I found they had a bit less feel, but worked fine – definitely OK for winter

My insurance company is fine with any value for the bike as long as I tell them and can prove it. Purchase receipt works for most, but my Cotic is home built from bits – how can I get a valuation?

Replacement stickers (decals) for my Triumph were well over £100, there is a market in cheap copies!

CaptJon – I had considered that, and the soundtrack to Lion King and decided NO
Explosions in the sky – Nice tip, not heard of them before and may listen to some more, but none too relevant to the subject matter
Ladysmith black mambazo – possibly. Might work for several sections but would also like some drums

Just about any external USB hard drive seems to work with time machine. Just changed my set-up and now plug the drive into an airport extreme – seems like I have now almost built a timecapsule for about 1/2 the cost.
As for video streaming you could go Apple TV. As I already had a PS3 I use Nullriver Medialink ($20) which seems functionally the same as apple TV, but not quite as slick

You can work work across Mac and PC as the files are compatible, not the same as trying to run the same software. Office 2007 (PC) and Office 2008 (Mac) are functionally the same and are fully compatible; not the same as being able to (easily) run Office 2007 on a Mac

I think you have missed the point here and your boss is probably right.
Just because the Mac is an intel one will not help, the software either has to be compiled for OSX – i.e. Mac software, or you boot you Mac into Windows (expensive way to get a PC) or you run it under boot camp – another software fix.
For most software there is a Mac version, often cheaper. If not you are going to have to buy windows to run n your mac

Mildred, do you need some spares? Fitted, inflated but never ridden
Perhaps they suit 819s better, they were ridiculous on XTs and far too much effort to get on or off even with lots of soapy water.

Bit the bullet, ordered some Maxxis and awaiting delivery.

Think I know why they were going cheap, I paid £25 for the pair, feeling like I’ve been done :?

Just watched the video. Something is clearly different, my experience of wrestling the tyres onto the rims does not accord with Stan’s.
Thanks for the advice about the tyres, sounds like I have bought ‘duds’….. Anyone want to but some un-used tyres? :D

Thanks scardypants I appreciate the offer, but cost of fuel probably makes it a bad move. Also I would miss my pass to go for a ride

Could be, but an expensive gamble to try different rubber as these have not been ridden yet

Currently failing at stage 1, cannot get rim off!
Is it possible that tyres are a bit small and rims a bit big?

Once its on it seems to inflate with a track pump, so no need for co2

    Tyres – Scott Cougar
    Rims – XT tubeless
    levers – park
Sealant – irrelevant as its still in the bottle! (Notubes)
    valves – presta
tubeless tyres on tubeless rims – simples?

    Cheers guys.

I guess the real question was which of my local bike shops will have a valve in stock tomorrow morning…..

Just found out the answer to the second part – the core breaks

Rest of the question a bit irrelevant now, now where can I buy a new valve….. Any recommendations?

I did’nt clean before refit as bike had not been ridden and no sealant used first time.

I’ll try pushing tyre down before another workout on the pump!

How long can the sealant be exposed to air before its knacked?

So how could I ‘use’ this lifetime warranty? My old Blackburn pump (age unknown but <5 years) has failed (o ring perished).
No idea who I bought it from, no receipt………

Today's incident was narrow country road, but stll with white line. They were coming towards me overtaking a parked car, one on my side of road!

Sorry tracker, me not being clear.

The original grips seemed fine to me, but rubbed. Changed them for some old ones I had that seemed softer, but no improvement.

I dont think its gear / brake set-up as it sets in too quick and does not seem related to his use of them.

Just ordered some chargers and some gloves to see if these help.

    What are donut grip?

Normally use the roof bars, but the bikes are very high which can make loading / unloading tricky.
Also got a Avenir rack which mounts on the spare wheel on the back, OK, but not brilliant

Personally I would not bother, after the first week the novelty wore off and it has not been turned on since, it just sits there as a 'black' picture

Shimano XT wheels. The rubber block is rectangular, just seems too wide to fit into the rim

There are transponders you fit into the frame which identify the bike when interrogated by a 'wand'. Trouble is the police have not bothered to buy the wands!
Are you after something more sophisticated that links to satellite tracking? Might be a bit big and stolen bikes probably spend a lot of time indoors

"ST4 uses a low leverage ratio to produce 110mm of buttery smooth travel"
"to give 100mm perfectly controlled progressive travel driven through single pivot linkage actuated design"

I guess the last 10mm is a bit uncontrolled and unprogressive, though still smooth?
