    @maurice i have some now as just been putting tokens in the rear shock, will post them tomorrow

    @wzzzz
    nope with 150 up front and a good rear shock setup its landing drops and riding better than my old 150/160 enduro bike so no fears at all with the travel being too short.

    @tdog
    BB us super low but the handling is absolutely amazing, i didn’t want carbon when i started looking for a bike but always wanted a pace but wanted full suspension so this was the one for me, almost went comic but just couldnt resist this bike.

    @moonsballoon i’m over the moon with it, onle had it out in anger once but it felt spot on straight away like i had been riding it for ages, super controlled and easy to ride.

    @joebristol
    yeah everything else is XT aside from the mech, wasn’t sure about going for XT brakes as always had sram/avid but glad i went with the full XT for sure now.

    Yeah the pricing is certainly fair, thats a XT Ultimate build however the XT mechs went out of stock so has an SLX on. Pace were sound and refunded the price difference between the two and i would never notice the performance difference anyhow…..mega happy with the bike on all counts. Its hard to do it justice in pics but the raw carbon looks awesome.

    Got my RC295 last week and had it up to inners for a shakedown ride at the weekend. I absolutely love the thing. I have come from a YT Wicked 650b pro and cant believe how different it is, the RC295 picks up and holds speed like nothing else and climbs really well too.

    If anyone has any questions etc let me know. I ordered an XL as im 6ft 2in and the fit is spot on.

    Love a bit of forza 4.

    Does anyone know if we can set up a STW rivals challange event?

    Timthetinyhorse is my id if anyone is online and wants to do some racing.

    @whitestone the issue was caused tracking up a forested valley and following a climb that tracked the same direction as what i was following on the map however not the correct one, ultimatly my error however the map wasnt true to the exact layout when we tracked back. Once out of the forest line higher up i was able to work out my location but being well below the tree line in thick fiorest certainly made things more difficult, i also believe one of the bridolways i tried to pick up had been recently forrested and couldnt be found…..i suppose this is one of the issues with riding in managed forrest though.

    timthetinyhorse

    @sarawak indeed the issue i had was that the 1:50,000 i was using in the forest wasnt anywhere near enough to the detail i needed. 1:10,000 may have been better for sure

    No real reason for an edge other than i like the idea of trailforks compatability (not sure what other devices ar compatable)

    Im certainly open to other options as its a fair cost to drop on something that wont do what i want it too, im wanting to do more remote rides in the cheviots etc so having something to assist with navigation etc is what i really want.

    My 2nd hand info was wrong, indeed they are floats……….

    i am yet to take a look proper look at these forks but just trying to get an idea if anyone has had any similar issues……I suspect there must be air getting trapped somewhere

    Don’t suppose the owner has a hands free phone kit either….see it all the time, can afford £ks on a posh motor but not a hundred quid to be hands free on the phone……..this time his/her tightwadidness is going to have them cussing.

    How would this be of any help to said car owner?

    Grimshaw would have been the better replacement if he wasn’t doing breakfast.

    Really? I fail to see in any way how he would be suitable to replace zane in this slot………..Yes zane could get irritating and play some garbage however this is all down to opinion. His passion and drive for music was obvious and this showed through interview and the way his show was produced (i know some of this is down to producers but open to be flamed anyhow :-)) Grimshaw however is a pop man, 1D etc, not the correct man in the slightest.

    I like Annie however as said above i think the show could slide a little towards the dance side of things, no real issue there so long as they keep the balance right.

    Just my 10p

    Ok will have a look on the OS map later at the above mentioned areas,

    There’s some built trails in the woods above Great Tosson but I’ve never had much success finding stuff worth riding. There’s usually people knocking about on big bikes who you could ask.

    this is what i must have seen on youtube, may be worth a little explore and see if i see anyone on big bikes.

    Im pretty local so should be able to get an idea of conditions too :-)

    what car are they going on thegreatape??

    The ones from my A4 are to fit standard rails so if its a new new car i doubt they are any good but if its an estate with roof rails mine may be your answer………

    Of interest is it the aluminium ones you are looking at? they are the ones i have had and they are top quality, think they make OEM bars for some manufacturers….

    timthetinyhorse

    Had atera on two cars no (audi A4 avant with roof rails and corsa) both sets have been amazing quality, they didnt have locks i.e. with a key but you required a special splined tool to remove (not sure if the tools is individual to the bars) but mine never vanished and the car was left all over the place and the bars never removed (on the audi) the corsa ones have locks and also require tools to fit to the roof so pretty hard to remove

    Some interesting points, im full bore at work however dont fins it much of a stress, tinyhorse jnr has been sleeping full nights now for about four month 7:30pm to 6:30am so sleep aint too much of an issue unless i have been on the beer and then of course i have a rough night but i dont drink a great deal so not sure its that.
    I use whitening tooth paste if the wife buys it although at the moment i have no idea!
    I can go months and be fine then get hot with two or three at the same time, nothing i cant deal with bit drives me up the wall!!
    I drink a lot of black coffee so thats why i thought they could be linked.
    Might try Vit B and see if i see any change :-)

    So lets take this in a different direction now then, what can be done to make things better in the UK for us all as a collective??

    What small changes can we all make that can have a positive impact for the masses??

    Of course as far as cycle paths etc go this is most likely tackled form a local council level (i know very little of the politics involved) but how can this be influenced?

    There are most certainly a lot of valid opinions in this thread now so how do we all make them count?

    Unless you genuinely are the nicest person in the entire world (and smell of cookies and cream ice cream or have a quite incredible cleavage) I guarantee this is not how the vast majority of ‘friendly advice’ conversations will go. Wave down the next commuter cyclist you see (preferably in the rain, always in the best mood and most receptive in the rain) without lights and repeat your little chat and see how it goes. Please report back.

    I have to say i do agree with the above this is most likely not going to work in most cases…….

    Sorry, that was a metaphorical ‘we’, not aimed at you. I think a lot of people on bikes tho are just that, people on bikes. Just as drivers pay no attention and dont see outside their small view on the world (as in, just drive whats in front of them, no thought to alternative routes etc.) then i think a lot of people on bikes are like that. Grab bike (lights or not), Go – do not stop to look around or employ thought.

    yes, you have put into words more or less what i was trying to put across (however badly i have done so) granted the ranty nature of my posy may not have helped.

    timthetinyhorse

    So yes, the 3 roads all have very good cycle paths in part, but anyone coming upto them will find the road they just left was easier to navigate and smoother, so might not get to ‘the good bit’ that is there. And the roads in question should be safe as they link into small towns, why should we suddenly need to leap off them!?

    again im not telling you to leap off them, you have stated why you don’t use them and i can accept that, pint taken, im not on a high horse here and im always open to correction.
    The roads should be safe yes, bur as has already been covered there are many poor drivers. not saying that you should have to move because of this either and i dont condone bad drivers.

    No still here,

    There are a lot of well stated points and I’m not discounting any of them, I have no motive here at all and if anything have a much better understanding for the outlined issues.

    The original post was not designed to cause insult etc although it does appear to have.

    Perhaps I might drop the car a few days a week 8)
