Sorry, but did anyone ever clear up the issue over NHS branding for TJ back on page 1 / 2? Only the NHS didn’t used to have a single brand, and that was the problem, hence one was introduced ’bout 10 yrs ago. The NHS Executive started to realise that the NHS identity was becoming diluted as the new fangled ‘Trusts’ of the late ’90s started to brand themselves and acquire new logo’s. The public identity of the service, albeit made up of multiple independent components, was being lost.
So they imposed the current logo & typeface standards for all NHS organisations in England (but probably not in Scotland, obviously!)

Personally I think it was a mighty fine change, but then I supported targets 🙂

I had a bloated stomach feeling after a ride home from work 2 weeks ago, had tea, went to bed. Next morning really bloated and vomited back water. Got no 1 son ready for nursery, told 40 wk pregnant wife I wasn’t going to work and curled up on sofa for the day. Managed 1 slice of toast for lunch, then migraine started.

Eventualy at 3am I called GP and was admitted for appendix. In recovery for 1 pm. Discharged by lunch next day.

My only advice – don’t SNEEZE! I did on day 4 and managed to rip some internal stitches, so in a lot of pain now.

Good news, wifey waited a few days before Finn arrived 🙂

I love hearing the ansaphone message in the cardio rehab nurses office, always reminds me how people will do anything to avoid getting a proper answer when they think they may have a very serious question…

“Hi, you’re through to Cardiac Rehab, if you have chest pain, hang up now and dial 999, …” etc

Do they still do the Greenbee version, cause when you try & get a Quote & look at the policy wording, Pg 36 says “We will pay up to £1,000 for each pedal cycle (up to a maximum of £2,500 for any one claim).”?

Any insurer that includes mountain / helicopter rescue / recovery from inaccessible locations. Most standard insurers assume you can be scraped up by a standard ambulance crew to get you to a hospital. Snowtag / Dogcard will cover full costs of recovery and not just the medical expenses.

Had these, bought them home from Canada after a holiday there.
Ring your local council environmental health dept, they will come out, check if it is beds bugs and then organise the treatments. Ask for name of chemical they will use to re-assure yourself it’s the right one for the job. (should leave you a COSHH leaflet)
They will end up living / spreading all over the house.
You will need to get them professionally sorted though, homebrew fixes won’t work.
Bites often have a red appearence with raised harder white area in middle and generally itch badly for a few days.

What is your current interest rate and how much would it cost to pay it off now and start an alternative process?

Considering that you’ve managed this for 3 yrs+ and only have 18mths to go, why do you want to change the process, as it almost implies you’re loooking to defer the debt or extend the term, all of which will cost you more in the long run.

Find somewhere that will let you use a variety of arms against a variety targets, just so you can see how destructive even the puny ones are.

M_F tolling? Nag, don’t believe you.
Babies self regulate so when full they’ll either stop or vomit.
As others say, you’re permanently caught between working out if its because they’re actually hungry, wanting to copy, or trying to manipulate as they’ve learnt it works for attention.

Ours we feed until he stops, most days its loads sometimes not a lot. He remains a sensible and healthy weight.

My wife said that this morning everyone on the bus she was on was complaining about the nutter cycling along in shorts, saying he was irresponsible for doing so. My wife didn’t have the guts to say it was me.

WHen I rode to work in the snow last year, a colleague had an arguement with me for doing it.
His arguement was based on the premise that with all the out of control cars sliding around, it would have been my fault if they’d killed me.
How do you respond to that?
    Genius!

I used it for a glasses direct voucher last month.
Give them £19 and got a £55 voucher in return.
Was just a code, so added to online order and couldn’t be easier.
    Will use again

Or you have something small stuck in/through the tyre that. you haven’t noticed

Is there any consistency in the locations of the punctures? If you have lots, then you must have an idea whether they are tyre facing or rim facingby now?

Achilles Tendonosis can come on for a number of reasons. Cyclists taking up running is a bit of a classic. Muscles are strong allowing you to run lots and fast, but ligaments and tendons aren't used to the impact forces so damage easily. A correct diagnosis can be made by either a physio or a podiatrist as others have suggested.

You mention 'range of movement' exercises on the stairs, but you should Google & Youtube 'Eccentric stretching' if you want to DIY properly.

If you think you may have a biomechanical issue, go to a podiatrist and get properly assessed, though many running shops will offer a quick and dirty assessment on a treadmill using specialist software for nothing to get an indication of any problem.

Jumping straight into something else like barefoot running could well exacerbate the injury unless you are correctly healed first. Running barefoot will cause additional stress on the achilles as it will cause it to elongate further just at a time when it is already damaged.

Oh, and expect recovery to take 8+ weeks. I was feeling niggles that reduced my confidence in running for 6 mths!
All assumes it really is your achilles and not something else of course
Good luck with getting it sorted.

Love mine, the only let down I have at the mo' is the radio.
No RDS or signal tracking so it's like being back in the 1980's.

Just waiting for someone to write a different app that will make better use of the hardware & add the missing functionality. Otherwise, does more than I need, and the screen is stunning. Pinch zoom etc works well, and the predictive input on the on screen keyboard is genius!

Google navigate is now on as well, and everything works well together.

Reminds me of the tread a couple of days ago – why is the NHS costing so much – it's all the managers fault honest.

Rode from Calais to Kandersteg in Switzerland, to meet up with some mates & go climbing back in 1991. Plodded along over 4 weeks, travelling light. Had a wail of a time, met loads of nice people along the way, inc stopping & sightseeing in various small tows & cities. Not sure how far, but I was kind of meandering along.

In Bern I met a lovely retired couple who were cycling round the world. They'd started from Australia 18mths earlier, and had just started to need to replace worn out kit, luckily they'd just hit europe. (They were in their mid 50's)

The requiremnts I outlined above along with many others since 1997, are all part of the (boo hiss) Targets that are so hated by the media and Tories. (And many staff in the NHS as it makes them work harder, or do something different i.e. CHANGE, which they hate)

They may not be the best way to get improvements in healthcare and to measure the effectiveness of the additional resource spending, but they have been incredibly effective at reducing the ridiculously patchy nature of care that was inherrent before, and in ensuring that people get the right treatment in a timely manner.

The Tories stated position is that they hate targets and want to remove them. They would rather return to the early 90's where previous autonomy in the NHS combined with chronic underfunding caused extended waiting times as it allowed better expenditure control. (If you keep em waiting (2+ yrs), they're either less likely to miss appointments, or will die before treatment)

*** FACT Alert *** – for the OP

All referrals from GPs to hospitals where the GP is 'Suspicious' of cancer, have been seen by the hospital in 14 days (not working) since 2001. Not just breast cancer. Called the 2 Week Wait. This target is now so ingrained in NHS culture, the gov is making it a legal requiremnt to acheive.

Since 2006 2 further cancer targets were imposed, first is a 62 day wait. If you were referred in as a 2week wait by your GP and you are diagnosed with cancer, then you must start your treatment within 62 days of the GP referring you.

The second is that if you have been diagnosed with cancer via any other route, then you must start your first treatment within 31 days.

Since 2009, these targets have been strengthened further, so now if any clinician 'thinks' there may be cancer, the 62 day pathway gets initiated, and secondly, as most cancer patients usally have more than one treatment, all subsequent treatments must aslo happen within 31 days (of agreeing a treatment plan)

We use Wonderoos[/url] and it couldn't have been easier. Not an eco freak here, just works out cheaper and minimal hassle. Not had to rinse or scrape a pooey nappy yet (use flushable liners).

It's a doddle. Got to really laugh at those who say "I don't want to compromise my lifestyle". You've got a far bigger problem that's going to affect that!

Been following the thread and will try and make it as well, pending managment approval.

I'm a dark peak regular so appreciate all the variations being suggested, but I intend to follow Pook, after all it's his pootle we're on.

I'll consider it a magical mystery tour with potentially good company (never having met anyone 😀 )
