We’re closing the pub tmw and we’re all, owners and staff, going on half pay or the least we can get away with. We have finite cash reserves, so just hoping we won’t be closed for longer than the cash lasts.

Son has been made redundant as the firm has folded.

Looking like several of our suppliers won’t be around at the end, certainly with no apparent help coming anytime soon.

Shutting the pub tomorrow, hoping the limited cash reserves will keep us and our staff together long enough to see it out.

And best of luck to all. Not sure if it’s the virus or the government we’re trying to survive.

My Berlingo will take 2 bikes whole and upright, just.

Most useful vehicle I’ve owned, for it’s size.

Where the hell did you guys go to school? I’m 54 and I didn’t have any of that sh*t.

I’m 58 and also had no problems, in fact at a rather harsh primary school I was praised for my neat left handed handwriting, though that was the only thing I was praised for.

I’m with TSB, they give a small amount of interest up to £2000 and don’t charge, on the rare occasion I have more than that it goes in the savings account out of the way of the internet.

The making money bit is a long way off, but in theory the moon would be a staging post for exploration and exploitation of Mars and the Asteroid belt.

If you can sort the engineering side of mining asteroids the quantity of materials available are believed to be mind bogglingly huge.

The spin off benefits of such a project are similarly huge, but difficult to quantify.

I’m just hoping that the U.K. will have some involvement, just like last time.

Once you get used to dropping your saddle on a whim you’ll wonder how you lived without it. As Trimix says it will change your riding more than you expect, in a good way. I can’t imagine a bike without one now.

I know BOC are generally expensive, but they do a small single purchase* bottle which takes standard gauges. It works out cheaper and more reliable than the disposable ones.

    * you don’t hire the bottle, just pay a one off deposit.

Mint car, obviously for the line “it feels so big it almost hurts” though I have no idea what it means.

I like them, it gives the people I ban somewhere to go.

Pubs, any pubs, are still a better social network than any of the recent ideas.

Working, pub nice and busy from everyone that felt it was “too risky” to go to work. The lure of a pie and a pint is strong in this weather. 🙂 Every cloud etc.

I’ve had three Alfas, 2 were fabulous and one was a P.I.T.A. however that was traced to a badly repaired accident damage.
The only reason that I haven’t got one at the moment is they don’t do a van 🙂

+1 for the Berlingo, but trying to find a petrol one is difficult, they is like Rocking Horse droppings, innit.

I run a pub, so working and trying to walk that line between everyone having a good time and them all turning into bellends. Thankfully we’re generally more civilised in Bath, not always though unfortunately.

Have fun all, drink responsibly and it’s not often I say that

Thanks maccyb. Nice website. We do very little on the web, it’s difficult to serve beer virtually and costly posting it.

We seem to have spent an enormous amount of money on our site, particularly for the income it’s generated, or rather, lack of income, and still get told by people who look at it that the last developer got it wrong.

    Such is life.

To clarify, I don’t think hipsters look great, just waistcoats.

    Hipsters all look the same.

I have several, including one with a suit. Wear mine with jeans, not skinny, no one needs to see a 56 yr old in skinny jeans. Not hipster at all and I think they look great. Couldn’t give a monkeys what anyone else thinks. 😀

Which is one of the reasons why we don’t let kids in our pub. Dogs either for similar reasons.

Upsetting professional drinkers is neither clever or helpful.

I like the idea of professional lanes, might introduce that in my pub from November.

13 years in the trade and it still never ceases to amaze me how middle aged blokes don’t know how to behave after a few beers.

Still your money is a lot safer in my till than in your pocket, where you’ll just waste it on food and rent. 😆

Me and the pub appeared on it when they came to Bath, so admit to a certain fondness for it.

However, I agree with those that say it’s so much better/ easy to get out on the bike and do it yourself, or at least something close 😆

What I want to know in all this is, what are the US and China trying to get away with in the background? I’m convinced this is all a distraction from some nasty little plot from one or both of the “super” powers. As has been said NK is irrelevant in the great scheme of things.

Just looking at a similar sized project myself and that’s looking great.
Did you make the doors? If not where did you get them?
    Did you need planning permission?
    Cheers

I’ve done a couple of bathrooms with Aqua board or Mermaid board. It’s great inside the shower/ above the bath. I think it looks good and it is soooo much easier to keep clean than tiles.

Cost wise depends on the tiles. I’m not a big fan of cheap tiles and certainly not of tiling on top of old tiles, no problem with strength, but you end up with a big ledge and it ends up looking like a cheap job no matter how much you spend on tiles. IMHO obviously.
