I’ve got some shiny new taper 150 fox’s on my Rocket and they are excellent, not flexy at all plush and pretty.

I only paid £650 for them too, get tapered steerer, it’s supposed to be stiffer than the inch and an eighth.

    Slogging miserable; Slithering is fun!

I can’t argue with that statement, however I think I’ve had enough rain now, thanks.

Nice frosty month would be a lovely welcome change.

No problem, I just clip all the straps together and bung it on a 40 wash.

I do mine about 3 times a year.

seems at the minute that if you do not ride in the rain you will not ride at all

Just back from a couple of hours, including a bit of trail clearance, intermittent rain here. Doesn’t hurt, honest.

Though I too am worried about the washing machine 😆

Yep, I shall be behind the bar most of today until we close at 10:30, when I shall be ‘avin’ a beer myself.

    Endless threads on here.

The best advice is try everything you can, preferably on your usual trails, not just round a car park. It’s your bike and your hard earned cash.

I tested 4 very different bikes for at least 2 days each, including a 29er, before I bought my 26er Cotic Rocket. For me a 29er didn’t add up, but there will be plenty along to tell you otherwise 😀

    Cotic Rocket, no question

Black Friday, I run a pub, which rarely has trouble, tonight is the biggest stress.

Scaffolders tend to be the worst, round here anyway.

    Still have fun all.

Spent a weekend testing a Tallboy, I can see why it appeals to people, but 29″ is not for me. Seems far too grown up.

After much deliberation I went and bought a Cotic Rocket, fantastic fun. It’s like riding a BMX, in comparison.

agentdagnamit now that’s just showing off, lucky beggar.

Northwind, that’s sort of my thinking, I have enough trouble navigating around here 😀

If you rode a 26er the door would have missed your wheel by 1.5″

Fantastic new thread opener, another set of spurious reasons for not getting in to wagon wheelers 😆

I was looking at something similar, I really enjoyed Bikevillage[/url] a few years ago.

Coolhandluke, I was thinking of doing it self catering etc, but you seem to suggest it’s no cheaper?

Go to Jedi, in a group, great fun.

You will learn, it’s amazing how useful it is to have an independent person watch and critique your riding.

And it’s a day out on the bike, which is always good 🙂

Worth every penny IMHO, I can spend £40 and then some on a good night out, makes my subscription a bargain and it’s easier on the liver 😆

What happened to the good old days when you bought a bike cause you liked the colour

    😆

I’m 5’10” and have always ridden 17″- 18″ frames, some have been a bit long too 20″, feels like a farm gate to me.

Try as many as you can all wheel sizes and a few frame sizes. It’s you that has to ride it, not the salesman.

26″ vs 29er is still a raging debate. Try both out, see what you like personally! They both have their merits and they’re equally valid in the marketplace these days

If he’s asked for a report he must have an idea about the guys behavior, so if you’re not honest it could come back and bite you. Just tell it like it is.

they were great, but they’ve been discontinued

Hmmm, that’s what I heard this morning, don’t really want to put a discontinued fork on, just from the future spares point of view.

Apparently they’re recommending the 55 as an equivalent, but that’s bigger

Real Ale Wobble for me, beer festival, muddy ride with free beer, beer festival. Really slow start on Sunday 😆

    Great fun..

Sooo tempted, but TF can’t get bits either and have given up dealing with them.

If only I could regain my trust of people and companies. 😥

    Just plain fed up today…

Going to the Real Ale Wobble this weekend, biking in Wales and a beer festival, usually I would be excited, but actually not looking forward to it at all.

Hopefully it will be a good pick me up. Really need something to be fun.

For such a good reputation you’d think there would be a distributor in the UK.

does the bracket replace the small bolt that is visible in this picture?

    Yup.

adrenalindaddy, how are you getting on with it 2 weeks down the line.

I’m just trying to raise the funds, not sure if I can stretch to a BOS fork though, is it worth the money?

I have a Trek Fuel and it’s great, but the mud clearance, very important in my locale, is rubbish.

I have my sights set on a Cotic Rocket, fantastic ride, just need some more pennies 🙄

Yup, subscribed almost immediately it came out, I’ve rarely been disappointed with the quality and breadth of the articles and I like the kit reviews even if I can’t afford much of it.

Oh, and I’m over 50, but not a fat knacker…. well, not most days 🙄

    Choice is good.

I tried a Santa Cruz 29er, great bike, bit too grown up for me I’ll stick to 26, thanks.

Riding is good, riding is good, riding is good, what you ride is up to you. Though I may extract the urine once in a while just for the hell of it. 😈

I find the RQ’s excellent in most conditions which I think is all you can ask of a tyre.

Nothing’s perfect, but they suit me and my riding.

We’ve just changed our team shirts from black to red and I must say they do show up a lot more, obviously not like a flouro jacket, but I was surprised how much more visible they are.
