydrate oxidation at given low intensity metabolic rate[/url]

This CHO-saving effect of approximately 12 % disappears at an IntVO2 of approximately 70 %, which is roughly comparable to an IntP of 60 % with corresponding relCHO of 82 and 86 % (equivalent to 46 mg · kg?1 · min?1 vs. 44 mg · kg?1 · min?1 CHO oxidation) at 50 and 100 RPM, respectively, above which relCHO approaches saturation. Many endurance athletes monitor their exercise intensity via blood lactate measurements adjusted to exercise intensity domains expressed as a fraction of the peak oxygen uptake rather than mechanical power [49, 55]. kCHO50 and kCHO100 and also the cadence-effect on kCHO were independent of both Ppeak and V.O2peak suggesting that in top cyclists athletes with an up to 40 % higher V.O2peak than the present subjects combined with up to 30 hours of training per week such a cadence related CHO preserving effect may become a protective factor against glycogen depletion.

Although not sure I completely understand it all :? Seems to indicate only applicable at cruising speed.

If higher cadence is cardio then performance will be directly relational to fitness (which will take weeks (6?) to improve) and also related to genetics.

For the latter reason caparison with world champs may not be wise.

Back to the original post, as mentioned already the highest sustainable cadence is desirable for preserving glycogen, but you will need to experiment in training at different levels for weeks to determine your peak.

Take a look at the Sustrans maps. The way of the roses goes to Bridlington from York and is well sign posted. Or there is a more northerly turn off through Malton.

And it’s too big for you if that’s all the seatpost you have showing.

It’s for the ‘lad’ who’s nearly 6 foot and growing but seems to have short legs. Seat tube is long though. Changed the silly long stem but have yet to fit it properly.

Take a look at some lighter winter trousers, you get the padding but not the skin tight look. Or padded boxers and Ronhills.

Keep it simple. Two tempo 1 hour rides and one long slow ride each week. Add 5-10 miles to the long one till you hit 75. Take a break every 4 weeks. Would also recommend keeping a log.

Freeing the timber from pallets is hard enough without trying to size and acuratly cut the same time.

Step 1. Use a cheap jigsaw to attack the pallet.

Step 2. Use a tri square and mark all around individual planks.

Step 3. Use a standard Tenon saw to cut to size. Use the bench hook you made earlier. And saw slowly while your skill for cutting straight edges slowly becomes second nature.

If you have a lot of wood to cut a basic mitre saw is godsend and easy to use. While they are essential for long cuts, personally I find hand held circuler saws a faff to use and you need a invest in a decent one.

TOR wont help with torrenting will it? Anyway after the latest snooping laws paying for a decent VPN is just par for the course these days. If you’re really serous switch to usenet, which those providers don’t support anyway (unless you pay a third party).

I suspect for ISPs this is about minimising traffic anyway, plusnet are especially bad for that.

Here’s a good offering with not much compromising on actual performance if you need to include a monitor in the budget.

Just put on together my self, like Cougar says its more for vanity and exact spec than money these days. The weak pound has seen prices across the board go up the last 6 months.

The skylake generation of Intel processors are a big jump as a minimum for value I would be looking for: I3 6100, GTX 750Ti, 8Gb DDR4, 250Gb SSD. And hoping for an I5 GF 1050Ti. Also watch for windows not included which is another £100.

This one seems a good buy:

For me it was simply finding a bike that felt comfortable which took a few frames, then sticking to that geometry – virtual tt, seat tube angle, head tube angle (important for descending), stack height has some leeway with spacers and stems.

    Either:

    1. It’s intelligent enough not to want to get involved with a bunch of nasty little bald apes who mostly still think guns are really neat, or

    2. Intelligent life only ever lasts a few millennia before it discovers really big explosions and reduces itself into a fine radioactive dust.

    or

    3. All intelligent life eventually realises virtual worlds are a far more fun way to spend eternity than a drafty old real one.

Thought it was generally accepted as impossible to gain muscle mass and lose fat at the same time? So assuming you’re at a calorific deficit effectively any weighted exercise is simply a means to burn calories. And presumably moving heavy objects is an effective way to.

Suppose there may still be some strength gains. The only thing to consider is are you likely to be more fatigued and do less work compared to a less intense activity you might do for longer e.g. exercise bike or treadmill?
