Just did it myself with Amazon, spotted my mistake 30 seconds (and £4) later!

Sound from the docking stations varies with price. The BOSE (£300) is good but the Argos special at £10 is poor. As with everything, the benefits of paying more are not linear and there are some really good value systems out there for about £90

On a similar vein what is to choose between a Lumix TZ7 (last years top of the range) and a TZ8, this year's no. 2? Both available for just over £200 and I'm finding it hard to make a sensible choice

Age is clearly not the key thing here, my 12 year old was riding a 17" Rockhopper ! Not a perfect fit, but its only going to get closer to the right size in the future.

Thanks for that, I don't feel so alone now. I can usually cope with new software, I can even use Office 2007 in preference to 2004, but Tracklogs V3 just gives me tarrets! (sp)

130mm of stanchion showing so guess its set to 120. Might try a bit less pressure then.

Came fitted to the bike, which was sold as having 120mm at the front – so I am guessing they were set to 120

They work fairly well, heavier than a tow-a-long but you get the option of detaching the kiddy bike. No idea about a MX16, but the frame does need to fit the clamp and some just don't. You need to get someone to measure the spacing on the clamp and then check against the bike.

Only just spotted this, but as i'm a local it looks like an ideal first STW ride for me.
I'll go with the whippets, unless its wet – then I'll plod along with the slackers

Some seem more prone to wear and loosing grip than others. I had some panaracer trailblasters that gave almost no grip even though there were plenty on knobbles left – the issue seemed to be that the eading edge to these was chamfered off hence no grip.I got a few hundred extra miles by swopping front and rear.
I usually chnage them when the grip is lost

Yep, planning on a leisurely Winchester -> Eastbourne over two days. I know lots of folk who have done it in a day, but few that have enjoyed it! Not at the peak of fitness at the moment either, so going slow and having fun.

Which forks last the longest with the least maintenance?

    Rigid?

This is a trick question – right?

Just in case the 11-34 will have a slightly lower lowest gear, and some slightly bigger gaps between some of the gears. Top gear will be the same

Just moving out of OR myself at the moment, but still managing to keep my hand in a bit at work, throughly recommend it as an interesting way to earn a crust. I am guessing you have already looked at the OR society pages http://www.theorsociety.org/ to give you an idea on the job market. If you are based close enough to Southampton to commute have a look and see if Dstl are recruiting, they used to be one of the biggest OR employers in the UK

I think you might be right about it being the highest radiator (even though it appears to be the same as all the others on the top floor), still not sure why I need to bleed it so often though

Think they have to use iTunes, but no hassle putting existing stuff onto Tunes.
Agree about the 32GB minimum, I think *GB is small for just music, let alone video etc.
Ripping DVDs is a faff as iTunes wont do it, have to use a third party app. (Handbrake) but easy from there
Not much difference between the generations but latest (3rd) seems to be more fussy about charging from 3rd party speakers, chargers etc.

Had a RS and loved it, nicely made and comfortable. Tried a Duke multistrada (?) and found it gutless by comparisson.

Tend not to use the online subscription much, having to adjust the way Safari works to open it is a bit of a put off, but really i think I just prefer magazines to be paper.
