I have a used UN73 one that feels pretty smooth you can have. A few spots of surface rust and the plastic insert has a lengthways crack – but still seems to tighten up nicely.
Biggest problem would be the cost of the postage compared to its value
Upgrading everything is going to cost more than buying new, unless you go for an ebay/classifieds special and only buy bargain bits – but then your bike will always look a bit, well, like an ebay special. Mine does, but then that does not bother me!
Interesting comment, I changed the channel from 6 to 7 a few days ago as there seemed to be a few local networks on 6, all seemed well for a few days so i had not connected it to this problem.
I was considering the same bikes a month or so ago. Never got to a test ride of either, but found the following reviews which gave me a bit of an idea. Hemlock[/url] 405[/url] both compared

No expertise, but been using the Healthspan stuff for years and its always worked for me and lots cheaper than stuff from the high street http://www.healthspan.co.uk only downside is that they like to mail me junk every month

The adaptor has a very positive 'end' to how far it will screw on, the pin is then about 4mm below the top of the adaptor. Guage has a round pin to pish onto valve, but nowhere near long enough to reach
