as yours started suddenly and recently, I’d be asking for a referral to a specialist clinic

    Firstly this ^^^

Secondly and I know it sounds weird, don’t listen to it, it’s amazing how you can get caught up in just listening to the tinnitus, but it will get quieter if you ignore it.

We have the Sure flap and it works well, when they were younger our cats used to taunt the next door neighbours cat until it chased them home. They would slow to let the chip reader do it’s thing then dive through and watch next door pile in to the now locked flap, very amusing.

I carried my NCB over no problem, but I would suggest a bigger van, mine’s an old Vito, if you are going to. Mine has windows and seats, but the back is panelled.
I’ve rarely been asked to move people, but it’s great to help sometimes.

MPG may be an issue, I don’t do a lot of miles nowadays, and if you have no windows in the back at all you will get charged commercial rates on toll bridges & roads, i.e. Severn bridge. Mine is registered as LGV, so my speed limits are slightly reduced, which I only found out after the speeding ticket on a dual carriageway 🙁

Otherwise it’s all good, I won’t be going back to a car anytime soon.

If the alternative is not voting then it’s better than that.

It’s probably who I’ll go for too. Seems to be little choice.

and +1 for a “none of the above” option

Got to say that I don’t have a problem with the tweet either, but I can see that it may upset some people. Never thought I’d defend a UKIPer!

A recent Facebook post read, “If your God makes you feel secure and loved, then great and good luck. If your God makes you feel like killing someone, start with yourself” seemed logical to me.

Love my Rocket, but it’s the “old, proper” wheel size.

I’m sure the new flavour will be just as good.

15mm vs QR – yes, very obvious

Taper vs straight – not so much

The spring of steel – too dependant on frame design

The comfort of Ti – as above

Pick up – yes, but not sure it bothers me

Crank stiffness – only from square taper to splined jobbies.

I recently built a wheel with a wider/ stiffer rim and I was gobsmacked how different it felt.

I can only add that I sincerely hope that it all works out for you and yours.

    Good luck.

I’ve run RQ’s for several years front and rear, I’ve yet to come across a tyre that is so predictable.

I run UST because I did find that the sidewalls were a bit flimsy, but I am a bit of a hooligan/clumsy with tyres.

Keep them tubeless and the pressure lowish to get the best out of them.

Very easy to follow, I had a mate build the truing stand.

Very satisfying to build your own wheels, but I wouldn’t call it fun 8)

I was truly gobsmacked at the difference between QR and a 15mm axle.
I strongly recommend that you go for a 15mm, I wouldn’t even consider QR now. IMHO obviously.

I had a 156, which is older, but a similar size and shape. Generally just took the front wheel out on my 26″

Great cars if you get a good one, I’ve had 3 Alfa’s, one was a bit of a pig, but mostly because it had been poorly repaired after an accident.

Oh, and it looks like I’m one of a select and fortunate few with a 26″ wheeled Rocket.

Yes, you’ll die of the sheer fun of flicking easily around corners and hopping off silly little bits of trail, but at least you’ll die laughing. 😆

Sorry to hear it’s not worked out, so glad I got mine 😆 There doesn’t seem to be an emoticon for smug git!
I can only wish them the best of luck.

Funny old world. I hate 29ers, I just think they’re not very good. Great for an XC racer, not so good for the rest of us.

    This ^^^

But I speak from having a Rocket and I will ride it until either it falls to bits or I do. I’ll be doing my best to delay both, whilst riding it hard, and I’ll be making sure I’ve plenty of 26″ stuff to carry on with.

A 29er is never going to be as chuckable as a 26er and I hate the fact that the industry is deciding that we all need to buy in to the big wheeled “revolution” but hey I’m a luddite.
    (Yes, I’ve tried a 29″)

Yep, Rocket is as near perfect as I’ll need and I don’t road ride or commute.

FWIW the i25 does have a vertical “I” beam like support through the centre.

Pick a side and be a dick about it.

Ha Ha, bit close to the truth.

I’m just building a WTB i25 and it looks great, similar weight to a Flow ex. Hammered a Stan’s on a waterbar on Exmoor, didn’t really survive. I am a bit of an animal with wheel though. I’ll keep you posted on how it lasts.

Lunch with us at The Raven or call in during the evening and swap tall tales of bicycling with me 😀 though I will be working.

+1 for borrowing a bike off Cadence or John’s, if they’re not all booked out.

Christmas market will be overflowing, loads of museums too if that’s your bag.

For me, it’s not a case of can you do it all on one bike, because if you have the ability you can. It’s more a case of if you only have one bike which compromise serves you better, and that will vary from person to person.

    +1
I’ve never had the luxury of more than one bike, so I’ve always tried to pick a do it all bike and I’ve always enjoyed riding them.
Taking a lack of compromise to it’s logical conclusion, and compromise is the issue here, I’d have to change tyres at leat 3 times each ride around here 😆

“For the faithful, no proof is neccessary. For the faithless no proof is possible” So, no religion will, unfortunately, never die out.

However, as has been stated, very few wars have been started by people who truly believe in the actual tenets of the chosen religion. War is started by power hungry, blokes that twist & distort “the message”

If God love us, how come extremists aren’t extremely loving? 🙄

Bikevillage, French side of the Alps.
AQR, great riding around the Pyrenees.
Pure Mountains do a great chalet deal in Les Gets.
Switchbacks were a bit disorganised, IMHO, the riding was good though.

I’m gonna regret saying this, but my reverb has been superb for the last 2 and a half years. No issues at all, it just works.

Thinking about sending it off for a service, but worried it’ll come back pants.

I’ve an S4 and recently bought a Topeak dry case and bar mount too. I put it on the top tube, because I could, and it seemed less vunerable in the inevitable OTB moment. Well inevitable for me anyway 🙄
