last time I try copy-paste a link on the phone. I’m sure I saw n article about a3d printer that used powdered titanium ink to manufacture car components and was going to make them cheaperr by 70%.
    Maybe I dreamed it.

Do you know anyone in Aussie who could book the internal flights for you?
This side of the ditch, it is heaps cheaper to book internal flights direct with the airline than for visitors to do so from the uk. Same website address, different website, different deals.

MTFU, but manage the risks. If you are on trails you know you can ride well, and in a good state of mind, solo night rides can be some of the best riding you will ever do. Nothing like an imaginary beast in the dark to improve your climbing speed.
If the weather is poor, you are unsure of your route or trails and you are underprepared then you are another mountain rescue statistic in waiting. Changing one of the risk factors is probably best in these circumstances.
But remember a swigg of single malt tastes best on a dark cold night at the top of a hill.

    Bigsi,

made the same switch by accident, 2 years ago.

H&S is about people and business culture change. If you are a people person with a good sales/presentation techniques and the ability to help people find their own solutions AND enjoy doing this, it’s probably a good move.
If you prefer working solo and frequently find people frustrating, annoying stupid or arrogant and don’t like dealing with them, it may not be the right career move for you.

I can’t help with the qualifications thing as I am not UK based.
    Good luck.

You could use Googledrive or other online storage eg Windows live and then share the folder with the recipients.

You drop them in the folder, it syncs with the online version, they download. Not sure if they need Gmail to access it or not.

When they are done delete the folder from your online storage and the files disappear.

All of the above. Strategic planning at the moment, have not approached landowners yet.
I am hoping someone would be able to put some idea of amounts up?

Similar issue with X-lite camlock skewers on a Tinbred. The little serrations on the skewers that are supposed to grip the dropout had been flattened/worn down. I didn’t have the heart to take an angel grinder to a new frame to roughen the dropouts so bunged a SHiamno skewer in with steel ends and presto, problem solved. I also contemplated using star washers to provide some extra grip between frame and skewer. Maybe Planet X could start putting some engraving on the drop outs to grip the skewers?

    althepal,
well done for raising this. Suicide kills far more people than car accidents, but is far less talked about and far less is done to help those at risk. Raising awareness and making it ok to talk about is vital in allowing people at risk to feel they can seek help while they still feel they have options.

DO I trust Brant who designed and built it on the 27.3 or Thegingerone who saved the original webpage and says 27.2 and do they really build seat posts with 0.1mm tolerances?

It was a USE alien, and snapped like a dry stick without warning,(It or my saddle had creaked since day one)but had lots of comfy flex in them.
the little skinny M2 bolts that hold the clamp together are fine.

I think the protracted length sticking out of the short seat tube design of the inbred, combined with a hundred kilos of rider and gear on a three day offroad expedition kind of finished off the lightweight racing design.

    🙄

CHeers. 27.2 rings a bell. it was always an easy fit, but had to do the clamp tight to stop it creaking.

    Singapore Airlines get my vote.
Bike in box as part of luggage allowance. Get there early as the check in staff have discretion up to 30kg if you are only a few kg over and don’t look too heavy yourself. Put all your heavy junk in your hand luggage and make it look light.
Fly via Singapore and put your swimming gear in your handluggage as there is a roof top pool in the airport which is great after 16 hours in a tin tube. There is a hotel in the airport too that rents en suite rooms with no windows by the hour if you would rather sleep through your transfer wait.
And what timmy said, scrub every last bit of it with a toothbrush. Consider fitting new tyres before you put it in the box. Waiting for an hour in MAF clearance while they clean it for you is not fun after a long haul.
Which bit of Godzone you coming to? Nelson is good if you like mile high descents with a pub at the bottom 🙂

From experience, really have a look at what you are carrying and try and reduce it rather than getting a bigger bag, ie can you leave work clothes at work? Do you need to take the lap top with you? Can you leave the lock at work and use another one for home?
I found courier bag looks cool and works fine for a short trip, but with a laptop and charger and phone and charger and boots and clothes and a towel and shampoo and lunch and homework it got me peddling lopsided.
Switched to a backpack and started leaving the laptop at work one day a week to cart a bumper load of shirts in and bought a pair of office slippers which reduced the weight I carted around.

It all depends what your work is and how much gear you actually need to take with you, but then I have weight weenie tendencies and ride a hardtail on 1.95s and cut the ends of my shoelaces to save weight and drag.

Sounds like your heart knew what it wanted a long time before your head agreed with it.
Once you know you are finished at a job it is time to get out. In "allegedly" breaking the law your ex-boss may have done you a favour if you were going to go anyway. You might get a payout that could kick start the mobile business.

Good luck with the job hunt. Sounds like you have the determination to get something pretty quickly. Did some food factory work a few years ago on shifts. The trick is to get in a good team and work your nuts off. Doors will soon open.

If it is primarily for practicality get something you can hose out. Like a Landy 110 or 90. Manual gearbox and 300TDI or earlier engine should be good for about 200,000 miles. The pleasant purr of the V8 if you can find one is good for 300,000 before a re-build. They only got unreliable after Ford got involved. 🙄

If you want reliability buy japanese but be prepared to throw it away when it breaks. Otherwise, buy a Landrover because then every journey is an adventure.

Cheers Jamie, looks like enough info to give me the confidence to start disassembling. LBS here (NZ) believes nothing is user serviceable but does have a $10,000 coffee machine in the corner of the workshop. HMMM. wonder why they charge $100 per hour for fork work.

    additional,

sometimes FC does not own the land but is only a tennant. In that case they have to do as the landlord says, jsut like you can't have pets in a rented flat, sometimes FC is restricted in what they can allow to take place on the land that they manage.

    I Agree with Mr Agreeable,

not all foresters ride bikes off road, but some do. and some of them may be on this forum

even those that don't indulge may be amenable to a well presented case 💡

most of the trail centres around today started from a discussion between local riders/trail builders and an understanding Forester.
