Forgot to mention dealing with BT is a bit random. Sometimes they take the direct debit, then they will forget for a few months, declare I am in debit and triple it for a while, realise I am now in credit and stop for a while before resuming at close the the original amount. Trying to sort this takes hour on the phone to India and has no obvious effect. I should probably go elsewhere, but cannot be bothered.
I get my phone through BT and they keep trying to persuade me to get BB as well. Trouble is their website suggests I can look forward to up to 2Mb for the same cost as Virgin manage a reliable 10Mb
Tried cleaning the contacts, but still dead. Think its about 1/2 full, no way of checking till it gets recognised again.
I hate the cost of HP ink enough already, this is not helping!
I think I have just got my answer.
Sent the seized bearings back to Hope with a letter explaining age (17 months on receipt, 15 in bike), use and why I was expecting better. Replaced without quibble.
Top after sales service from Hope.
Had to look up Q-factor (bicycles) on Wiki, still not sure if a 2×10 is better, or even what better might be.
In summary then lots of people telling me that the downside is not too great, but little convincing stuff on the upside. Might go 3×10 for my next drive replacement.
Surely you will use the front mech more, I tend to sit in the middle ring quite a lot at this time of year, 2×10 would split this. Not convinced by the weight saving of <50g.
Good point on bash guards.
I CAN see the point of 1×10 as that saves all the front mech stuff, just less convinced by 2×10
Firm squeeze front and rear, thinking of moving to moderate to firm squeeze to give better traction in the mud. Moderate squeeze gives too many snake bite punctures.
Got a ’55 diesel which does about 38mpg. Nice, comfy and reliable, but does drink a bit more than an estate – not such a problem with your intended milage
